hey guys I was just wondering if anyone who is around ga would be willing to help me put my banshee back together . I have been out of it for nearly 2 years . I gave my banshee to my nephew to try to keep him out of trouble , but he recently got involved in drugs , and is in juvenile . It is stripped down to the frame because he was going to powdercoat the frame etc . I just wanna get it put back together , I'm pretty illiterate on doing these kind of things . I would take it to the yamaha shop , but they probably charge me more than it's worth , and take forever . Thanks for the info

what kinda " effects " can be done to powdercoating
banshee30705 replied to [email protected]'s topic in Banshee Appearance
I found a guy the other day here in my hometown who does it . He can do any color glow in the dark , whatever or customize your color . I'm going to have him do my frame unsure on color yet because too many options he showed me . He is making me a scrap piece with a color he came up with to see if I like it . It was kinda of a candy blue metallic that changes colors in sunlight it was pretty wild looking . He showed me some finished pieces he had done and beat the hell out of them with a hammer , and it did'nt really affect the finish . -
sorry it took so long to get back . I found a guy the other day who the yamaha shop recommended he does good work , and is only about 10 minutes from me . I think his pricing is fair he will paint the frame any color you want for $150 dollars or custom colors 225 . He is located in chatsworth ga about 20 minutes from dalton

yeah I remember watching a show where the crew were divided into teams . Boyd built a car and the other guys built a truck , and they had to drive the cars like 700 miles to the event . Alot of problems for both teams , but if I remember correct Boyd won . I enjoyed his show , he was the man

I have run the fmf fatties and the pro circuits . They are both good pipes , but I personally like the pro circuits better . The sound in my opinion is better , and a better power curve . They hit pretty hard on bottom , and have a better topend than the fatties , but then again this was on my bike . pro design cool head 19cc domes v-force 2's 34pj carbs no airbox running 6 inch pods stock porting .

e-bay 135 mph banshee , yeah right
banshee30705 replied to banshee30705's topic in General Banshee Discussion
lmao purple and pink powerbands , and boost bottle . I think he may need to check his jetting if he's only hitting 135mph topend . My banshee easily hit 200 the day I bought it from the yamaha shop :yelrotflmao: -
It's funny what some people will write trying to sell something . I found a banshee on e-bay stock cylinders with a port job and cpi's . The seller said (quote) This is not a kid's toy been clocked by the law at 135 mph LMAO . Maybe he wants to race my lt 80 been clocked at 200 mph going down a mountain with no brakes in a tornado. :yelrotflmao:

how much are a arms set worth?
banshee30705 replied to maxb750's topic in For Sale - Parts & Accessories
well it all depends on if they are factory or not , what kind of finish , standard or long travel , there is alot of if's here , and how good of condition they are in . posting some pics would help , however if they are stock it would'nt be that much too many aftermarket arms that are way better for about the same price of buying a new set of factory from the yamaha shop -

If you decide to part the bike shoot me a pm I'm only 30 minutes from you in dalton ga . I may be interested in the motor and the swinger -
hey everyone , my friend wanted me to post this . He has a stock 2006 model yfz 450 all except a pipe . He said the yamaha shop supposably rejetted it when they put the pipe on . According to him the bike runs fine intil you hit topend then it cuts out . I told him it sounds like a possible jetting issue to me , but then again I'm no mechanic especially on them . I'm going to go ride the bike tommorrow , and see if I can't help him out . What do you guys think ?

hey everyone I just recently purchased a 74 ss nova , that I'm gonna restore . I have'nt had any problems finding parts with the exception of a grill . My question is does anyone know where I might find one , or if there is anyway you can make a 72 grill fit . I've been told the 72's would work with modifications done , but I don't know . I have tried yearone , classic industries , j@w nova , just about all of them with no luck . the only place I found one was ebay and it was damaged pretty bad . All help is greatly appreciated this is my first restoration project and I need some help finding this part , thanks again

I have a dirt wheels mag forget what issue without looking , but anyway they test a modified outlander . They were testing it against a stock yfz 450 , and claimed that the outlander will beat the yfz pretty easily and tops out around 90 mph . I don't know though thats just what they say , but 90 mph on a 4x4 sounds hard to believe to me .

Thanks everyone , as for a date i'm not sure yet we buried him today . My wife seems to be doing ok but , it's going to take awhile she was very close to him . He was a musician and we would go sit with him every weekend and play music because that's what he loved to do . When he was diagnosed with cancer he couldn't go out and play in the band like he used to so we went to him . I took it on myself to learn how to play guitar so he would have someone to play with when he felt like it , and my wife would sing . This is what made him happy so this is what we tried to do , and when my wife realizes this weekend that he's not here it may be tough .
-
Yeah that would be cool , but my father -in- law passed away this friday and I've got to be with my wife she is taking it very hard so I may be tied up for awhile , but that's what I'm here for

I need to get with you guys and maybe go riding sometime , and no it's not that far to alabama from me I have friends who ride at Raccoon mountain over that way . They all tell me it's good riding , but I've never been so I don't know . The trails around here are ok well , some of them anyway , but they get old after riding them all the time .
-
I live in north ga about 15 minutes from dalton . I have been told there is good riding down south but never got to make the trip .
-
Atlanta is about a hour and a half from me I live in north ga in the big city of Chatsworth lol or if this helps 15 minutes from dalton
-
hey everybody just wondering if any of you hq'ers are from georgia I'm always looking for banshee riders in my area to maybe go riding with. thanks
-
thanks guys I'm going to check out all the recomendations , and see which ones I think will be the best for me . I just know I'm tired of fooling with factory a- arms just about everytime I ride this one trail my a-arms are getting bent up replaced them many times before going back with factory , and it's the same thing everytime . Looking on the bright side atleast I got them from a local 4- wheeler junkyard and he gives me fairly good prices , oh well guess you live and you learn all the money I spent on that crap I could have allready had good suspension lol .
-
as for the a arms + 2's should work fine and the shocks don't have to be adjustable I mean yeah I want the best for my money , but I can't see putting 2 or 3 thousand or more in suspension when I'll probably never race other than racing my buddies on the local trails . I guess I'm looking into somewhere between 1000 to 2000 bucks for everything . I mean honestly I'm pretty dumb on suspension but I just don't wanna buy something that I'll never really see the full benefits of . I just need them for wot trails with occassional hills and jumps nothing real bad. What setup do you guys think would work the best ? and thanks again for your time and help .
-
I am in the need for some a arms and shocks I would like to get like a package deal . I ride mostly wide open trails , but occasionly ride some trails with jumps and hills . I weigh 200 lbs I was thinking of maybe going with the alba kit , but I don't know everyone says there customer service sucks . I was thinking that I probably wanna get chrome arms because I'm in the process of dressing the bike up a little. If anyone has any suggestions please let me know , and thanks .
