  1. wish i was still doing some machine work and had access to a lathe.... I would do it myself, but being 200 miles away at school and only being home on the weekends, i dont have much time to get stuff done so when i do get to work on it i have to have everything ready to go. I'll do the shift star because its such an easy mod, but i'll be sendng my flywheel off to have it done. BTW I believe the shift star is 20 bucks and the flywheel is 65
  2. thats one ugly shark... crosseyed and bucktoothed
  3. I'm gonna do my shift star myself, i'll probably the leave the nuetral back cut alone.... as far as the flywheel. From what i under stand you shave some of the material off with a lathe, I did some machine work for a couple of years so i would do it if i had access to tha machines, but i think i'ma end up just sending it off to get it done
  4. you can get intouch with boonman and he can cut your flywheel for you, he can also do the shift star... if you look a few threads down i started athread about the shift star a couple days ago. there is a few comparison picutres of a stock and modded star.
  5. I've been hearing now i should leave in 2nd on the gas and just pop off the clutch. I guess I'll just have to try both approaches and see what works the best
  6. jager and red bull, jim and dr pepper, so co and root beer, .... nasty natty lite is the best ever. I drink it all, its just according to what mood i'm in. I usually go for what ever is the cheapest
  7. its a quarter track and i have the stock tooth out back... what gearing would i need to run the full quarter without running out of gear
  8. I'm takin tha banshee for its first run at the track... its an asphault track and i'll have it strapped down with a 16 tooth front sprocket... I also have fmf gold series ,+ 4 timing, intake, and wiseco pistons. I'm just wondering how bad its gonna want to come up in first. Will i be able to pop off the clutch or will I have to do alot of feathering to keep it from standing up bad?
  9. I can get ahold of a bench grinder no problem , but what about needing a milling machine to do the neutral like posted above
  10. so its a no go on me doing it with a dremel and file
  11. here's the rough peice.. it still needs to be cleared and wet sanded My Webpage this is the effect that is in the orange.. sorry you cant really see it good because of the sorry picture qualty My Webpage
  12. is it easy to screw it up if you've never done it... I'm mechanically incline and if all i need to do is round the edges off I'm sure I could do it rather than having to have down time for sending it off and having to pay for it to be down
  13. what exactly does modfying the shift star do... is it worth having it done
  14. yeah.... i am a paint and body student so i know how body work... but the primer i'm using isn't thick enough to stand 180 grit much less anything rougher, i'll be blocking the paint down tomorrow and doing a marble effect followed by clear so it should last a little while... like i said its all temporary until i can get a lttle more time and equipment to do it right
  15. I'm using some home depot paint right now... hella prep and primer... probably not gonna turn out the best but its only temporary.
  16. so how do i get my stock reeds to flow WELL ENOUGH... i'm all for adding power without spending money
  17. I will soon... i'm gonna do the fenders and hood silver with the tank cover, radiator cover, seat and a stripe the width of the seat on the back plastics orange. I'll put some pics up as soon as i can... hopefully i'll paintem saturday
  18. try putting this in the wanted section
  19. I would like to have this done , but i don't wanna have the down time to take mine off and send it to have it done... does fast racing have a website or what is their member name on here so i can see if they have one allready done
  20. by lightning the flywheel do you mean just buying a lighter one or can i lighten the stock one
  21. do they have a website, I would like to buy a stock swingarm that has been extended if the price is right... f not i'm just going to extend it myself
  22. whats tha skinny on adjusting the timing on a banshee... I'm thinking about investing in an adjustable timing plate and have no idea which to buy or how to set the timing
  23. I'm still running the stock carbs, what i meant was one filter to two carbs...
  24. I feel dumber having read that... I cant believe I'm considering giving my .02, but what its worth i bought my banshee for a grand with a blown motor, put another couple hundred dollars in it and have a great running banshee.
  25. as of now i have wiesco pro lites , fmf gold series pipes, 1-2 intake, stock bore... pretty basic stuff. Soon I hope to get v-force reeds, and a good drag port. I am at about 300 ft i believe. The bike seems like it runs good on the top side but stumbles bad right off idle
