  1. I got new plugs. Nothing . still backfires like crazy from the right side. im thinking of taking my reeds out and cleaning them , think it could be a reed issue?
  2. 3 days ago i was riding . i shut it off.and a bit of water , or coolant dripped onto the ground. and i could hear water boiling. i let it cool off then i rode home. ive ridden it about 3 times after that happened and it was running perfect again , but now it started to do this. and yeah i used carb cleaner and air hose. im really hoping its the spark plug. and yea that hose is on there. i remember one time i tried to turn it on and the hose wasnt on , i was kickin for 30 minutes till i noticed. lol.

My banshee has FMF fatty with powercore silencers. boost bottle. 280 mains. no airbox lid stock filter today it started running like shit. and its backfiring from the right side only. but it does this alot. and there was a bit of sand in the plastic tube that leads to my carbs from the airbox. wasnt alot though. i took apart my carbs and the bowls are clean , no sand , i cleaned it all up and turned it on and it was backfiring like crazy from the right side. My right side spark plug looks a bit richer than my left one , my left one actually looks perfect.and the right one looks black. i think that the air/fuel screws might be a BIT differnt but barely. maybe by like /4 turn if that. Any help is appreciated.. thanks

  7. ok. yea , i think my problem is patience.i came into this hoping for a quick job like on my 450R but sheeesh was I wrong. im running the 280 main and the air screw out about 1 and 3/4's. it runs best like that . still has a bit of lag in lowend. but i am probably buying a bigger pilot to see if that helps , and im going to move the needle to the 4th clip. so to do a plug chop , i have to go to the store and buy like 10 plugs?i gotta keep choppin plugs everytime i change something? or can i just LOOK at the plug?

FUCK IT. this shee is pissing me off.it actually runs worse NOW than it did before with the stock jetting. and i cant adjust the air screw to work right. and it took me a million kicks to get it started.when it used to start 2nd kick im thinking of dropping it off at a shop and telling them to deal with it
  9. im at 280. in what direction would turning the screw richen it? clockwise? or counter clockwise
  10. i put in the 280 main.and the screw on the side of the carbs is out about 2 1/4. when i do donuts , in 1st gear its fine , in 2nd gear it stays at a REALY low RPM and wont go up unless i pop clutch or make a wider turn. what should i set that screw at? is that the air screw?

  12. im running owithout a airbox lid. and i read the Pinned topics on this section about carbs n jetting. and i think now im running rich. it does kinda stutter a bit. i think if i go to 280 itll be less rich right?? and my needle is where its always been , im guessing stock position? lol. i turned my pilot out 1.4 turn because chase told me to. it helped a bit but not much. if i pick up in 1st gear on a wheelie by popping clutch , it doesnt have the torque to keep going , i can pin the gas and itll go down and then speed up.without being in the powerband yet.
  13. fmf goldseries and boost bottle. i put a 290 main. and before , it had good accel and the powerband was really strong.but bogged a bit when revving it when idle.and lagged when going into 4th 5th and 6th now , the powerband isnt as strong , it doesnt lag in those high gears , but still bogs a bit when i gas it. now , is that normal for banshees? to bog if you pin the throttle while idling? im used to my 450R revving up. and if i slowly move it to like 1/4 while idling , it starts bogging and it stays at a steady rate but its bogging. so , where is my powerband? lol.im running without an airbox lid. it did the same thign with it though. i have jets 200, 280, 290 , and 300. which should i try? 200 are stock , and 290 are in. so the qustion is , do i go down , or up?

  19. the problem with the powerband was solved. the clutch lever was pulling the cable too much, turns out it was halfway engaged or so.now the powerband engages hard lol. only problem i have is wen idling if i rev it hard suddenly , it bogs down lol.doesnt shut off though. if im going on it hard, as i shift into 5th and 6th i think it was , it really lags at picking up speed.it plateaus sortof lol
  20. yeah the mixture is 40:1 and im going to get 27.5 pilot , as i was told it would run good with it. and im getting 3 types of mains 310 320(probably the best bet , as im told) and 330. im going to run open airbox lid anyone know of a better setup?? Chase Reccommended that setup to me.
  21. sadly , i think its on stock jets . so i have not ridden it. as i dont want to risk it. im in florida at sea level im pretty sure almost positive lol. i have not checkd my plugs.

I just got an 05 shee the LE black one. wen the powerband kicks in , i hear it , loud as hell , but the ATV doesnt really go faster.lol. and wen i shift to 3rd and up gunning it , it sorta bogs . and after the powerband it kinda bogs sometimes too. it has FMF Pipes(goldseries Fatty) boost bottle stock foam filter with closed airbox lid(although i wont mind running open airbox) im pretty sure it has custom gearing which they changed because they didnt want as much acceleration as it did. and im not aware of any other mods. what kinda jetting should i run? and could jetting be the problem?
