  3. So is the spitting and sputtering the cause of a fuel starvation? I mean it seems like i just keep jetting and jettn and nothing changes. I did compression and with stock head its 105, with muilled head its around 130,135. And if i add oil it goes up. So I already know i need a new top end. But thats a diff story because it starts on first kick and runs pretty good at low to mid range. What do you all suggest for jets then. Im at 320's now.
  4. Ok heres the scoop. i recently purchased a 97 banshee. im running procircuit pipes / silencers, k&n filter with outwears. The K&N is attached via pro flow plate. Im running 320 mains, 27.5 pilots, and i think the clip is in the stock location ( i havent touched it).I ride in northern michigan were i think the elevation is around 800ft. Heres the problem. At low to mid range the shee runs good. at wot it pops and spits. You can actually here it instead of the strong power band and the braaaaaaaap, its more like braaaa. It sounds like it needs to climb a few more rpms but it doesnt. And ive been jetting up and up since the last few weekends because everytime i look at the plugs there still lean at wot. I dont understand. Do I have a reed issue, or an air leak? But where. I need some help guys memorial weekend is only two weeks away and i need to get the shee fixed. Thanks.
  5. Where is a good place to send my jugs too? So If i just send them my jugs and tell them to bore / hone them. They can "mike" it out and tell me what pistons and rings to use? Since now im in the dark because the guy said it was bored and obviously he lied. So i have no idea whats in there unless i pull the jugs and mike the pistons. What is the rule of thumb for this. Say the pistons is _____Diam, what should the jugs Diameter be. I just didnt know if this is something i could do my self by sending the jugs to the local machine shop and then specing out the pistons and rings and assembling them. Or is it easier and more cost effective to just have someone supply me with all the info and parts?
  6. Thanks bro. I only milled the head to enhance psi,of course that was before I knew the psi was low. because im new to the site and just heard of it. I only checked the psi to see a before and after effect. And im glad I did. Now i know it needs a new top end. How do i know if i can just hone it and put new rings on it? Vs. boring and new pistons and new rings? Also It seems weird that the psi was that low because it started easy, and always started on the 1st or 2nd kick. I thought if it was bad psi that it took a lot to start it.Thanks for the response.
  7. Ok, I live in mid michigan which i think is around 800ft. My compression was 105 in each cylinder. I milled the head .030" and it raised it too 120/123 maybe 125 Guage has 5psi grads. My question is when I baught the shee the guy said it had a recent overbore, but he didnt know how much. My question is does this sound right? Does the stock compression sound correct and does the after mill psi sound correct. I thought a .030 should of raised the psi 25-35 in each cyl. Should I get a new tester? I didnt do any of the tricks yet...E.G oil in the cyl's, or ring clearance. I didnt do the ring trick because i dont know how. But i do know i can move the pistons fore/aft within the jugs. Am i supposed to be able to do this? And if so how much? Thanks.
  8. Thanks man. Is there a ratio that says you gain so many hp's when you gain so many psi? If so is it common accros the board is the hp gain in each cylinder? Also is the a psi difference between the .025 and the .030. I mean is there like 3 psi per .005 taken off or something? And what is the boarder for premium to mixing 50/50. Is it like 160psi or so? thanks.
  9. Hey all. Im swaping my stock head for a .025 head. When I do this should I replace the head gasket or can I reuse the original. Anything else I should know about. Do I need to "burp" the coolant at all??? If so where is the release? Thanks.
  10. OK all I was at bull gap this past weekend. I have pro circuit pipes, pro flow airbox mod, with k&N filter with outerwear cover, No air lid , proflow water pump. I had 280 mains in it to start with, but those were pretty lean. So i moved up to a 290 on the left side and a 300 on the kick side. No when i have it at wot in like say 3rd gear it sounds like it pops. I dont know if its starving for fuel or if its knocking or what. The plugs stil looked kinda lean but couldnt really tell. because i didnt want to run it if it was poping. The pilots nad needles are stock as far as i know. I ride in northern michigan. Which i think is around 800ft. above sea leve.? Can any one help me out. thanks.
  11. about how much additional hp do the pro circuits deliver?
  12. You say it adds 2hp per raised 10psi. Is that per cylinder or as a "pair" overall hp. just curious. thanks.
  13. Ok, so i have searched around, and im still wondering. My shee has procircuit platinum pipes, pro flow air box plate with a K&N filter with outerwears sock. and jetting. My question is that i want to mill my head, but dont know how much. I heard people say .025 and .030. What would the compression / performance difference be?? I know you can't go over .030 because of the squish band. But what would be the pros or cons or .025 vs. .030 ?? I usually run premium with a mixture of turbo blue anyways, so access to fuel isnt an issue. Also I live in mid michigan and ride around west branch which I think is around 800ft in elevation. Thanks. Also what should i clean/wash the head with after i mill it?? thanks. What increase in compression should i see. I think they are around 120 right now, but what is the best way to do an accurate compression test??
  14. Ok, this might be a simple fix but I don't know. The shee starts well and run great when its dry. However when ever I start going through trails with water 1 plug goes down but if I holod the gas wfo it will somtimes come back, it also does it after I wash it. it barely starts and only runs on one plug. Do I have a plug problem, a plug wire, coil issue. Im assuming something is getting wet that isnt supposed to, but what exactly is up there and what is susceptable? Thanks.
  15. Ok, so I can unhook the "2 spade" connectors under the gas tank. Its the connectors that come from the tors "tubes" correct? Also I have to pull out the connector ( single plug) that is hooked to the clutch/parking brake, and a connector that is by the throttle some where. Where is the throttle connector located? Also do I need to unplug something from some box under the gas tank? Next... What are the main benifits of Just unplugging the system and not buying an eliminator kit? Can you just unplug this? Will the shee still start and run with everything disconnected? It just won't idle correct? And yes I searched a few pages and even a few forums. thanks.
