  1. I wouldnt do the vein in a hi traffic area, the vein will eventually rub down and turn black, there is no cure for this. ITs just the natural tendency of the powder. A clear coat or as you mention a red top coat will help but in time it will still turn black. Just a thought good luck to ya.ive done the regular silver vein and ive topcoated it with blue, red, yelllow, green, purple, and orange. the blue and green veins are my fav.
  2. my $0.02 all the way to the tips, on my Brother in laws we did black and stopped at tips. WE didnt even mount them on the frame just held them in place and decided it looked like crap so we did the tips as well and installed on the banshee, THey are Powdercoated hi heat black and they still look brand new and are 10 months old and he rides the crap outta that banshee. they look sick too. Ive thought bought blasting my chrome off and doing the black on mine.
  3. IM a prof. Powder Coater of 6 years now, Ive been to classes, schools, pc shows the whole 9 yards. I have an 04 banshee I powdercoated the stock a arms on and re greased them and put them back together, This banshee is ALMOST ridden every single day on trails, jumps, etc. I also have my 05 drag banshee that I Pc the stocka a arms on and ran for a while till I got aftermarket, I made a few 97 mph passes on asphalt and never thought twice about my ball joints or bushings, Just my $0.02
  4. I agree Powder coat the wheels (Coming from someone who owns a powdercoat shop) Also I would think Rhino lining the wheels you might have difficulty keep the bead on the rim once you go to mount a tire, most rhino surfaces are fairly rough with inconsistancies. Just my $0.02 your banshee do it your way. Good luck to ya
  5. Good Luck man Ive owned a straight powdercoat sandblast shop for 6 yrs now, I drag race a banshee and all of my buddies do too we go to Little Sahara a dozen times a year and we have miles of sand to ride all over here at home with lots of ppl in 6 yrs ive powdercoat 5 banshee frames (2 of which mine) 2 250r frames and 3 suzuki frames THATS IT!!! Ive got over 200 Harley/Chopper frames and parts under my belt with 4 different 1st of show, show bikes.
  6. Ive owned a prof. powderCoat shop for 6 yrs now. I did the a-arms on my 04 and 05 Banshee. They are in perfect working order I have 3 different ovens at my business NO LAMPS!! as long as you get down to the ALL METAL portion with no sleeves or bearings or anything and clean out all the grease itll be fine. Regrease all components before re-assembly. the 04 gets trail riding 15-20 days out of a typical month. the 05 is stretched 10inches with a big motor  and is drag race only. I dont think twice about my a-arms when riding or racing either theyre fine. Just find a knowledgable Powdercoater.
  7. Hey guys thanks for the "positive feedback" you know who you are. all I was asking was what were those ports? now I know primary and secondary transfer ports. Ive been around 2 stroke engines all my life, but am fairly new to the Banshee scene, therefore the inside of a banshee cyclinder is much different than other cyclinders of 2 strokes ( mainly outboard boat motors) as far as the actual porting ive done homework on it and talked personally to several ppl. I knew what to expect and had diagrams of some finished products, and I must say im very pleased with my outcome thus far, I should make my intial test run this weekend, im having the head milled as we speak. Ive got approx 20-25 hours into my cyclinders. and am expecting a world of diff. Thanks to those who have gave encouraging words of wisdom to a fellow shee rider. ill post my new track times up next monday hopefully. Justin
  8. I know what im doing, I was just wondering what those ports are for and how they work exactly
  9. Hey guys got a quick question, im in the middle of porting a set of stock cyclinders, What are the 2 ports on the SIDES inside the actual cyclinder and what do they do? also is there anythign I can do to them to help out performance or leave them alone? Thanks A lot Justin
  10. Yeah man like I said the one has been going for a year and a half now and it gets ridden ALMOST everyday, the other is a 90+ mph drag banshee. mot scaerd of anything one bit. Good Luck.- Justin
  11. lol no more rattle? Awwh what gives man? I thought for sure youd give it the Krylon touch. haha best of luck . Justin
  12. I would say either Cascade Innovations or try Razorback Designs. I think its www.razorbackdesigns.com , Also might wanna look at Verde Powersports www.verdepowersports.com
  13. Smokin... Take a look at NIC Industries, also called prismatic powders, theyre in Oregon. theyre kinda the leader in Powdercoating right now, I think youd be suprised at some of the flake theyre putting in powder these days, more than regular paint, just a thought. Justin
  14. It depends how hot your heat lamp gets.. Powder needs at least 300 degrees to do its "flow out" a heat lamp you would constantly have to move to cover all angles, I own a powdercoat shop and have done both sets of A arms on my 04 and 05 Banshee and have no probs with them, I clean out all the old grease from ball joint, tape up powdercoat adn re grease, the 04 banshee was done over a yr and a half ago and still working fine. I live and own a shop in west central arkansas I get bout $65 for a set of all 4 A-Arms. Just a thought good luck. Justin
  15. Hey Smokin, I own a Powdercoat shop in Arkansas, Go ahead and strip your frame all the way down and have it sandblasted and Powdercoated, ONLY way to go. Not to mention any GOOD Powdercoat shop has a huge selection of color. I can put a $40,000 bass boat to shame on sparkles..I can powdercoat just like a bass boat or I can get flakes 2x and 3 x the size of metalflake in boats. If I did your frame in a blue sparkle to sandblast to bare metal powdercoat and clear coat your looking at bout $400. how much you gonan spend in primers and paints? not to mention man hours of cleanin and preppin? I can start to finsih in bout 3 hrs. Just givin ya a thought to think about. Justin
