  2. hey guys, this coming winter i plan on rebuilding my banshee motor. i want to send my cyl. to FAST and have them ported. the play/dune port. i do alot of woods riding but we also line them up for some drags. we have alot of 4pokes and bikes that ride with us. i don't want to do anything to agressive but i also want ot be one of the quickest we ride with. since i'm going to have the motor apart should i go ahead and put a 4 mil stroker crank in or just do the porting? i shouldn't have to mod the cases for the 4 mil should i? my current mods : bored .20 , reeds and reed cages, clamp on K&N's , fmf fatty's , power core 2's , 300 mains , 27.5 pilots, new needles in the third clip. any help would be great. oh , if i had to change pipes i would if helps the mods i'll be doing.
  3. they do aftermarket . i'm not sure about stock. check em out their prices are great. Moto-man.com i went in to the local dealer to buy a 4x4 for hunting. i just got done raking leaves in the yard (it was early nov.) and they didn't even want to help me. the salesman was cool but the other people sucked .
  4. i've ordered parts from a few mail order places. i've ordered the most from MOTO-MAN out of MI. they have their stuff together. they send you emails with the tracking number and it lists what time it was picked up by fed ex, what fed ex lacation , delivery date. just wanted to share. they are always nice on the phone , helpful. it's a nice change of pace from the local yamaaha dealer. they don't want nothing to do with you unless you dropping a couple of G's .
  5. i went riding yesterday. the trails had a little mud and these things hooked in the mud. i couldn't believe it. i'm going to order a set of fronts.
  6. i've got coolant, it's the crap from the yamaha dealer. i have engine ice(?) coming this week. i planned on a billet impeler next winter. i'm going to tear it down and do a complete rebuild.not running lean either. i check the plugs after every ride to make sure. nope no donuts. just riding.
  7. i went riding today and i was running it kind of hard. going on some trails at my brothers house with a XR400. when i stopped for some gas i noticed that the coupler that is where the stinger and pipe meet melting a little. i have fmf fatty's. any help would be great. also. i beat this XR400 by a couple of lengths yesterday. today he took the baffle out of the muffler and stayed dead even. the XR is stock. I am bored .20 over, reeds and reed cages, K&N clamp ons, fmf fatty's and power core 2's , and brand new holeshot gncc's. i still have the stock sprockets front and rear. should i do a timing plate and/or do some sprockets ? i have a T.O.R.S. elemination kit arriving sometime this week.
  8. bought a set last week and got to ride today. i can't believe how good they hook up. they hooked up on hard packed dirt , in the tall grass, everywhere. great tires. just thought i would share
  9. i would prefer to run pump, but i have no problem running race. i think the elevation is around 765
  10. i'm thinking about buying a F.A.S.T. head. what size domes should i buy> MODS: bored .20 vito's power pistons , vito's reeds and reed cages , clamp on K&N's , fmf fatty's and power core 2's. my jetts are 300 main ., 30 pilots and new needles. any help would be great. thanks.
  11. i have 300 mains, 27.5 pilots, bored .20 over with vito's power pistons, vito's reeds and reed cages, clamp on k&n's, boost bottle, and fmf fatty's and power core 2's. we just rebuilt the top end. we jetted it for the pipes. then i put them on. is there a way to get the discoloration off?

  13. i'm going to buy some new tires. i've been looking at afew diff. one's. the holeshot xrc , the holeshot at, the holeshot hd and the maxxis razr 2's. which tire is the best option? i ride trail some straight drags with friends and some empty fields(grass,corn,bean, dirt). thanks for any help.
  14. just got done riding my banshee. pulled the plugs and they look perfect. i did notice the left pipe has some discoloring . it's onlt the first 6-8 inches of the pipe. it's only the left side. is this normal? this is my first banshee. sorry if it's a stupid question. the pipes are fmf fatty's.
  15. stock tire size for the rear is 20x10x9 . would 20x11x9 work ???

Well i feel like a complete jackass!! i came home from work tonight and figured i would take another look at the carbs and everything AGAIN. i read a post about the slides being in the wrong carbs. . well, they were, and one was backwards. i didn't even notice it when i had cleaned the carbs 3 0r 4 times in the last week. she idles great and runs like a raped ape. THANKYOU EVERYONE FOR ALL OF THE HELP. I REALLY APPRECIATE IT. YOU ARE ALL GREAT PEOPLE. THANKYOU AGAIN.
  18. if it more than 1.5 turns out it needs bigger pilots. this always gets me. help please
  19. sparke plugs looked wet until i changed the jetting. now they look good. compression is awesome. top end with all of the mods has maybe 7 hours on it
  20. i bought it dirt cheap. it needed an top end rebuild. i rebuilt the top end .20 over with vito's power pistons, added a boost bottle, rejetted it. it ran awesome. (main jett-300, new needles-3rd clip, 30 pilots) . then i added vito's reeds and reed cages along with clamp on K&N's. ran better than i ever wanted it to. then i added FMF fatty's with power core 2's. the left cyl. barely runs until you give it gas. checked compression, took the carbs apart 2 time and cleaned and tried diff. jett sizes( i have 200's , 260's , 290's and 300's).still nothing. i can get it to idle but it is real high. checked all of the electrical connections, they are good. i even took the left pipe off put it on the atv jack and looked in the exh. hole for damage. nothing. i have tried swaping the plug wires , everything. THANKYOU FOR ANYHELPAND INFO ANYONE MAY HAVE.
  21. this thing is getting to the point of me wanting to sell it. my wife says not, to go ahead and ix it. i have already put $1200.00 into it. within the next two weeks prob. $500.00 more. if the T.O.R.S. elimnation kit doesn't do, and if a new nology coiland wires don't do itand if a new cdi boxdon't do it. the last resort will be the stator. if that doesn't do it it will be for sale.
  22. i went ahaead and pulled the left pipe to check for any damage. none. double checked all electrical conn. , nothing . i'm going to order the T.O.R.S. elemination kit. get rid of the electrical stuff that isn't needed. if that doesn't work, i'm going to order a new ignition (nology) and cdi box , after that, a anew stator. then almost everything will be replaced. if that don't work it's going up for sale cheap!!!!
  23. i've tried it. still does it. took the carbs apart agian , cleaned them again. could it be the ignition or the cdi box? if i can't get it figured out i may go ahead and pay the local yamaha dealer to fix it. i don't want to take it there, they are $60.00a hour , but if it gets it running right . it's just very frustrating.   25. i bought a 2001 form a person about 2 months ago. i only paid $500.00 for it. it had a broke piston. i had the cyl. bored .20 over, we jetted it with new needles, 300 mains and i believe 30 pilots. ran like a champ. then i added reeds and reed cages with clamp on K&N's , ran even better. then i put FMF Fatty's on with power core 2's. never even got to ride it. the left side won't idle . i can turn the screw on top of the carb and it will idle but it really high. if i give it gas the left cyl. will run perfect. i took the plug out and it is wet. i have switched the plugs wire -put the right on the left and the left on the right . still does it. so it doesn't seem electrical. checked compression, it's good, have re-torqued all of the top end bolts and sprayed carb cleaner around the intake to check for a leak. my guess is the jetting . i talked to the local yamaha dealer and he told me to take the left pipe off and look to see if it is seized or if there are wear marks. i wouldn't have compression if it were seized would i. the top end has at max 7 hour on it . thank you for any help.
