  1. Hey guys here is an update. Today. I removed the carbs cleaned them. I then advanced the timing +4 degrees and checked the pickup space. It was at 0.20 I set the air screws at 2 turns out. I then let the bike warm up and took it for a ride. It still has the same dam problem. When you first give it gas it hesitates before it takes off. You actually have to play with the throttle to get it past that point then she takes off. Once you slow back down and stop she does it again every time. Puzzled ???????????????????
  2. I replaced the same parts and it ended up being my CDI Box.
  3. I will advance to +4 set the air screws 2 out. I cleaned the carbs before I installed them and did sync the carbs. Do you know what the compression should be? Hey thanks for your help. Derek
  4. The exhaust and intake are stock. Just a boost bottle. The jetting is all stock. What ever yamaha put in there. I am currently running 93 and will turn the timing ahead. Thanks. What exactly is tdc when ot comes to the timing plate ? Also I never messed with the air screws. What should they be at? Thanks.
  5. Hey Guys. Just got done fixing up a Banshee that I bought. Need some help on a problem I'm having. I purchased a 1996 banshee. It was in need of some parts as it did not run due to no spark. Here is a list of the parts I put on: *set of 06 stock carbs *Ricky Stator Adj. Timing Plate,Pick up and CDI Box. * Pro Comp. Tors removal kit. My spark issue ended up being the CDI. The problem I now have is the bike seems to bogg in acceleration right as I go to take off. Once I get past that spot she runs ok. Sometime it will pop or backfire a little bit. Something just is not right. I was wondering if maybe it was the timing. I set the timing mark on the zero mark where the casings meet. Do you think that is correct or maybe it needs to go back or forward more a bit ? Any suggestions are much appreciated.
  6. My bike is all stock except for replacing the Stator,Pickup,Flywheel and CDI box from RM Stator.com. It did come with a adjustable timing plate which is set now at 0. Would the timing have anything to do with the hesitation? I wouldnt guess it was the Jetting as the carbs are new and set stock jetting.
  7. Hey guys. Hope some one could help me here. I recently put some new items on my 96 Banshee. I purchased two new stock carbs and got the Motion Pro Tors removal kit. I now am finding out after reading past posts that I have to grind more off the posts on the side of the carbs to get the idle screws to work properly. My questions are: On the motion Pro kit the idles screws they give you have locking nuts on them. On the one idle screw the nut will adjust all the way back. On the other it stops about 1/8 of an inch from the end of the screw. Does it matter which idle screw goes into the carbs as they are different? Also I noticed that one side smokes a little more than the other and there seems to be a dead spot on acceleration at first when taking off in first gear. Is this due to the idle adjustment screws not working properly? Any advice here is much appreciated. Thanks, D
  8. I recently had a problem with my Banshee running on only one cylinder. I read a post where some one said the slides may be in the wrong carb. That was the problem. Runs fine now. Thanks to you. D
  9. Hey guys you probably read my post about no spark on my shee. I was wondering if any one out there had a stock CDi unit that would fit my 1996 Banshee. I know many of you have one lying around in a box. Looking to borrow or get one cheap to figure out if mine is bad. thanks, Derek
  10. Need stator and pick up for 1996 Banshee.
  11. Hi Guys. I was hoping one of you tech guys could answer my question. My 1996 banshee would not start so I tied a rope to it and had my friend pop start me. He had to pull me about 50 yards before it finally started but it would not stay running. It reved out and ran for a short time but would backfire and stall out. When I got home I pulled the plugs and checked for spark. Neither of the plugs had spark.( The plugs are both new.) Once again I had my friend pop me and the bike started up but wanted to die and ran like crap. I took my coil out and put it on my friends bike and it ran fine. So I know its not the coil. His bike was a 1999 so I could not do the same with the CDI unit. What do you guys think the problem is. CDI,Stator,Pick up ???? Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks, Derek
