  1. yea modifying a 500 is cheap good idea, stick with that idea . It'll be on ebay when you get smoked.
  2. That could be the case. All I ride is sand dunes and at the dunes there is no comparison between a slightly modified banshee and a slightly modified yfz. Depending on what kind of terrain you ride that could be the difference.
  3. Any stock banshee is going to be slow. You are comparing apples to oranges. Stock vs. stock of course your dirtbike is going to be faster thats pretty much common sense. In order for your banshee to be fast your are going to have to put some money into it. I see KX 500's get smoked all the time at the sand dunes by banshees. A banshee will go as fast as your wallet is deep. As far as the yfz 450 goes from what I have seen they are faster and have more torque than a stock banshee but put a set of pipes and k&n's on your banshee and do the same on your yfz and prepare to get your ass roosted by a banshee. Just my .02
  4. If your banshee had stock pipes before then you will definitely have to re-jett and will want to at least get some bigger jets. You could wait on the intake if you want.
  5. It depends on what kind of riding you do. I have had the T4's and T5's on my Shee. They both produced excellent power. The T5's I felt had a broader range of power. But the T5's didn't pull on the top end like T4's. I loved both pipes but since I am 6'3" and 275 the T5's had more useable power for me (more lower to mid range powerband). That is just what I have experienced, some of these other guys might have different experiences. If your going to use your bike for all kinds of riding I would get the T5's. If you are going to hill shoot or drag alot, the T4's would be better. That dyno doesn't show what I experienced personally but there are alot of variables.
  6. I bought a brad new pair of the cpi's too. Header wrap is the trick, no burning whatsever on your filters.
  7. i'm out there quite a bit too and I haven't seen a whole lot of other fourwheelers at sand mountain that can hang with a modified banshee. Just my experience though.
  8. 60 to blast and 60 to coat. Post their contact info when you find it. I have some I'll drop off too.
  9. The cylinders have been drag ported by K&T. I am running V-Force reeds and FTZ 35mm Carbs if this helps at all. Let me know what you guys think. Thanks

  11. Thats what I was wondering. This is a new bike I just bought and it came with fmf's on it. It hasn't been running like I thought it would so I figured the pipes and compression might be part of the problem "it only had 21cc domes i it". In my old bike I had T5's and a Pretty crazy port job and I was running 370 main jets. It ran awesome like that. I guess I could play around with it and see but I wasnt for sure if I should just throw in the bigger jets or not.
  12. Thanks for the help. I'll start there.
  13. I kind of figured I would I just wanted to make sure. So you think a couple sizes on the main should do it?
  14. I just sold my fmf pipes and bought some cpi in frames. I also changed my domes from 21cc to 18cc. Does anyone have information on if I should have to re-jet or not. I don't remember exactly what jets I am running. The elevation here is close to 5000 feet. Let me know
