  1. Port job will make the most effect for you. I would not bore for power reasons. Stock crank trued/welded best bang for buck. You will be able to hang just fine provided your setup is dialed in. Drag race is another story.. You may consider shift star mod while it's apart.

  2. one step at a time.

Do a leak down test - ensure it passes

Compression test ensure their within spec with 23cc domes  (depending on your elevation if sea level its around 120-130 psi)

What doe the plug look like compare both sides.

banshee cylinders are 64mm stock. Did you make sure that you used the correct size pistons and that they where within spec of the bore?

onto carbs  clean them, ensure the float height is properly set. Make sure the needle valve for the float is still in good shape.

also make sure their synced so they open and close at the same time.

I agree, before you go any further, do a leak down test. You can do a search on how.

  3. Lookin' good. Throw away the swiss cheese brake disc guards.

Lol, ok  I think I may do that.

Those grey plastics are really nice. But you're right, it does not work to well with  a teal frame. White or black plastics should tie in well.

Good luck with your project. Keep the pics coming.

Thanks, I appreciate the suggestions. This is my first time doing this.

  4. I guess its worth mentioning that the banshee has been taken apart for a couple years. I had to order a bolt kit. Boy did that make life easier. Except they don't tell you which bolts go where. No biggie. Come on UPS man, Im ready to get this thing on wheels.

  5. I've slowly been cleaning and painting parts and then putting them on.

I had to tap most of the holes to clean the threads but no problems.

    Cooling system done.

New Bushings and end caps for the A-Arms

400ex shocks for the front. Poor Boy suspension drop.

Bought a few used chrome pieces off fellow forum members. Thanks guys.

Wiring, tail light, cdi, coil all done.

New handle bars and grips. New steering bearing and seal.

Still have to do brakes, seat cover and plastics next. Saving the engine for last. Just trying to focus on the rolling chassis for now.

Waiting on new bearings, swing arm rebuild kit, and some other odds and ends..

  6. My Banshee hasn't ran in awhile. Lately I've committed to bringing her back better than ever. Originally had Yammy Blue plastics and scratched up ugly ass silver frame. I sandblasted the frame and had it powder coated Candy Teal. I spent hours looking at bike on the forum here getting lots of good ideas. Here is the frame. Color looks better in person imo.
