  1. Haha thats quite alright. The knowledge comes with the shop tho. My father is a teacher who does small engines two and four stroke, machining and all that. So we can do what needs to be done there. But yeah thanks again. But callin Jeff is out of the question, the time difference and phone availability isn't the best here. If I can email him then that would be best. I hear he's on the boards somewhere. THanks -seth
  2. See, from the sounds a stroker isnt going to be extremely costly. Possibly a grand total. I'm not sure how much an agressive dune porting would cost done by someone who knows their shit. I live in northern Maine, not much for any agressive modder's around here so everything has to be done by myself or mailed out. So thats why I was thinking stroker, but I'd have to see what would need to be done to the heads to see if thats something we can mil oursevles here. I have a total machine/fabrication shop at my disposel so tahts not a problem. I'm just lookin for good playful mods and reliability. -seth
  3. Okay thats great info. Will I have to port the cyls if i want to run a stroker? I'm not looking for a huge gain, since I am just going to be playing with it. Possible I will just run a new head an domes, but strokers are nice and pretty easy to do. I know i am going to run an advanced timing plate, probably a +4 swing arm, not sure what else tho. Thinking of going down one on the front sprocket, just dont know quite which would be best to do internally for the engine. Lots of time to think about it, trying to get everyones opinions which all differ greatly but never hearts to hear it. I just hope everyone knows i'm not setting up to Dune or Drag, I just want to ride it with some extra power. Thanks for the help
  4. Hey thanks for the support everyone. Need all you can get sometimes over here. nicktoney: 2005 shee. oo la la NOSS Head 20cc domes Trinity Stage IV pipes Boysen power reeds K&N clamped inbox no snorkel +4 timing Kenda Knarly XC's. hook. Sounds like a good set up. Is there any machining needed with the heads an domes? What else can be added for bolt ons? Porting is an option. Live in northern Maine when I'm not over here, so winters are good time to tear it down and send off parts. I think that Jeff from FAST could probably explain things a little better. Another question, any good literature on the 'shee? Or even two strokes? First two stroke bike I've owned yet. Kinda like some repair manuals or some tuning guides? Anything like that. Thanks -seth
  5. I have an '03 Banshee, only has a Trinity exhaust on it so far. Point is, I cant leave anything alone. Have a Wolverine, wasn't enough. Needed the two stroke power. I have been looking on eBay at the mods they sell on there, brand new 4MM strokers for not a whole lot. No need to bore over, will be an easy mod to do. But thats alot of new torque to add on. What other mods would you recommend? I am currently in B-town Iraq, and wont be home until July, so I have some time to tinker with idea's before I get home and start getting the mods. I am planning on riding trails mainly, but just want to have some fun. I am buying an Outlander when I get home to toy with in the mud and normal trail rides, so the Banshee is more of a project and a crazy thrill after bein here for 17 months. So any help would be great. Thanks -seth
  6. Last post in someone else's topic I swear. LOL Look for my new one With the new domes, will it be needed to run a higher octane fuel? I was lookin at the 17cc domes and not really thinkin that it would be worth it. Timing plate is a must from everything I've been reading. Porting, how hard would that be to do in a machine/fab shop? My father and I have worked on shit like this, dont know if he is capable of doing a porting. Why get new cyl 's to do it? Dont understand that one. Are replacement cyl's that expensive anyway? Have looked at alot of stuff on eBay for sure and yeah, I dont ride in tanks, I ride in normal humvees doing my crap but we work with the tanks sometimes.
  7. So yeah, that wont work for me. I was looking at the 4MM strokers, but I'm not sure I want to put that much power in it right away. Its been a few years since I've ridden a banshee. Sprockets wont do much then I'll keep that in the back of my head. Hmm, what mods would you suggest since I already have exhaust... I was thinking about possibly extending the swing arm 4 inches, and I dunno what else. Probably should make my own thread and quit stealin someone elses. And yeah I am in B-town right now. Gotta love Iraq.
  8. I'm new myself, just picked up my first banshee while being deployed to Iraq, got it off of an eBay transaction. I have never sat on the bike, but have seen pictures and it is due at my brothers doorstep any day now. So I know most of the stuff listed, having ridden fourwheelers for some time now, but what exactly is haullers and what sprockets are best? I am going to mainly be riding normal trails an such. Just giving it hell. Possibly some snow, living in Northern Maine never quite know whats going to happen. So yeah thanks
