  1. Thanks, that's my plan for tomorrow. If I unplug the TORS at the carb, does that mean that the parking brake switch is now useless? Or, could the TORS still be affecting the left carb? I read the write-up as to how those things worked, to the best I can understand, just unplugging them should do the trick to isolate that whole mess, right? Thanks
  2. Hi All, Gotta question for the experts: My stock 2000 Banshee would start, then almost immediately quit firing on the left side. I took the carb off, checked the reeds, put in a new plug: Same problem. I then unplugged he TORS wires from the carbs. The bike then started and ran fine, but when riding it up and down the street, anything more than about half throttle, the left side quits firing. Any ideas? This one has me stumped! Thanks for any advice! Brian
  3. I just got mine from Hy Tech ATV in Fontana, CA . I think they were around 136 each. I tried to beat the deal a few different places, but couldn't.
  4. Sandman, Thanks. That's exactly the advice I was looking for. I've got a Glamis trip this weekend....I'm just going to leave the drain hose off for this ride and when I get home I'll drill and plug. Thanks! Brian
  5. I did some more research.......maybe I should NOT have put back the cushion rings???!! I looked at the Toomey website that talks about installing the Barnett clutch and it says dont' use the cushion rings???? Maybe I'll take it back apart tomorrow to try this. Brian
  6. Hello! I just put in a new clutch....a special kit from Hy Tech in Fontana, CA. Basically, it's Yamaha friction, plus Barnet plates and HD Barnett springs. Into a '02 Banshee. I've lined up the top pressure plate correctly with the arrows and I've adjusted it both in and out..... When the bike runs, I can shift and ride normally, although it seems harder to get in and out of gears. When I'm sitting still, I've lost neutral completely when the bike is running! There's no way to find neutral unless you stop the bike and move it in once the bike is off. It's hard to move the gears around sitting and idling with the clutch in and it seems like it's not releasing all of the way, although I've currently got it all of the way out. Any thoughts? Or does it just need to "wear in?" Thanks, Brian
  7. I just got my set of Kehin PWK 28 mm's in....I'm about to bolt them in, but the fuel drain hose on the left carb runs right into the clutch actuator on top of the case. I notice that there is also a "side dump" drain but it is plugged. Can I plug the lower drain and drill out the side drain and attach the drain hose there? Or, is there any danger in just leaving the drain hose unattached from the bottom of the carb? What's the best way to get these things in there properly? Thanks! Brian [email protected]
  8. Thanks for all of your suggestions....I've checked the hose between the carbs and I'm pretty sure the bowl didn't get swapped as I've worked on the carbs "one at a time." I'm going to check all of the other suggestions this weekend. I'll also move those idle jets up. I have a set of 30's left over from my last banshee that I'll add in to give a try. Any other suggestions? Thanks for all of your help!! Brian
  9. It's when it's warm outside...or cool...doesn't matter. If the engine just hasn't been started in a few hours (is essentially "cold") That's when it's hard to start. Thanks! Brian
  10. Hi! I've got a 2002 Banshee that I just converted to twist throttle and removed the TORS caps by replacing them with standard caps and throttle stops. I've done this conversion before on my old bike with no problems. The bike has Toomey T-5's on it and I jetted the bike to the Toomey specifications: 280 Mains, 25 Pilot. The bike runs great....once it's running. When it's cold, it is hell trying to get it to start. It's acting like I'm not getting any "choke" when cold. Even when the choke is fully out, I can't get more than a few seconds of running out of the engine before it dies. Even when it is running briefly, If I give it any throttle, it just dies out. I have to do the process about 5-10 times until it is slightly warm enough to give it some throttle. I've checked the crossover hose, it's in good shape....AND I thought I did a good job of cleaning out all of the jets from any loose metal shavings from the tap job for the throttle stops..... Any suggestions here? THANKS!!!! Brian
