my needle is in the clip. i checked. i went to the drag strip and met some guys who ran drag shees. they told me that 120 pounds of compressio was WAY too low.......but theyre running cubs lol. they told me my problem might be some sort of electrical cutoff

where exactly do i change the needle position???? ive tried looking for it before but i never find it... call me stupid lol

I thought they were both firing.the plugs look kinda wet , i havent done a plug chop yet . but im pretty sure theyre both firing . theres just SOMETHING affecting 1/2 to full throttle. both get equally hot and i can hear both sides revving . and when in 1st gear , the powerband hits REALLY hard like it always has , so idk if its only firing on one side , it doesnt sound likely could it be the pilot jet maybe??dirty?

i got .20 bored over with vitos pistons , mild race port. stock reeds. boost bottle. stock air filter without the airbox lid. FMF Goldseries pipes . and running 300 main on stock carbs. It idles fine. but it kinda seems like theres visible smoke comin out the right side and i cant actually SEE the smoke comin out the right side , even when i rev it , even tho i feel the air comin out. i ride it in 1st , it starts takin off fine , hits powerband , and right then it just gets into a stuttering type of mode. it runs , not as hard as b4 , but it just makes this noise like "tadadadaddaddadadad" and as i shift into 2nd , it does that even b4 the powerband. it did this from one day to the next. what could it be? i have compression 120 on each side.fresh rebuild. i took the bowls off the carb but i dont really know what else to do to clean the carb. you think its the reeds? maybe the carbs arent synced? how do i go about getting them perfectly sync'd. thanks for your help

theyre also stock but he had them jetted to run perfect . and he had the same setup i have now. but he was in Cali. But im going to take them apart.He told me to check if the needle is on the clip or something like that. Well , I dont ride TOO hard . and i just trail ride. so they should last me. i could push the kicker down with my hand before without much effort. now it takes effort even with my foot. lol. I <3 rebuilds.

I put my stock carbs which have 280 mains on there and it runs awesome. still lacking a LITTLe bit of lowend. but i deff. wanna fix the other carbs. any suggestion? floats maybe?

I tried with the airbox lid off , and nothin. still acted the same way. should I try to see if taking the filter off does anything??

I think it ran BETTER with a blown cylinder than it does now. i got .20 bored over with vitos pistons , mild race port. stock reeds. boost bottle. stock air filter with closed airbox. FMF Goldseries pipes . and running 310 main on the new carbs. my last motor blew due to jetting. I bought this all as a package deal. hoping that it would already run somewhat good. and wen i first put it together , it leaked fuel out the hoses , ALL of them. then i closed the fuel valve , pulled the choke , gave it WOT and kicked over n it started. it will not hold idle. even with choke off. i ride it and no powerband , just sits there "studdering". and when i rev it it sounds VERY weak. could my floats be affecting this? maybe air screw??OR idle screw? 4 threads later , i still dont have a clue how to jet. So let me know any helpful info. im going to try to put my old carbs on the bike tommorow, to see if it runs better.

ok thanks guys. I went today but just to spectate. the shee isnt done yet. i see some people racing without a seat belt or helmet in their car. and one guy on a yfz450 was wearing jeans and a t-shirt with a motorcycle helmet on and no gloves with stock dirt tires ,and he ran. ill call and make sure what helmet i need. i think that since not alot of quads go there , they dont really look at the rules.

yeah thats the thing about florida. below 60 degrees and you see people dressed in eskimo jackets lol. but tis different here. i went to north carolina , and at 32* , i could go outside in my boxers and feel just as cold as id feel at like 60* in florida. i think its something about wind or humidity. lol. need less to say i did put some clothes on haha.but just a regular hoodie. i always thought id need a winter coat in 32* lol

Can i use my regular riding helmet at a drag strip?Im taking my banshee to Immokale Regional Raceway in 2 weeks. my helmet is a HJC CsxII. DOT Approved. its a motocross helmet. can i use that ? or do i need a full face sport bike helmet?

i was running 280 mains on it. FMF goldseries fatty with powercore silencers. Boost Bottle. Ill be getting K&n filter with no airbox lid. at sea level. and ive messed with the air/fuel screw alot. its at 2 1/2 turns out right now. what clip should I move th needle to? what should the screw be at? what jetting should I be running?? heres what happened to my last motor.

it starts up and is rideable. but it accels slowly and backfires when im not accelerating it. I think my only option is either a headgasket, like mentioned above , or that hole , or my carburetor is just fucked up beyond repair because ive basically taken it apart twice and it seems perfectly normal. would the float heigh affect this?
