  1. Correction on the location. I just moved from Rancho to San Diego last week. I am always going up to rancho on my days off to see friends so I figured I would drop them off. Never heard of HJR...what kind of power can I get out of their drag port . Its for the 99 in my sig. I sent K&T a Email almost a year ago because I like the job that was done on the other Banshee but never heard back.
  2. They are about 5 Min from my house. I have been out of the game for almost a year and today I fired up the banshees and rode them a little. I have decided to get a stage 3 port job on the 99. last time I was here some people were questioning trinitys quality controll so Im just wondering how they have been doing in the last year or so.
  3. Just wondering what size carbs are recamended for the 2000 Banshee in my sig. I have stock carbs right now but I would like to upgrade in a week or two. I was thinking 35mm but i figured before I buy them i would get some opinions on that. Also while im here what gearing would you guys recamend for the bike. My main goal is to go faster up hills at Dumont and Glamis. And last question are there better in frame pipes out there than Toomey T5's Any advice would be appreciated....Thanks
  4. I noticed that the front sproket on my 2000 Banshee was a little loose. After taking a closer look I realized that the nut that holds it on was forced on. I took it apart and bought a new nut and washer but I need to clean up the threads on the bike before I reinstall everything with the new nut. So I was wondering if anyone knows the size and thread pitch of the die I need to do this and where can I buy it because it looks like it may be an oddball size.
  5. I have decided to start changing things arround on the 2000 banshee in my sig. The bike already has a welded crank and a port job done by K&T. I cant figure out if i should go with a 420 long rod kit and have my cylinders sleeved because they are already ported or just install a 400 cheetah setup and keep from having to replace the crank. Replacing the crank doesnt bother me but im wondering what would give me better results. Either way I go bigger carbs are also in the future . Any advice would be appreciated!
  6. Thanks.....
  7. sorry...same stroke im just upgrading to the hot rods and crank set up.
  8. Just wondering if there's any maching work that needs to be done to the cases before installing a new crank and rods or if it just drops in.
  9. I just got another banshee and I want to put a cool head on it. The bike has a stage 3 port job, T5's and thats about it. I bought a cool head with 18cc domes and im wondering if I will need to rejet the carbs after the head is installed. I have a cool head on my other banshee and didnt rejet it but I only went to a 21cc dome not a 18cc dome. I am asuming I wont need to rejet but i wanted to get some opinions first.
  10. If you still have the frame please send me an Email at [email protected]
  11. I just bought another banshee and I want to get a head for it. I have a noss machine head on the Banshee in my sig and I cant think of one bad thing to say about it. The new Banshee is all stock accept a stage 3 port and Toomey T5'. Being as this bike has a welded crank I have decided to up the compression. I have a set of 18cc domes laying arround and was thinking about installing them with a new Noss machine head. I took a look at trinity's sight and they have a head that adds 4 extra studs and they say that it keeps the head from blowing off the bike. I have never seen this happen and im wondering how often it happens to other people.
  12. My friend has a 98 Banshee that has a stage 3 port and polish, T-5 pipes and indivedual K&N filters and a White Brothers boost bottle or what ever that thing is that connects the 2 manifolds together. He just got the engine back from the shop because it was stuck in second gear so they fixed it for him. On our second trip to dumont dunes we noticed that the Left pipe smokes alot more than the right at idle infact there isnt really any smoke out of the right pipe. once the RPM's are brought up they both smoke but it seems the right side is still more. He isnt worried about the smoke he is worried that the 2 cylinders are running differently. I told him the carbs may not be adjusted right because thats the only thing I can think of that would make a difference but im no mechanic. He thinks the Boost bottle is suposed to take care of that problem and equal out the cylinders so I decided to make a post to see what you guys think because I know that some of you do alot of your own work.
  13. I went out to Dumont dunes about a week ago for the first time sience I installed the new head on the Banshee. I switched the domes out to 21's because i was a little worried about running the 18's with the crank being stock and unwelded. I was really surprised that I noticed a difference between the stock head and the Noss Machine Head with 21 cc domes. The bike actually felt easier to ride because it had a little more bottom end power. I didnt need to keep the RPM's up all the time to keep moving and that gave me more confidence when it came time to go into some of the deeper bowls. Or when im following a friend who slows down for no reason while we are going up a dune and I let off then get back on the throttle to go arround him. I think that this head was the best mod I have done for the price. I know alot of you probably know the results of installing the head but I just wanted to post mine because I am the kind of person that takes alot of convincing before I believe something and I really felt a difference.
  14. What's the advantage of that setup ? I have been considering it but I havent heard much about it.
  15. I am slowly gathering up parts so I have everything when I split my cases. The next part I want to buy is an ovrrride tranny but being as they need my tranny as a core is a problem because I havent split my cases yet. So I am thinking about buying one on Ebay and sending that in as a core just to get the Override now. My question is are the trannys the same in all years or is there a specific few years I need to be looking for. My Banshee is a 99.
  16. This thread is great.... It just answered a bunch of questions I had about that tranny also. I looked him up on Ebay and I just left him a message.
  17. I have decided to upgrade my crank but I dont know if I should just get mine welded or buy an aftermarket crank. I went in to a shop here in riverside and they pretty much tried to scare me out of getting my stock crank welded. They told me that because the quad is a 99 that the crank is probably junk and the splines that hold it together are probably almost gone. I am thinking that if I am goint to split the case then I should just buy a new crank to be safe but I wanted to get some opinions first. Another option would be a stroker but they told me that that plate they use to raise the cylinders is a joke. They pretty much tried to confuse me into letting them do what ever they want to my quad but it didnt work. So what do you guys think?
  18. Where is Fox racing at...and a phone number would be nice. Im looking for a place that my friends dont know about that way they wont hear every time I do something to my Banshee.
  19. A friend is telling me Sand Sport is the best one because i only ride in the sand or desert. Anyone else have any suggestions.
  20. Probably dumb to say but I wonder how many years it will be before it will be hard to find parts for a Banshee I hope it takes atleast 10.
  21. As someone already said Trinity is pretty good but you need to make your own decisions on what you want when you go in there or you will end up buying everything with their name on it. I would recamend Denton Racing in Riverside. They have some pretty quick bikes and they are easy to talk to. I went in there a week ago with a friend who recamended them to me because they built his Banshee and its been pretty reliable as well as fast. But my main suggestion is to call a few different shops and see who listens to you and who you feel comfortable with.
  22. I wonder why they say you need a min of 95 octane fuel with the stage 2 cam.
  23. I am wondering why when I launch my Banshee at high RPM's it wont shift at first until the RPM's come down. For instance if I launch in second gear it wont go into third until the RPM's come down and after that it goes into the rest of the gears fine. I Have a new Raptor and I noticed it does the same thing so I doubt there's anything wrong with it but I just want to know it there's a way to get rid of that because it really sucks to get beat by a slower bike because i cant shift mine. And also whats an Override transmission ?
  24. What size domes did you get ?
  25. True we got off track, I think if its price your worried about then have it resleeved especially if your already happy with the power you have.
