  1. how can i test electrical parts with a multimeter? i just got one, but am not sure what to set it on. i need to test stators and cdi boxes.

ohms if your testing the items when its not running. and v~ (alternating current) when trying to test live wires. i think after the cdi box some wires might be dc so then you would put it on V-

  2. Your kidding right? :ninja:

in my case anyway. i ride trails with my shee and im sure if the main was a size or two off it wont blow up right away. anyways when i bought my banshee it had 240 mains that the guy ran for a couple years and it still runs mint. now it has 300s. anyway riding sleds they are at high constaint rpms for a long time, like holding it to the bar across the lake. which is alot worse then being on and off the throttle and having to shift with a banshee. and yes in my case i beleve my banshee will not blow up at quick as my sled with improper jetting.

  3. I know your taking about a banshee but i run a Digatron 50 Series DT-50S on my 800REV skidoo....i love it!!!

I would run egt gagues on a piped sled but in my banshee its probly cheeper to do more plug chops then spend $200+ on egt gauges, also banshees are not prone to blowing up as fast as a sled that isnt jetted right.

  4. those were some of the first fmf's ever made YES fmf did port work, YES those cylinders are ported YES pretty much any decent port job and pipes WILL out pull a stocker banshee with JUST pipes. not everyone threw all that old stuff away back in the days. and in the old days porters were making big bucks on banshee's.. you gotta rember these things have been around for a LONG time. finding a nice set up like that from wayyy back just goes to show just cause its NEW dosent mean its better... dont get me wrong pipe design and overall knowledge of other factors on banshee's have come a long way.. intake ports look pretty decent. and your going to hate changing plugs with those pipes!!!

thanks for the info, this thing is def. old school lol. and yes its a pain to change plugs. might get a set of dmc 916s for it soon to freashen it up a little.

  5. He is right, hard to tell without taking some measurements what kind of port it is. But from the looks of quality of work, it looks clean.

Who cares what it looks like., How does it run?

It runs great and pulls really hard. im still tuning it but pulls harder then a stock shee with t5s. spun my tires till 4th gear taking off on pavment. also i notest the reeds were alot different then my blasters, it has a smaller reed on top of the main reed that opens easyer. guessing its for better low end.

  6. yeah the guy i bought it from said when he rebuild it it had a port job but i guess ill have to take my reed cages out and take the exhaust off and look for myself. also it has more balls then my friends banshee w/ t5s so im guessing it must have a port job of some sort.

  7. anyone? I was probly thinking around 2k? any imput would be helpfull. The guy said the only thing thats an 87 on it is the frame ,but i think that includes the suspention. I also looked around and it seems that j arms are pretty good plus i like the the look of them.

  8. I was looking into getting this banshee and i was wondering what you guys think it's worth. It has fmf pipes (which look pretty old in the pictures), mid 90s engine with porting and crank was ballenced and welded, fairly new rebuild. frame look powder coated or somthing. and other things you can probly see in pictures. he aslo said it hass all new bearings and bushings. looks in fairly good condition.

  9. i finally put the outerwears over my k&n pod filters, here is the strange thing though, when i put them on it feels like its cutting out really bad and has about 1/2 the power it usually has, i took them back off and it screamed again, so does anyone know what could be causing this cuz i need the outerwears, oh yeah main jet 320, stock pilot, air screw 1.5 turns out, it was 65 out today, and elevation is apporx 700ft

i would go down on the main jet, but anyway whats the point of a k&n with an outerwear when you can just get a foam filter.
