  2. This year at the planet sand drags there was only one 4 stroke that got into the 3's, at a 3.96 I believe (I think, but there might have been one other one). And Im pretty sure it is the world record for a 4 stroke (quad based motor). I have seen guys run faster times than that on a stock cylinder, stock stroke banshee. But from what I have heard floating around on planet sand, there are guna be some pretty fast 4 strokes down there next year. But I know they still aren't going to be close to the banshee's. As far as the turbo's go, there was a turbo banshee down at the PS races that had stock cylinders, stock carbs, and I think stock stroke and was running "3.60's". To me, that is quite impressive. Anyone else know the bike Im talking about, it had a yellowish green frame, and sounded sweet.
  3. The a arms are sold. Still got the pipes and carbs. Also found a stock grab bar that looks great, and some front brake disc.
  4. I think you will be fine with them. But I wouldn't recommend geting the huge spacers if you are planning on jumping a bunch. Just wouldn't trust them, I "have" heard of them breaking, in fact I had 2 studs break off the end of mine. The spacers I had on the front of my old trail banshee did great other than that though, just hard to load in the back of my truck, lol.
  5. Weighing and balancing the pistons is easy, you don't have to do it, thats just getting pretty nit picky about it, im sure you would be fine if you just got another piston to mach the one you already have. And yes weisco makes more than one kind of piston for a banshee.
  6. PJ's are definatly cheaper, but get the PWK's they are worth the extra money. I am 99% sure that you will make more power with the pwk's. If you are planning on drag racing, you will thank me, the PJ isn't a bad carb, infact I used to have PJ's, but if would have only known then what I do now, I would have got a PWK. As far as your porting, CALL K&T trust me, you will thank me. I don't know if you want to spend any more money but if you send your cylinders to K&T you will make gobs of power, and he is usually willing to work with you. Who ported your cylinders?
  7. Yes, make sure you get the exact same piston like the other one thats in there. As far as ballance of the pistons, I always ballance my pistons. Even a brand new set of weisco pistons can be 10-15 grams difference in them. Get a scale like used in a science lab, or you can probley buy one for like 15-20 bucks at a hobbie shop and then get a die grinder and very very slowly take small portions of metal out of the under side of the piston. I have always done this.....has worked well on several sets of pistons for me. You just have to be careful, but its easy.
  8. Also look for burnt spots on the domes, and you had a question about what detonation is, it usually happens from not running enough octane, or sometimes being very lean. I've replaced many a piston from detonation, also domes, and a crank or two.
  9. I also agree about the stock swinger idea. I figured if you had made up your mind about getting a new swinger, don't go over a plus 2, thats what I had on my trail bike, worked good. But you aren't going to have enough power to worry about kicking it back in any gear or anything. The stock one should work good too. I also agree.....once you start spending money on it, it will never stop, first a few hunderd.....then a thousand.......then 3-4 thousand. It never stops. lol BTW: 02Sandshee, you "should" be able to beat some 450's pretty damn good with those mods, unless they are modded pretty good......try gearing it up some, go with a 15 on the front. It helped my trail bike quite a bit when I had roughly the same mods you did and I could spank 450's and 660's most of the time.
  10. OK heres what you need to do. I agree, get the +2 swinger, not the +4 for trail riding. You can get one for the stock carrier on ebay for a 100 bucks brand new. Def. go with the T5's they are a much better pipe than the T6's. Get the v force reeds. Def. get an aftermarket head and go with the 21 or 22cc domes, the best reason to get an aftermarket head is when, not if, but when you blow it up, it is a lot easier and cheaper to replace the domes than buy a whole new head, or get the old one re machined. Get a trail port. And set of bigger carbs (which I have a set of 30mm pwk's I will let go pretty cheap and would work great on your set up). Do this and you will have great results, would be an AWSOME trail bike. You are looking at spending about a grand unless you buy everything brand new, then you are looking at quite a bit more.
  11. I have a set of pro circuit stainless pipes and silencers for sale. Also a set of +2 a-arms for sale. Not sure of the brand on the a-arms but I was told they were lonestar and they look just like the ones that lonestar makes. Chrome on a-arms looks good, there is a little bit chipping around where the shock mounts but isn't that noticable with the shocks mounted. As for the pipes they are in good used condition. They have a ding or two and are dull and are kinda stained where they mount to the cylinders, but they polish up pretty nice. Everything is in overall good condition. Would like to get 200 out of the pipes and 250 for the arms. Oh yeah, and they have adjustable/removable balljoint ends. PM with offers. Thanks Also have a stock front bumper and a stock rear grab bar both in good shape. make me an offer. ALMOST FORGOT, I have a set of look alike 30mm PWK'S, that are in great shape. Worked awsome on my 4mm. I have a pic of what they looked like when they were new. NOT A PIC OF MINE some just like mine.
