  1. Go with cpi i have t5's they might be ok for dune runing but drag i lose top power, the guys that run sheare's and cpi have a lot better top end than me. Full drag port, csse match, lower case trench out cool head 19cc domes clamp on K&N's booost bottle t5's + 5 timing 10 over swing skat track tripplebuff 9 paddle 14/42 sproket weak in the carb area stock with 410 mains and stock reeds. It'll rip out of the hole but its gon on top, so if you are going drag more go cpi i would anyway would love to get rid of these t5's just my thoughts.
  2. Backfiring? sounds like timing, did you put the fly wheel snd stator on? if so make sure you got it tight and didn't shesr a key and the pickup has the clearance I think .020? look at your timing marks on the flywheel its a easy check to drr if your in the ball park. dont know if this will help or not.
  3. Just my thoughts 13 to 16 is a buig jump. dajogejr has given me some good advice and rils has to i have t5's and run a 14 good hole shot with 20 skat tracks 9 paddles t5's kill the top but i think dajogejr is right you will need more than pipes to get a good hole shot or even pull it. But try it thats how you learn. If it dont try something else. just my thoughts though.
  4. Yeah the right rider makes all the differents in the world. You can have lots of HP but if you dont know how to put it to use you might as well run in the stock class. I'm not perfect thats why i ask questioins on here for ideas and advice from people with more time on the track and what will help get some HP the i can do my best to put it to good use. Already got some 34MM carb spotted, and pro design intakes with boost bottle 17cc domes and a few other odds and end parts that will make a great winter project. It ran good and hard last night but there was some that were just plain bad, GT preformace waws there and they run hard and have very nicely shee's and knowhow to getter done!! Thanks for the tips and advice I probably have more ?? later. Todd
  5. Hey thanks for the input and your time need to go do some clening on the shee and get ready to race. got some new ideas now, and i will see if i can do any good. Thanks again!!! Todd
  6. RIDIUM BR8EIX (NGK) +5 Timing just put new rings and 170 but my gauge is old and i got 165,then 168 so its not a real good check on that, do you think 114 is to much running 32 to 1 belray mix I'm going to go to 17cc domes shortly that might help but i think the pipes and stock carbs might kill me. What is your opinion?
  7. got a 10 + swing, the tires work great!! I ran a gut last night that had his shee on a dyno and said he is pushing 74HP and i would take him from the start to finsh but he was coming on hard, he had cpi pipes said they made a world of differents.
  8. plugs look perfect, I know that is a big main but it run out good no bogging good whole shot just kinda fades away on the top end about 1/2 track ( 300ft.) it works but i tink i could get more out of it. just wonder if to much back presure on the t5s?
  9. Hey guys can i take the packing out of toomey TK silencers, and leave it out? And this help any on the top end? got great whole shot, and about 2/3 of the track it starts fading away just repacked them feels grea other that. 410mains,race feul 114oct 19ccdomes coolhead hotrods wesico prolite 090 over gears 13/42 skattrack triple buffs 10 pad and its drag ported. racing today
  10. I had to do the same thing on one of my bolts, like he said you get one shot! go to much to either side or get it off center you could crack it around the bolt hole then it becomes a nightmare. plug the intake port really good to keep everything clean. I had my motor on the worrk bench makes it a little easier you don't have much room to do it when its mounted. Good luck with your project!
  11. do you think a set of out frame drag pipes would help? I'm sure some good reeds would do some good to. mine are stock or at least i think they are they still have the stopper on them.
  12. I haveheard that the jets I'm using are huge, the plugs look good got the timeing up aroung 5to 6 +. It had 370 mains when i started but the plugs were white without advacing the timing. so i went bigger tried 420's but that was a bit much. my big concern is the throat of the carb is so small that i didnt know if i could get enough air with that much fuel, those little toy carbs have got to go, thats all there is to it!! And now that i know that this extreme portting isnt that bad i think i'll take them in and a manchine shop fill in the gaps. wish i would have map the ports now and got some good measurement to post . hey thanks for the input and your time. 13. this is a pic of intake port. the extra port on the sides go to the tranfers. I didnt measure or map the ports, i figure the jugs were junk. and yea the 410 mains helped it runs like you wouldnt beleave. a buddy of mine was running 300ft. @ 4.7 to 5.0 on gas i run with him and have got him a few times. not very often though. got the head to quit leaking.
  14. Hi guys need some help? I'm new on BansheeHQ and still real Green on the mods on my banshee. But the only stupid question is the one that never got asked . Heres what i got I pulled the top end to freshing it up (New rings and just to see what was inside) I bought this banshee real cheap as a none running shee and found out i got a better deal than i thought! I got the top en back togrther and put all new gaskets and a new oring set on the cool head and the cool head leaked on the right side ( If your sitting on the seat) who ever had put these on before used a ton of silicone and the water jakets packed with silicone which was stupid as hell! It restricter the water so much it shouold have been called a hot head instead of a cool head. so then I was looking at my so called port job that someone did to it that in my opinion did not have a clue to what they doing I will put a pic. on there are 2 ports on the left and right that i thought were boost ports but after reading other fourms found out they are something else but still have no answer.here a list of what i got in it. and a pic of the ports can you give me some ideas on what to do? O those side port there was a little to much gringing they went through the side and put some kind of apoxy? Not sure on the timing of the ports didnt map them because i think there junk. Bored 90 over (66.25 376cc) pro cool head (19cc domes big +++) ported ?? K&n pods toomey T-5s boost bottle stock carbs ( 410 mains ?? I think to much for the carbs ????) I think a wesico crank & hotrods (hot rods for sure) piston do go into the domes, Stoker crank? pro lite wesico pistons timing +5 to 7, +5 mostly runs best there fuel 114 oct.
