Started off with 350's wouldn't rev out on top. Went down to 340's and it's getting better. I just picked up a set of 330's. Goin' out to the shop right now...

Just for sled applications or any carb using standard pilot jets. Banshee carbs have specific pilots. They almost look like little threaded pills. They are smaller in diameter and are shorter than regular pilots. I hate that place, spent thousands there Speaking of which I just ordered a set of DG alloys in red and some new Progressive front shocks

When you pulled your carbs out of the bike, you would have had to unscrew the carb tops. When the tops where loosened off, you would have withdrawn them from the carb. Below the carb tops (attached to the cable ) are the slides. Now poking out the bottom of the slide should be the needle. On the top of this needle (which is hidden inside the slide) is where you'll find the clip. To get to the clip, hold the slide upside down gather the spring in with your fingers and withdraw the brass cable keeper. Sometimes a shake will loosen it. After that's out, slide the cable end out of the cable mount. Now when you look down at the cable mount there should be two Phillips screws holding the cable mount to the slide. Remove these. Then the cable mount will come out. You can now see the top of the needle and the clip in question. Cup your hand over the top of the slide and flip the slide upside-down. The needle should fall out of the slide into your hand. Be careful to not let the needle fall. Now move your clip to the new position. With the pointy end pointing to the ground, moving the clip lower will richen and higher will lean out. Instalation is the reverse of the above instructions.

I still have the stock pilots in. I just left the screws where they were. I knew I should have richened it up. Gonna go get some bigger mains now It sickens me to think that the Banshee is going to require the same mains as my ZR500/700 swap with twin D&D's and open 44mm carbs... It runs 350's and the plugs couldn't look better. Pulls like a freight train. almost as good as my TCAT radar run sled

My elevation is sea level and I guess temps are around 75-95 degrees. I do have the K&N clamp on style filters. When I go to Royal this morning I will get 330/340/350 and go from there. I don't think that I will be able to find a Yamaha dealer open today to get the 27.5 pilot. Do you think that I may just be able to richen up the pilot air screw and get away with it or is it probably wiser to just get the 27.5? I'd like to ride today but if it means I'm gonna be doing the top end this afternoon, I can wait...

Bought the pipes off of eBay. Plus I removed the airbox and went to K&N individual air filters .

...And man do they look sweet! Had to get creative with the right side pipe hanger and I had to make up some mounts to drop the silencers because the hole on the mounting tab and the one by the grab bar didn't line up as the silencer body would be pushed up against the grab bar. I don't know exactly what the problem is. These are supposed to be some of the best fitting pipes out there. The only mount that matched right up was the left side pipe hanger. I also have the tabs on the INSIDE of the hanger, not the outside. I found that the flanges mate up square and I get better frame clearance all around. So I went out for a quick boot and she's pretty lean. When I was out grabbing jets, I went for 30 pilots and 320 mains. Stock needle, 4 position. Two things are very wrong. When I was at Royal I decide to get spendy and buy some of those K&N's that everyone is recommending. This throws a big wrench in things as I was originally gonna run the airbox. Problem #2 is that when I asked for mains he handed me the SNOWMOBILE style ones. I build/setup/maintain sleds in the winter so naturally I didn't think twice about taking them until I got home and opened up the carbs. So I left the 25's in and went for a tear. Onto my questions: I guess I should probably grab some 340-350 mains? Should I go with 30 pilots? Stock everything except for T5's and K&N filters att sea level. P.S. I grabbed a 15 small sprocket, hopefully it will dumb it down some when I get the jetting dialed in as well as make the gears a little longer.

Well I've made the decision to go to a set of UNI's ( I know most prefer the K&N ) I guess I'm gonna have to start with some 310-320-330's? Stock 'shee+T5's and UNI filters at sea level.

Start with the numerically bigger set (280's). If it's too fat, go to the 270's

Where we ride, noise isn't an issue. In fact we're building a new track way out in the sticks where my buddies' Parent's just bought a bunch of land. As far as I know in this general area DBs aren't given a second look. There's always souped up cars, trucks and other recreational vehicles with obnoxious exhaust systems running around here. They're just part of the scenery when you move here. Thanks for lookin' out for a Brother though I will run the 'shee first with the stock needle and go from there. Big difference with the clamp on's? I was thinking of running with no lid or modifying the lid to make it breathe better. I dunno, just wanna keep the airbox on just in case. I do however ride where it's dry/dusty so it may be an option later.
