I got a 99 banshee that i wanna start riding mx with...i wanna keep up wit the 4strokes but i dont know what mods to do? i kno its gonna be hard but i wanna stick with my shee. its got toomey t5, jet kit boost bottle. keep in mind im lite so i dono how much power i need and traction would be a problem with alota power i think. i kinda wanna keep to cost down a bit. wat u guys think?
  2. i just got my banshee runnin n now i want to tune it to get the most out of it...it seems that the right side is running richer then the left n besides compression i think it could be the carb sync is ou of a aline. how am i suppose to do this...it feels like the idle adjustment on the top of the t.o.r.s that the spring is broken on the right side. the left is fine. the t.o.r.s is eliminated but the boxes are still on top the carbs. thanks
  3. i have a banshee that is smokin out of the right pipe...it idles high n breaks up on the top end. however...my carb cap is coming loose...i think that it might throw my air/fuel off n give it a air leak(obviously) if you hiit the gas it jerks the hole cap. i dont know maybe some suggestions? also i removed the components to the tors but still have the big boxes on the top of the carb...when i adjust the idle screw it doesnt seem to do much b/c i cant go all the way in so the bolt will stop turning almost like its stripped. i duno gimme some help would be appreciated.
  4. i will check the compression when i get a tester from my buddy in a day or so. i am going to get ether and spray around the carb boots and head n cylinder. maybe i have to adjust the air/fuel thats what i think i just dont have time this moment. i dont think it is the throttle cable but i will check. the only thing is that it isnt hard to start it usually fires within 10 kicks if its been sittin for a few days. and 1 kick when its kinda warm. let me know what you think if any of the above info changes ur mind. thanks again

  6. i got a uni-filter w/ stock airbox and lid. yeah i mean i just had the hole thing stripped down last weekend the wires look fine. i will do the compression check. its just stuck in my head its a air/fuel problem...maybe the reeds? maybe and adjustment, but i have it at the right positions. does the idle screw on the t.o.r.s still work if they are all disconnected?
  7. toomey t5, 280 jets, needle 4th position, boost bottle. the only reason why i havent gotten that kit is b/c im low on money and i thought i might be able to get away with it. the air/fuel screw is at 1 and 1/2
  8. this banshee is givin me trouble. i have just taken the t.o.r.s off w/o the kit so the the box's are still on the carbs and i never cut the wires going to the throttle, just disconnected it. it has a high idle and when i pull the choke out around 1/2 way, it goes down. another thing is that it always breaks up in the power band, but it alota times it still pulls in the powerband. it smokes a little bit, i should do a compression chekc but it usually starts 1st kick. it wont pull a wheelie on the pavement at ALL. guys gimme some help im diein over here.

  10. i just got done the SAME THING over this weekend...check the t.o.r.s system...also i got water drier and sprayed over all connections... good luck.
  11. i think i am gonna run 32 to 1. as for the electrical, no im not 100% sure its fixed but, it idles it runs doesnt backfire climbs the rpms w/o backfire or real bad hesitation. i got 20 holeshots, stock gearing. when u get on it it goes real good i mean i can tell the powerband but the low end just doesnt have that jolt that i think 2 strokes have. maybe its me. maybe i have a air leak i do have a boost bottle herd bad things about them. i took the t.o.r.s and by passed it but its still sittin on my shee. any other ideas????
  12. i have just gotten my shee. i've herd so much about how fast they are. i've been riding since i was 9 im 18. i've had 80's n 125's. i've had blaster n a quadracer 250r. my shee is a 99 i just got running good(some elecrtical problems). it has toomey t5, 280 jets , a.m needle in the 4th position, a booste bottle. its idles good smokes a little only b/c its running 28 to 1 right now. problem is it just doesnt pick up the front end that much...im 140 pounds! n i like to wheelie. it gets up n goes but when u snap the throttle it doesnt pick up right away. i was wondering if this is normal or maybe my setup isnt right? or i need adjustments? the air/fuel is 1 1/2 out on both. i just eliminated the t.o.r.s w/o the hole setup and it runs n idles fine. any ideas??? help
  13. i did exactly wat u said...i have spark now another problem...i got it to idle, but the idle seems really high, i tried to adjust the air/fuel...is there an idle screw? also when i ride it and i hit the gas it isnt very snappy, it kinda hesitates? has low - low end power. could it be the jets?
  14. i just took the stator cover off...it was dry...im goin to spray all the connections with wire drier. hopefully it works. any other ideas? it had great spark b4 i put the carb on. could it be the tors?
  15. I got a 99 banshee that i just got running. I put a new left carb on it and power washed it with the gas tank off and the plastic off. i go to start it up and no spark. PLEAAASE help i have no i dea i checkd all the connections the coil everything. thanks for the help
