  3. well i am wondering if anyone knows a good starting point start with jetting for these carbs ..mikuni vm 34.... like what size pilots and something close on the needles and mains.... it is going on stock cylinders, ported.. bored.. and a 4 mill long rod motor... cpi in frames.... just need something to start with, i am at 5,000 feet.. thanks for any input
  4. it will still be orange... but i am going to paint the frame white then shoot candy orange over the white.. then alot of clear... should look good... once the snow melts i will let you know when i am going out.. it be great to have you out there with us..
  5. your choice on your banshee should be good..... it all about how much money you want to spend... LOL on my 501... i got rid of alot off it.. no more nerfs or heal gaurds.. got rid of the e-start.. no fan.. gutted the wire harness.. custom sub frame.. new pipe.. 22-12-8 12 paddle super light gliders... + 6 swing arm... going thru the motor and see if i can find a few more ponies in it... new piston.. new valves.. re cut the seats.. maybe shave .020 off the head.. put hot start on... maybe ditch the front brakes.. no rear fenders... new paint... should be nice looking.... ya if i can get the day off i would like to be out there opening day... i am sure i will be out there to run on crapo before that to get it dialed in agin tho... i am sure we will get to ride together more this summer..
  6. ya .. this is corey.... i am putting a stroker crank in it... and a bunch of other things... it is what he wanted for christmas... only about 1,200.00 worth of parts... then all my time doing it.. ... i have my orange yfz 501 stripped down to the frame to.. it is getting a big make over to.. and it is not even a year old.. hope to see you out there this summer.... i can't wait to ride agin. i have bought some domes from Herr racing.... thanks everyone....
  7. i am looking for some 4 mill long rod cool head domes... 18cc - 17 cc.... either will work for us we are at 5,000 feet .... new or used ... just thought i would see here before i order some you can e-mail me to... this is for my boys banshee.. so i am not on this site alot.. i have a 501 yfz [email protected]
  8. oh ya ... they are stock cylinders bored to 66mm and venom ported it with boost ports.. it has v force 3 reads.. cpi in frame pipes... it is pretty fast... hope it gets faster... i bought the long rod 4mil crank and the 795 pistons.. timing plate.. and pods for the carbs... it had a K&N pro flow in the box with no lid.. thanks for your help about the domes.. i live like 30 mins from st.anthony dunes.. we go allmost every weekend durining the summer.. it is a blast to ride there..
  9. thanks for the reply... we ride st. anthony dunes and it is 5,000 feet here... it ha 160 lbs of comp. at this alt. i mix 50- 50 race gas for it..
  10. well i unerstand the stroke and offset... up 2 more and down 2 more = 4mil .. and what you say makes sense, what i think is screwed up is when you oreder the crank they have a mark like this* then say you need special pistons.. then you look them up and they tell you you need this piston... so you order that.. but then don't say anything about the head... So where is the best place to buy cool head domes cut ? right now i have 17cc domes in it ?
  11. why would you need cut domes if you run the 795 pistons ? they are sappose to be made for the long rod stroker with the pin moved to make up for the 2mm offset.. i am just wondering becuse i have all this stuff for my kids banshee i am building for X-mas... i have built my YFZ 450 to a 501 stroker and when you get the pistons for the long rod stroker there is no need for a spacer plate or anything done to the head.. so to me it just doesn't make sense that you would buy stroker pistons then have to cut the domes.. i guess i will find out when i put it together in the next week or so.. i will messure the squish and see where it is at.. but i would think you should be able to run a cool head dome with out cutting it if you are running stroker pistons or why buy the stroker pistons ?... the kid should be happy when he opens all his gifts tommorrow..
  12. ptevo03... your in box is full..... yes i still have it..... i am not sure what year it is for becuse motor where swaped out... i took the old one with me when i bought this one, you will need to check if the part number listed above is the same one yours takes... you can go to like ronnies online.... i went and checked it will fit a 2003.... but it mite fit other years to... you can check your year and find out... 60.00 shipped
  13. i have a brand new cdi box forsale, i bought it for my kids banshee becuse i thought his went out.. come to find out that was not the problem.. it was in the wire harness.. the part number is 3GG-85540-10-00 any one need one ?? open to offers or maybe trade for something if you want to check me out... i had trx that i parted out.. i have a 100% postive feed back at 450HQ or 450r.org.... i now have a 501 yfz... i am millertime at those sites... thanks
  14. put a brand new wire harness on....put a new stator on and it ohm'd the same as the old one.. no tether on it... i will shake the flywheel and see .. and check the air gap.. maybe run a extra ground to
  15. been working on a banshee and it will only spark like on the first kick... then if you unplug the cdi and plug it back in will spark once agin... bought a new ricky stator.. new cdi box.. tors un hooked .. tryed new coil.. tested switchs... tryed new wiring harness.. i have tryed everything and replaced everything.. anyone ever have this problem ? thanks for anymore ideas... i am thinking something i have replaced is as bad as the one i replaced it with..

  17. dam i wish i would of seen this sooner, i have a set of CPI in frame only ran about 5 times on the wifes 06 , i want some T-5's.. she needs more bottom end for her riding style.. i bought the cpi's brand new

  20. how does it idle???? usely when a 2stroke gets low on comp. it does not want to idle very good.. do you have any ex. leaks on one side ? is one of you stingers getting pluged... or the other one blown all the packing out ? jsut a few things to check.... one slide on the carb opening more then the other.???
  21. did you take the floats out of the bottom of the bowl... if you put the floats in with the little metal things up it will have the needle and seat closed and your carbs won't fill with gas....
  22. if a pice of something sucked in to the main jet on that side it would lean it out enough to burn that side down.. .. but when it kept leaking the coolint out i would of quit riding it tell i fixxed the problem...
