I've ran motul on my sons yz125 and on my two banshees since 2007 with no problems what so ever. friend of mine once helped me to replace the pistons on the yz and he couldnt believe the condition the sleeves were in. My son rode competition on the yz about every weekend up to to the end of 2010 and i've never even rebored the barrels they are still standard. I love motul but they are a bit expensive.

Best filter for Dirtbike in SAND?
w2banshee replied to NYCBanshee7's topic in Banshee Repairs and Mods
Just like to add to my previous post.Forgot to tel ya. Friend of mine changed the pistons on my sons yz125(second set)about 2 weeks ago and told me that the barrel looks brand new so that also tells me that no shit gets through that notoil filters.Like ive said he rides a lot in dust. One race is 6-7laps one lap is 18miles long 2 races a month and practising on farm you make the maths. I know a lot of people believe in K&N filters but personally i believe in foam filters. My son is also lazy when it comes to cleaning his bike and i make him clean his airflter after every race and the notoil is easy and fast to clean. Just my 02 cents. Awesome little bike hope you enjoy yours as must as my son enjoys his 125. -
Best filter for Dirtbike in SAND?

Dont know what you guys think of the NOTOIL filters.Ive been using them on my sons yz 125 for the last two years now with out any problems and he rides in a lot of dust,on competition days theirs between 100 to 140 bikes and a lot of dust.It is also quick to clean and not to much hassles. -
Got hold of another stock banshee today and did the same measurments as i did with mine and the gap between rope and front wheels are the same on both sides. I seriously dont no what is wrong with my shee.Ive looked at the spacers,rims,a-arms even took mesurements fom back axle to the foot pegs ,its the same.Spoke to another guy about it today as well and the only thing i can think of is that the frame must be bend or twisted. Ive never rolled or had any major accidents, although the off-roads ive competed in were rough on the shee.Is it possible that the frame can bent that easy? Is it possible that it can be a factory fault?I seriously cant think that the frame can bent with the type of riding ive been doing,i dont even do jumps with her (the odd small one on race day but nothing major like going to mx track).

Went to check out swingarm and carrier the amount of threads on both the adjusment bolt the same as i got it out of shop. This is really messing with my head. If their is someone reading this that got a stock banshee will you not go and see if this is also the same with your shee please. Will take you not more then two minutes and a peace of rope. Will take more photos.

The spacers at the rear are the same width. Spacers in front are same width. The rear axle is sill stock axle. Will inspect front a-arms and tei rods later.(1.30am in south africa must get some sleep) The whole suspension of shee is as i bouhgt it brand new.Just added the wheel spacers Will take more photos and post them. Dont know if this photo will help. Thank you for interest

Needed money urgently so i took my banshee to local dealer and put it on their floor to sell. Also had my 4runner for sale and the gods where very good to me for my 4runner sold first so i went and took my banshee back.Must say i was praying very hard that my banshee doesnt get sold and it all worked out good. While i got all your attention would like to ask you what you make of this. My suspension on my shee is stock, spacers on back and spacers on front. If i take a rope from my back wheel to front wheel on right side i can put almost 4 fingers between rope and front tyre and if i do the same on the left side i can only put one finger between rope and front tyre.Hope what i am trying say make sense. Will try and put picture up. I would like to know if my frame is bend or is this normal. It doesnt make sense to me.

Sorry to hear the bad news.My prayers will be with your sister and family.Be strong man and i hope she will recover and that we will be hearing good news soon.

Ive bought one for my banshee and i like it a lot especially if i am riding long off road races. On my sons banshee ive just put a plastic pipe over the thumd throttle to extend it and it works just as well not so good looking but it works fine.Try it first with the plastic pipe and then see if it is comfertable and then go and buy one.

Welcome. What kind of riding do you do over their? Is their a lot of banshees in Australia?
-
What is there not to love about the banshee. Its got everything, power, speed, looks, the sound, the smell of 2stroke and the adrenalin when you ride it and everywhere you go the people still come and check out your shee. I am also an old fart 43 and one regret that i've got is that it took me to far to long before i owened one.I've got two in my garage and believe me if i had the money i would own a couple more. Banshees rock.

Welcome .Also had raptor 660 for couple of months then i read about the banshee in magazine, went out to buy one for my son with out even test riding one.Took it for a spin around the farm and within a month traded my raptor for another banshee. All i can say it is awesome riding a 2stroke.Hope you enjoy it as much as me and my son enjoys our shees.

My son is only 16 so he can do this year and next years racing in the 125 class so i think for now it is worth the affort to soop up the 125 a little, and yes a friend of mine just bought his son the yz250 ya what can i say awesome bike. In one of our national off road events two 125 were in the top ten finish just shows you what you can do on a 125.

Thanks for all the advise that is what i want to see.The people around here either dont want to give away their secrets or they just act stupid.I just dont get any feedback on what to do on the yz,all they tell me is to put on smaller sprocket on the back.Even on the banshees i didnt get any feedback. For example i've read a lot on advancing your timing, tors removal and a lot of other stuff and if i mention it to a mechanic they either say it wont work or they dont now anything about it.Thing is their isnt really a lot of people around here that can give you good advise on the banshees. Some more pictures.

Need to safe up more money as you can see from my previous post aftermarket stuff very expensive.I definately would like to get me the trinity pipes.Did a lot of searching the last two years on the site and i've picked up that the people on here dont like the trinity to much but to me it sounds like a good quality pipe.Friend of mine that is a importer is busy to get the agency for trinity in south africa so hopefully one of these days i will get my pipes ,already got my v-force reed valves waiting in the garage. Got to get the yz to go faster for now. The yellow shee has been in the war big time already.Took my son to the oval track couples of months after i bought it and he flipped the shee on the corner on oil.lots of damage.Want to do it over some time soon.

Yes read a lot of bad things about the boost bottle, will probably take it out some time soon. The guy that work on the engine said i must put on boost bottle. The thing with me is that i am totally a novice when it comes to working on the bikes to scared i do something wrong.I can change the plug and the tires and that is about it.Taking it to a mechanic all the time is costing me to much. I am probably not trying hard enough, will work on it. Yes the exchange rate is close to R10 to the dollar.I see you pay 3000-4000 dollars more or less if i remeber right for a new banshee.I paid R45 000 rand for my new banshee. My sons yz 125 cost me R43 000 last year,2009 model is gonna cost me now roughly R47 000 .To give you a better idea for a young guy that is starting to work in south africa with out qualifications he will be lucky to earn more than R5000 a month. My oldest son just finished school went to work for R3500 just to see if he likes the work. You can do the maths how long it will take him to be able to buy him a new bike or quad.So yes all the parts come from america and it cost us fortune to put aftermarket products on.Another reason is you get importers that imports the products and then sell it to the dealers wich sells it to us so two markups before we buy it.Some people try to buy direct from america to try and cut out the middle man.

Thanks for the advise. I was thinking of doing a port job as well but getting somebody reliable were i am living to do it is a nother story. In previous posts that i've read on here it sounds like it is not anybody that can do a good port job. If i do a port job and reed valves without putting a aftermarket pipe will it be worth the excercise and if one do a port job with out the reeds will that also work. I am trying for hours now to try and upload photos.Hope it works.

Thank you for the welcome.Meaning to write for long time.Rather late then never.Like i said i've done alot of searching on this forum and if you search long enough you will get what you are looking for. Never had problems with my banshees.I;ve done a couple of races with my stock banshee and never had any problems.Me and my son are the only banshees racing in our local races and it is going very well. This season we are not racing to much money lol. I am going to try put some pic up on the next day or two for their is something that is not making sense on my banshee and hopefully one of you guys will be able to tell me what is wrong. I know that it is and old topic but shit this sport is very expensive. We get all our bling and other aftermarket parts from the good old usa and with the exchange rate by the time we get it it cost us a fortune, your price x10 and then postage and tax must also be added. Looking at all your cool bikes the last two years on this forum had me blue from jealousy. Thanks for the reply regarding the yz will definetaly look into it and will probebly ask some more questions later.First got to put in new pistons in the next couple of days and then i want to see what i must do regarding the holes in the airbox. I am trying to get the yz to go a little faster without compromising reliability. My youngest son is still racing this season and he is racing against the 250 4-stroke bikes and i can see that he is just not fast enough. I was thinking in putting on aftermarket pipe but a friend told me it is not worth the money, therefore i was thinking of doing other stuff like holes in the airbox to breath better and the sprockets. If their is any other good tricks you guys must tell me please. Thanks again
