It seems like bikes are more expensive here in NJ/NY, i see a lot of 04-05 YFZ going for around $3k and the nicer 08-up are going for close to $6k.

Very well put "bbcmudtruck" the new YFZ450r's are sweet machine and they look like they can be one hell of a bike. What exactly is needed to get more power from them ??? Fuel re-mapping, bigger injector ????

I was only considering the 2011 DS450 XMX b/c I dont know anyone that owns one and they are fully setup with long travel front suspension, fuel injection, KYB dual rate shocks, beadlock wheels, anti-vibe +1 steering stem, Rear Extendable Axle from stock to +4, inverted front brakes, fully bolted up frame(no welds).

Yea I think Mike is selling his, but I am not sure of the year of his. I know the older YFZ's had issues with the oil and needed a modification. So I want something a little newer. Like an 2008 and up YFZ or 2006 up LTR.

You guys are awesome and it sounds like I am leaning towards the YFZ or the LTR. There is no way that I will be getting a TRX they are slow and the suspension out the box on them are trash. I am really starting the like the YFZ450R b/c of the looks and good things I hear about them. The bbcmudtruck has is sick hott.

I run Shearers and I ride everything, I would say Shearers are my first choice out of the 3.

Yea the LTR 450 is sweet I use to own one back in 2006. I purchased brand new and ended up selling it like a dumb ass. I wish I still had it. I was looking around on craigslist and they are going pretty cheap right now so maybe I will snatch one of those up. The LTR have a ton power on the bottem and end pull up top, plus its easier to find aftermarket parts for them.

Honda 450r is definitley not even a choice. Joe yours is pretty sick and fully setup which makes it a awesome bike, but out the box the 450r's are trash.

Now that I have got my Banshee to where I am pretty much done with mods. I am looking to add a 4-stroke bike to my garage and need opinions. I am currently looking at the Can-AM DS450 X MX, YFZ450, and LTR450. I am leaning towards snatching up the DS b/c they are fully setup with long travel suspension from the factory along with extended rear axle. If anyone could give me so information on the bikes and which is a better buy please do and I Thank you ahead of time.

Thanks, TZ. I actually have a brand new Tusk Clutch Kit with HD springs that I got for $40, so I am going to thro that in the bike for now. If the clutches get toasted within the year I will grab a new one then. I figured since I had the Tusk kit already I might as well use it.

I use them on all my builds, they are good quality and make the bike look great

If your beating your buddy cub motor on 35's & R2's, he either is not very good rider or his bike needs to be tuned. He should be continuing to blow your doors off, by several bike lengths.

Go on Ebay, I just seen a clean ass set going for like $400 I think.

Yea I had a driveline in my old 4mm motor that was great, but I was thinking about reusing the current TUSK clutch I have but wanna make sure it can hold up to the Serval Cub motor.

I am in the process of building a 4mm Serval motor on 93 pump fuel. I currently have a TUSK clutch kit in my stock stroke-dune ported motor that is holding up well with no slippage problems. My question is will a TUSK clutch kit with HD springs be able to hold up to a 4mm Serval motor ???

LOL yo its 45degrees outside man, and my arthritis in my hands be locking up. But if all you guys wanna ride this weekend I will come out. I am definitely down for the LS trip tho, nothing is stopping me from going.

That Bike is STRAIGHT UGLY AS HELL. I would pay over $1500 for that bike.
