  1. well i think my jetting is ok i went out and tore down the carbs after talkin t a bike mechanic and cleaned the hell out of em and also i realized i had the damn slides mixed up so problem solved everything is great now lol
  2. well i ripped apart the carbs today and cleaned the hell out of em but i also realized that i had got the slides mixed up so problem solved stupid mistake, it rips ass now and the throttle response is insane. thanks man
  3. that is sick as hell yeah i have to agree drivin that bitch t work would definately be bad ass lol but i dont know every cop i have ever talked to said they cant be street legal, but we should find out where these guys are that allowed them to do and look up the laws that actually govern it, they look legal enough but hey who knows. awesome find either way its sick looking.
  4. there is a legal version made in europe thats about 55k or better price wise. i know some states allow them in certain configurations for farm use and extreme inclimate weather conditions. other than that i have never heard of them being street legal, and highly doubt it would be legal as a "passenger vehicle", let us know if you find out otherwise though.
  5. i bought it like this, i may already have the new idle screw in there, not sure. first banshee, first 2 stroke, so allot of this is still greek to me. i dont really know much about tunin these carbs except the fact that you can burn pistons up if its outta whack. my biggest concern right now is gettin it runnin and idling good then fine tuning from there. the motor use to idle and rip no prob. i did some mild prting and then bored it .080 for a set of 66mm wsm. its runnin but the idle - 1/8 throttle has a bad bog. i just need to know what and how much to adjust. i have an idea just need a lil advice and some assurance from someone who actually knows what they are talkin about. i can email you a pic they may be too fine for the forum. let me know. thanks allot.
  6. I still have stock carbs and the tors is still mounted on the carbs but the wiring has been cut so they are not actually funtcioning. my question is, will the idle adj screws on the top of the tors still adj my idle? if not then where would i adj it now? last but not least, what is the crew with the lock nut just t the left of the mixture screw? any help on these damn carbs would help, i need some serious schooling on tuning these things lol. thanks allt guys/gals.
  7. im having a similar poblem with mine. i just rebuilt the top end, before that it ran fine until of course the piston fried lol. but either way i did nothing to the carbs adjustment wise, but now i also have a slight hesitation when i go to take off and it wont idle either. im not sure where the idle/air screws are at or where they should be at that matter, hell dont sound like i know much of anything huh. well im new to 2 stokes but man i love em now, except for all the tuning issues lol. but just to give you a base to start with here it is: 98 banshee 66mm pistons .080+ bore timing plate cool head 21cc domes billet clutch basket hinson hd clutch jetting is good (as far as i know) fmf reed valves w/spacers stock 28mm mikuni round slides w/tors K&N filter w/foam outerwear no lid on box boost bottle toomey t5 pipes stock ignition system '72+ sea level i think thats maybe im gettin too much air in the carbs? any help would be greatly appreciated.
  8. not to sound blunt but im not really interested in what mods and jetting other people are having. i need more specific instruction for my own. also im sure there is some way to get a close estimate as to what the jetting should be just by knowing how it is set up, and chopping plugs all the time seems a bit troubling just to check the jetting. it just seems that there would be a more sensible way of doing these things. again like i said im not tryin to sound too blunt or insult anyone by any means im just new to the 2 strokes and seems to me there would just be more reasonable ways to do things. thanks again for everyones input.
  9. well i bought it used and after about 2 mos i melted the top of the right side piston. the cap on that carb came off twice and i think that was part of why it detonated so bad, cause there was way to much air. but i have a k&n 2 into 1 filter with the foam pre filter and no snorkel or airbox lid. i dont know what jetting has been done nor do i know when the last time they were sync'd, but being that i just spent the money rebuilding the top end i would hate to burn it up cause of improper jetting. those numbers maybe a lil big like i said im new to this and after my calculation thats what i came up with but please feel free to make any corrections you can think of. also i plan to upgrade the carbs in the next few months and go with 34mm mmikuni flatslies. i just want to be able to make it run ight like it is for now at least to ride some and break in the new top end. thanks for all your input your help is much appreciated.
  10. Well I am new to the whole 2 stroke scene and so far it is not as simple as some may say. I have a 98 Banshee that I have tweeked a little but I need some guidance on the carb situation. First I need to make sure my jetting is right then also I need to make sure they are sync'd properly. So far I have 66mm pistons(.080+ Bore), Toomey T5 Pipes, Adj. Timing Plate(Need to check the advance), Billet Cluth Basket, Hinson HD Cluth, Pro Design Cool Head(22cc Domes), but unfortunately I'm still running the stock carbs w/ the tors system. Any illustrated instruction someone might have on the carb sync would be greatly appreciated. As far as the jetting i have an idea of what it should be at. Main Jets should be 370 - Pilot Jet should be 30 - and the needle clip should be at the 3rd - 4th ring. I also prolly need to adjust idle air screw too im sure, but again i need some guidance on that. I appreciate all the info you guys already have posted I have spent weeks pickin through all the different posts and theres allot of useful resources here. Thanks allot guys/gals.
