  1. I dont mean to be rude but i dont think any of you are getting my point. The setup i have at the minute is not quick enuff..especially on the tracks im racing on. My engine has at the minute -Mid to top end port job -Vitos head w 18cc dones -28mm carbs bored and D shaped to 30mm -Modified standard reed blocks to use single reed -Duncan billet intake -Dynatek fully programable ignition with custom made curves -Toomey T5 pipes (used tohave paul turner midranges but swaped because not enough top end) -Custom made airbox with honda 450 filter -Hinson outer basket with machine inner hub and pressure plate to allow 8 plates to be used -Gas flowed casings -Shift star mod. Another thing is that when im racing i dont get tired when i come in from races. The way i want it to be is i have a good fast bike so that the only thing that would be holding me back is my fitness, which i itend to improve further over the winter. I want more top end. Im not in need of low down power. The powervalves will help give a smoother power delivery along with the dynatek? As for breaking, YFZ450 calipers are a very good improvement over stock. Bought a Brembo rear caliper aswell that has to be fitted. Thinking of changing pipes to trinity stage 4's as they might work better with the cheeta Just another thing to add..if anyone is looking for more power and an easier bike to ride..Get a dynatek. Unreal the difference in speed and how much easier the bike is to ride. Best thing we'v bought for the quad yet.
  2. Thanks for the offer but we dont really have much bother with postage at the minute. Its just the VAT that we have to pay when the goods arrive here is pritty anoying. We are intending to get a set of trinity powervalve cheeta cylinders but not tuned by them. There isnt really anything more i can do to the setup i have at the minute without getting differnent cylinders. Im not looking for low down power. The banshee is a revy engine and ive learnt to ride it like that. O and i only race mx....its like GNC.... Heres a few pictures of what the bike was like b4 and what stage its at at the minute. Hitting berms at about 40mph isnt good.... broken laeger a-arm and bent tie rod
  3. After a disapointings seasons racing its time to rebuild the laeger. I finished up 3rd in the Ulster Championship, 3rd in the irish and 4th in the southern. Reliability being my main holding back factor in the races with alot of overheating. On the plus side i won most of the races in all championships beating 480 4pokes etc. Going in to Premier (or A) class next year over here which im aiming for tp 15 atleast. Gona try and update this with pics as much as i can. Got the bike pritty much stripd last night with just the old engine to take out, stem and the a-arms. The plan for next year at the minute is a 421 cheeta. Will make a bit of a change from my 350 at the minute. Trying to make the bike as light as i can for next year 2. cant w8 till its finish....
  4. A set of YFZ450 front calipers are a very good upgrade 2. Big improvement over the normal banshee calipers. Under braking is a very easy place to make lots of time and a good place for passing 2
  5. My advice would be to keep 28's My shee has the high end midrange ported barrels on standard bore, bridge cut out of standard reed cages with single reed petals, duncan billet intake, hinson clutch, toomey t5 pipes, 28mil carbs bored out to 30mil and D shaped, vitos cool head with 18cc domes and a custom aluminium airbox and custom piping because of the laeger frame.. On a grass track in a straight line its exactly the same as a 480 duncan/atv world yam 450. Only place i beat him was under breaking. Point im trying to make is that a banshee engine was made to rev so dont really understand the point in people wanting low down power. Make it rev! My advice would be get gud suspension to start with. the best you can afford. handleing is more important than power. the +1 means the a arm is an inch forward
  6. From what ive heard they arnt going to make them anymore. They used to make them in batches of 6 and wouldnt build them until they had the full order of 6 but the last 1st they made came out with the Duncan gold and black PDV bike. Im waiting on them making me a new bottom right a-arm for my Laeger shee. It broke in half when i hit a berm in an Ulster Championship in Ireland......its gonna take them 6 wks!
  7. Yea i think this user is here too. 45k for a standard framed banshee,.....talk about expensive!!!!
  8. My first full build was around 11 months or so ago on the banshee you see im my sig. It used to be blue. Tore it down, rebuilt the pro-trax, rebuilt engine, powdercoated frame, hubs and bought new plastics, polished, painted etc etc.. Heres what it used to look like before the tear down Keep em comin by the way
  9. Come on then. What age did you start building your own bikes. i.e. building your own engines and the rest of the bike. ive been at quads 11 years and im only 17. been helping my dad with them for ages. Now he lets me build them myself. built the shee engine a few times by myself now and pritty much do everything by myself and nothing has went wrong since ive built it...except for it overheating and ceasing. :: ps. not talking about porting, boring and stuff like that. Martin
  10. http://www.hiper-technology.com/ I was talking about the yellow label rims with the rolled edge. The ones the pros use in the GNC. Red labels are too soft.
  11. I dont have the 450 rear shock installed. Ive got a custom axis shock on the rear. Ill take pictures of how the Laeger setup is and post them up tomorrow to see if this can help you out.
  12. i THINK that the red labels are the .190. Not 100% sure tho. ive got red labels on the front of my shee but they are way too soft for mx....had to get rings welded into them. Had red labels on the rear n they were bent really bad after 2 racing events so i went to hipers. there are new yellow label wheels out which are supposed to be stronger than the reds.
  13. Ive got a Yam 450 standard rear shock, its 19 inches center eye to center eye.
  14. A shorter swingarm will make for better cornering......the place on a track where the most time can be made is in the corners  Go shorter!
  15. Been looking on www.sudco.com ,one of the main keihin people and they dont have the DEK or EEK needles listed for the 28mm's. They have them listed for the larger carbs. The PWK 28's use a different series of needles from the other carbs. The needle that is in our carbs is marked N68X. Anyone any idea what this is equivlent to? Martin
  16. Thanks for that. Will give that a go when we get the carbs on
  17. Need a rough idea about what size of jets to put in my Keihein PWK 28mm's bored to 30mm. My motor had a mid to top end MX port job, modified standard reed cage with bridges cut out, duncan billet intake, paul turner midrange pipes, dynatek ignition, vitos cool head with 22cc domes (changing to 18cc very soon) Thanks, Martin
  18. I bought an AC bumper for my blaster a while back and it was a pain in the ass to fit. Got an AC grab bar on the back of my banshee an it fits ok tho?? Damn thing is strong too cause when i fliped her the subframe bent and there were only cracks in the welding of the grab bar!!
  19. Guy walks into the toilet. "Is this where all the dicks hang out?"
  20. Real nice mx banshee there^^^ Who makes tho a-arms?
  21. Nope. All yamaha. Think Laeger gave a choice when the frames were being built of either using honda parts or yamaha.
  22. Does anyone know if 250r calipers will fit a Banshee? I know that Duncan Racing use them on the PDV bikes but they may have a honda front end. Has anyone done this mod?
  23. Thanks!! Wait till you see the pictures of it at the end of winter.....cant wait until it finished and runing again!
  24. Heres mine, In the process of a rebuild!!
