  1. Anyone here running the T-5's with just the plain steel finish? If so have you noticed any problems? Do they seem to want to rust up or anything like that? I have to admit, I was looking to go cheap with 2 sets but don't want them deteriorating on me faster than they should!!! Thanks to all
  2. Only about 300 ft. I think on my other bike I am running either 300, 310, or 320. i don't remember for sure. I actually just found out that power brokerz will sell the toomey banshee needles seperately for $25 ea. Still a bit steep but if it is better.....
  3. Quick question for those who may know. I am looking at putting t-5's on 2 banshees also will be removing air box and going to K&N pods. I allready have one bike set up this way. My question is about the jet kit that comes with T-5 pipes. I know they call it the "The Toomey Perfect Jet" kit but I believe it is a Dynojet kit. The only part of the kit I really will "need" is the needles. The 270 and 280 mains are too small for this application where I live, obviously won't need the airbox vents or the uni filter they send with. Is it completely necessary to use their needles and buy the whole kit just to get those couple pieces or is it possible to run the stock needles with different mains, clip position, etc... I guess it really doesn't require that much money to do so. I just hate paying them for something I don't even need!!! I have called and asked Dynojet about purchasing needles only but they will not do that, of course they wouldn't be able to charge me for all the needless crap and colect a little more. Thanks in advance to all who keep the HQ rollin'
  4. http://www.dfn.com/benkaren/jetfaq.html I thought this was great information and helped alot.
  5. Thanks, I picked up jets from 300 to 340 also got set of 27.5 pilots. Gonna start with 320's, maybe 330's just to be safe, and go from there. Only problem with WOT testing Is I don't know of many places where I can get out and actually get through all the gears at WOT. But I will find a way. Are there any tricks to WOT testing where you don't necessarily have to ride the bike through the gears. Like blocking up rear and dragging the brakes to give resistance. Thanks again
  6. PLEASE Dont slaughter me for the monotony  Any who, serviced bike on saturday and pissed about the amount of sand getting past my Pro Design foam filter so I am going to try the K&N Pods. Just was wondering how much this change may affect my jetting I am sure I will probably have to go bigger correct. Any input on how much bigger. Maybe 300? Here are current stats T5 Pipes VForce 3's 280 Mains 4th groove on needle #25 pilot 1.5 turns out Currently Pro Design Kit in box with air vents and no snorkle As Always Thanks to all
  7. I should be in the Astoria area from July 26th thru August 5th. Are there any good place to ride near that area? I know Florence and Winchester are south a ways but anything closer? Thanks to all
  8. QUICKSAND's are on the way!!!!!! Gary is sending me a sample of the powdercoating in yellow to see how it looks against the 2006 special ed. yamaha yellow. If that doesn't look very well will be going black or the matte silver/aluminum? anyway same color as frame. Also ordered the Elka Piggy Backs with comp. adj. should see them in a week or two. Roost isn't Beverly where the kid died earlier this year? As farr as meeting up at Juniper, anytime just give a hollar. I have been working a lot so I have to prepare a little. Thanks to all
  9. RoostRocket I am located in the Dri Shitties, "Tri-Cities". I do most of my riding at Juniper and Moses Lake. I did talk with Gary on the phone yesterday and he sounded like a great guy and even provided extra information on some questions about the shocks and other things. I think I will end up going with the quicksands and some elkas up front and eventually the elka link in the rear. It also appears that Gary has a lot of happy customers here at the HQ. I have got the Special Edition 2006 in the yellow and black so I am trying to figure out if I want to go with black, yellow, or the frame color for them. Any pics or opinions on color???
  10. Not wanting to start a war but, I am in the process of trying to decide which A-arms to go with. Partly Desire, because of the Banshee's poor stock setup, and partly necessity, because I have tweaked both of my stock uppers jumping a little to much. I have come accross Lone Stars sport and rec arms for about $450 and the Quicksands for about $550. Does anyone have any comparisons between the two? I am interested in their durability, guarantee and or warranty. I ride mostly dunes and desert trails. I love flying off of the peaks and smashing the woops. If anyone can provide me a little help here I would greatly appreciate it. And yes I have done a search here........ Thanks
  11. Finally got them installed and after tweeking a neddle "Thats another Post and story of its own." and getting another one in (should have ordered an entire jet kit for what it costs to order one needle). I must say there were no disappointments once I got to ride them. As far as wheelies go definately not a problem except for maybe the slow rollers in first gear. I guess I will just have to ride them faster!!!!!!!!!!! I still need to get out and do the WOT test but everything seems great, the sum bitch rips now as compared to stock. It is almost hard to believe pipes can make such a big difference. I may try the T6's on my other shee since I don't plan on any major porting or anything like that,,,,,, to soon anyways. Next I think will be the V3 reeds and Fullflight +2 +1 A-Arms with Elkas and maybe the Elka rear link and shock. When I figure out how I will have to post a pic sometime. Thanks to all the great peeps here for the SUPPORT a newbee needs.
  12. Thanks to all. I decided to wait until i could get another ordered in. Hopefully I can order just the needles from Toomey or Dyno Jet Co. Does anyone know any other place they might be found? Other than that the installation went great. Also have a question for WOT test, can you do it with the bike on a stand or do you need the resistance of the ground to the drive train of the bike to get an accurate reading. Where I ride there are not any spaces I can think I would have enough distance to get WIDE OPEN in 6th gear before cutting engine. But if I could hang the ass end in the air from a forklift or stand maybe even apply a little light pressure to the rear brake to increase resistance on the drive train....... Let me know....... Thanks to all
  13. As previously mentioned I am putting new T5's on my SHEE today. While rejetting I dropped a slide and needle assembly tweeking the new needle. It is a dyno jet kit that comes with the T5 pipes. Can the stock needles be used or do I need to, and would it be best to wait until I Can get another needle from toomey or Dyno Jet Corp.? Many Thanks
  14. Got them Friday will be installing Saturday hopefully with no problems if so I will be looking you guys up.
  15. THEY ARE ON THE WAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Ordered them first thing Wednesday morning!
  16. OK so the kit sounds good. Best bet to remove airbox lid entirely, cut back section off, or use the airbox vents? I guess all that depends upon riding conditions. I will be placing the order first thing Wednesday morning. Hopefully all of the jetting instructions are complete and work well if not you and I all know where I will be going to for help the HQ. Thanks to all
  17. I really did not want to get to carried away with mods right now and I really don't want to lose any bottom end. Makes me wonder if T5's are my best choice? I ride dunes and trails and know I scream around WFO in the dunes and the Toomey's would be great for just that but I also love riding the hell out of wheelies which I can do now ripping the hell out of a brodie and standing her on her tail then seeing how long I can keep the bitch there before falling on my back most of the times. Also thrashing myself through the woops on trails. Losing the bottom would make wheelies harder. How noticeable is the loss at the bottom I guess is what I really need to know???
  18. Also people complain alot about the bottom end of the T5's, but they still have to be better than stock pipes are at the bottom end aren't they?
  19. The kit is the same one from toomey through ROCKYMOUNTAINATV.COM. Comes with the DYNO PERFECT JET KIT and UNI-FILTER.
  20. OK I am going to do it and order some TOOMEY T5'S!!!!!!! I will also be going to the PRO DESIGN PRO FLOW set up and either removing airbox lid or using the airbox vents. Question is the kit comes with 270 and 280 mains for rejetting are these going to be sufficient. Bone stock machine is jetted with 200 mains. I am in the Tri-Cities in Washington State and elevation is only about 300 feet, and usually ride around 45 to 95 degrees throughout the year. If not it would be cheaper for me to buy the pipes without the kit and just get some jets from local shop.
  21. I wasn't going to go to radical with modifications for quite some time other than Pipes, Filter, and VForce Reeds. Then was going to hit up suspension mods. Thanks To everyone Any More Opinions??
  22. Thanks to all who have replied. Don't be afraid to keep more coming
  23. Hey I am new to the site and think the info that is shared here is awesome. Just purchased two new 2006 shees on FRIDAY and am looking to start the mayhem of modifications. I spend most of the time riding around in the dunes but also trail a little. Which do you peoples think would be a better overall pipe for most applications? Right now everything is bone stock and was going to start with the pipes and filter upgrades with more to come later. Was looking to chose between Fatty's and TR6's! Thanks
