Screw it, it says the photos too big. I got new pistons, rings, whole top and honed out ready to go to put it back together and I will ditch the Klotz I've been using and go back to 927. Never had trouble till I switched oil.
-
I can take one when I get home. I don't think the piston was going to stick, and there's really no build up.
-
I took the jugs and had them honed. I could not get the ring out of one piston. New pistons etc. Now I need to get her together for glamis next week. I wish I knew what caused this. Oil?

hey guys, been awhile since I've posted. I was checking compression and found to be a little low. I found the bottom rings stuck on both pistons. Any reason for this? Should i yank the rings and just get new ones? Cylinders look good still.

ok so i think its a 280 main go down to a 265 main for up north , ?
2-1 carb works great, i smoke my buddies with dual 30's with motor work , but then again there is so many factors,
i was told i should have 59 or 69 hp the guy i bought it from didnt know,
he said labor alone was 1700
if 2 into 1 slows u down i would hate to throw a dual carb set up on here , i cant keep it straight or on 4 wheels now
start there, bring some extras down to 250. I ran 310's and dropped to 280's with stock carbs. I haven't ridden up there since I installed my 35's.

sounds like the mains are way too big. Have you done a leakdown just to make sure everything is nice and tight first? Also do a comp. check. Whats your elevation?
-
no answer on the hp. i usually drop 3 jet sizes going from phx to flag. that goes for my Banshee and Blasters.
-
you have good fuel to both carbs? 100% positive both carbs are clean? hmmmm
float level good?
-
ok well did the test and its good i got it running but it wont idle and it seems like the right cylinder isnt firing it ran great for like 3mins lol then it started to bog so im hoping its just a plug and need to get the fuel air mix right we will see
did you clean your carbs good? You may want to do a compression test and see where your at. Turn the air screws 1.5 turns out and see if that helps at all. How do the plugs look? I'm at North Glendale.

I´m at 300ft´s ASL.
I´m sorry, I re-read your post and you were right, your pilots were too small if you have to turn the airscrew all in and it runs better that way.
HEHEE!! Kevins port work offers alot more bottom end power than mine does!
However, I have now a set of CEL needles and I´m going to use them after I´ll get my motor back together. We´ll see if I have to go bigger pilots then. My current needles are guite rich down low.

What's the deal with the 35.5 size? Mine are 35. I'm at 1800 ft asl. Kevin does have some great work. Now I can go test it now that I'm jetted properly.
-
Okay, i just installed the 50 pilots and she is rippin great. No bogg at all. Thanks for all your help fellas. lol
-
Damn,what elevation are you?
-
Well so after doing some more rerading,it looks like I need 1 size larger on the pilot.
-
so I been working on getting my jetting dialed in. I have HJR port, stock stroke,35 PWK's. I had this terrible bog off idle. So I turned the air screw in and it's a ton better. Now the screw is about .5 tuns out, from what I gather I need a smaller pilot jet. Is this right? Currently it has 152 mains, 48 pilot, CEL middle clip. The motor rips all the way to the top with just a tad of bog off idle. Suggestions please!
