  6. I guess I'll do the upsidown bolt head with two welded nuts backyard mechanic special then... Damn I wish I remembered that beforehand.. Thanks
  7. An easy-out, patience, and 3 hours..... I've got 3 broken off on my project Banshee, just waiting for a nice lazy day so I don't try to rush it...
  8. Not sure what direction I want to go with this one, going to do the arms, and a +2 swingarm for sure though. Seems the big ticket items are going to be Wheels, pipes, and shocks. Have to get those as the stockers were in poor shape... What to do with this plastic? the rear fenders droop, and the front plastic was trashed... had to get out the air sander to get it possibly useable, the guy I got it from tried some kind of stripper and well you can figure the outcome..
  9. So now that I forgot to pull it before coating, how do I do it now??? Who has the special tool, or do I need to make one??? Already have the stem re-build kit in hand.. Thanks
  10. Here's the scoop, I came across this cheap Banshee about a month ago, and could not pass it up... This thing was in pretty bad shape, needed bushings, bearings, etc and was all stock except a "fresh rebuilt engine" quoted the owner. Took it home and tore it to pieces. Now this thing is a budget quad, I can't go overboard. Also took the top end off for inspection/cleanup/possible port job. Fresh 65.5 bore and a new Hot Rods crank. It's a good start... Hit up the bay for a 25 dollar seat cover, and supprisingly it came out very nice.. So far it has been torn down, excess brackets removed, blasted, and done in Silver vein. Cut front fenders, sent a ton of pieces to the coaters. New bearings/bushings in hand. Also just found a set of Mint +2 +1 Armarillo arms with tie rods, brush gaurds, and braded lines for 315 shipped, they should be here mid-week. Is this a reasonable price? What do you guys think?
  11. I was going to make the whole front a one-piece, so the liner would have no seams. Think that would fly?
  12. I'm breathing some new life into this banshee, and think I may try it... Any suggestions?
  13. Looking for the above... Also looking for aftermarket bumper/grab bar Thanks!
  14. Thanks guys... No spacer plate, no porting, stock head. Base gasket is .270 (inches) TDC does NOT extend past the cylinder. Any idea on this crank and it's markings? It looks BRAND new.. I'll take a pic and post it. What direction should I head for max preformance? Quad will be a shop display bike, ridden maybe 6-10 times a year in open fields. Need it to be reliable, but potent. Already pulled the jugs for coating, what Mfg. do you suggest for the gasket kit? The head is pretty rough in the domes, The seller may have grenaded it, had it fixed, then sold it.... He was an older guy into 4x4 quads but wanted a bike to keep up with the kids on Blasters. After the Shee he went to a blaster himself.. Benifits of a "cool head" ??? Thanks, Scott
  15. Purchased a 92 banshee that the seller claimed was a "Stroker 400" Price was so low I did not care one way or the other... Took the top end off to poke around and this is what i found. Cylnder Bore 65.007mm Piston OD 65.002mm Pistons marked with the following.. 6388C - Toward the intake 513M06550 Across the middle Hotrod Crank stamped with CK 121 On the rods HR 204 On the crank. Any takers??
