wow, I was definatly using the wrong puller. I will pick one of thoe up tomorrow. So after a day of pulling the engine out and apart I decided to clean it all up and clean off all the gasket parts from the pieces. I also decided to start inspecting the parts when I noticed that the idle gear has a tooth that is about to crack off and that the small gear on the back of the clutch basket also has a hairline crack all the way through it. I guess I will be needing to replace those to and I havent even cracked open the cases to find the original problem yet! Any other things I should look out for or replace that hasnt been mentioned previously in this post? I will be pickin up the clymers this week to help along. I have the factory servicen manual but it was a download and I have a shitty printer and.....well it helps a little but I really appreciate the hands on info you guys are throwing at me. Thanks. I;m sure there will be more to come over the next few days

so the puller is specific to thebanshee flywheel? The puller I have has two arms that hook on the back lip of the flywheel and it has a bolt that goes directly into the center of the bolt on the fly wheel. You tighten the middle bolt and it "should" pull off but this is not working for me

that shit is so fused on that my piece of shit puller just broke trying to the flywheel. this is not my weekend!

I got the motor out and the whole clutch side off. I cant seem to get the flywheel off from the timing plate. I used an impact gun to remove the nut and I have a pulley puller on the flywheel and it wont budge even after i hit it with the impact. Am i doing something wrong? Can it be rusted together? It looks like a buch of rusty crud in there. I have it soaking in wdf40 right now. Is there somthing i am missing? Is there a special trick?

fuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuukkkkkkkkkkkkkkkk!!!! I pulled the cluch cover and basket, removed the piece that is in the pic higher in the post and I have the shift star visible. the piece in the above pic on my bike is fine. I grabed the shift star with a pair of pliers and it still will only let me fully engage one gear and 3/4 of the next. Now what? I believe I should start removing the motor to split the cases to peep the tranny. damm.

what were your symptoms? How tough is it to pull the clutch cover and basket?

what should I look for?

Today I was out riding my banshee with my boys and We started to drag a little. I raced my boy that also has a banshee and i must have slammed through the gears. Now my bike is stuck in 5th gear. I can get into 6 th and 5 th but that is it. Did I mangle the shift fork? Can it be the shift star? What do you guy think it could be and will I need to pul the motor and split the cases? Any info would help. Thank. -Bryan

My banshee is running like shit and I cant get the jetting/air screws right. 2004 banshee,120 compression on both sides, tors removed, fmf pipes, k&n intake, drilled airbox cover and I am at sea level. The main jet is a 280, the pilot 25 and the needle is on the fourth clip from top (dynojet needles) air screws are 1.5 turns out. Still runs like crap. I played with the air screws and it just made the problem go from side to side. Choke tube is there. Sometimes it gives me full power and other times only one cylinder hits. (most of the time). Carbs are freshely cleaned and seem to be in sync by the little window on the side of them. Someone please point mein the right direction. Located in south florida so temp today is @80 ish.
