Have any of you guys rebuilt the motor by yourself? Beside getting the machine work done by shop, how difficult is it to build the motor on your own? I have over 14 years building street cars so I have a good mechanical background and tools. I figure it's a two stroke and has few parts, a simple valve train, so it shouldn't be hard, right??

Ya that's what I figured. I'm going to take into the local shop and have a pro look at the whole bike.

Just picked up my first banshee today, noticed a small pinhole in the left bank expansion chamber. the left bank smokes a little, doesn't on the right. Previous owner said it was for condensation this does not sound good to me, nor seam correct to me. This is my first two stroke guys so please help.. Just doesn't seam right to me. What do you guys think.

Hey hollister I just rode it for the first time, The power band is CRAZY but down in the low end it's just not even with my LTR. By no means am I disappointed, it just comes on in the mid range unlike I'm use to! She is pretty bad though, in my limited opinion. I won't make it out there until after 1 or so though. I have less than 1/8 of a tank in the thing. I need to go up to the local speed shop and grab some 110 fuel and pre-mix oil for it. I hope I run into you there so you could help me judge this thing. Like I stated before it's my first banshee, an expert opinion would be cool.

Well I think my LTR is pretty bad so if the banshee has more power I'll be impressed. It looks like the wife and I are heading up there tomorrow. I'm bringing the shee of course, so maybe I'll see you there. Should be there around 1000 or 1100. My rig is a 06 silverado SSL if you see it parked stop by!

I haven't even riden it yet. I get it delivered Friday after 3. So I'm chomping at the bit. I would imagine it should be just as fast if not faster than my LTR. I have never ridden a shee so it will be a new experiance. The last 2 stroke I rode was when I was 15, so it's been a while to say the least. I see you ride alot at Hollister, we should hook up some time? I don't see that many 2 stroke's out there often. Probably cause the sticker crap!

I guess ride it when I don't feel like taken out the ltr. I like to have a little change of pace from time to time.

I live in seaside ca. The wife and I ride often at Hollister. I ride the LTR450 and she rides the 250EX. I just recenetely picked up a banshee on craigslist. I'm a member on the ltr450hq site, so I figured there's got to be a site for banshee's so here I am.
