does removing the parking brake make a difference?

i took a look at my pistons and they had some carbon rite on the top which i removed with a scothbright pad.my cylinder is looking good no scratches no wear and bike is running good but last time the pistons where changed was wen i upgraded which was in Feb/2003

ok i have a .020 so i have to go to the next size even do i dint blow the engine
