  1. just wanted to make sure that with the pods that box uses, the motor will get enough air. any performance advantage with the boss intake, or is it just made to last longer than the stock rubber boots?

My stock boots were wrecked and i got a good deal the boss intake, I couldn't tell you if there is any gain because i added them at the same time I added 20cc domes, ported jugs, and the airbox. As far as the post below about CFM, I have also heard many bad things but i got a swinger and airbox from them with no problems, maybe i just have good luck?

  2. for riding real muddy trails, flying thru puddles etc, after this weekend it is seeming to me like the toomey 2:1 might not be the best setup for me. is the cfm airbox any good? which filters are better to get with it, the k&n or the UNI? how much airflow would i lose by switching to this from the 2:1? or should i just stay with the 2:1, or do a stock airbox with a filter? what is going to have the best combo of performance and water protection?

I run a cfm airbox with Unis and i love it. I went with the uni filter because it can get pretty dusty where i ride and they seem be be better at keeping it out. But i also hit lots of puddle and stream crossings and i have had no trouble. Plus it looks a hell of alot better than stock.

  3. i dont think you have to balance it as long as you use a dial indicator when you set it up in the lathe .i did my own and had no problems with it

How much are you guys taking off, I can get stuff done for free at the local machine shop, But they know nothing about banshees, so their not sure how much to take off. I have a spare flywheel that i would like to get done, So does anyone have any measurements or anything like that I can give to them?

  4. I went through the same thing when i bought my boss intake, I bought one of the aluminum airboxs like posted above and then had to cut like 2 inches off of it before it fit. I like the setup but it was kind of a pain to get it all to fit. I ride trails with lots of mud and watercrossings too and I take my time when it gets deep and have never had a problem with water getting in. I couldn't find a way to modify my stocker to fit and still needed an air box so this was the best solution i could come up with, looks a hell of alot better too.

  5. CHeck compression to be sure. If it is 160, you may be able to run +4 timing and pump gas. I had a stocker with 155 psi and +5 timing and it ran great on 93 octane.

Yah Im going to check compression before i do anything, but even if i can get away with pump gas, I still have 5 gallons of C12 that I can burn, So will it hurt to run straight C12 or should I mix it 50/50?

  6. Well I recently changed to 20cc domes and Im going home this weekend to try it out. I'm expecting around 160psi, my Squish is .050 and I'm pretty much at sea level . I have talked to a few people with similar setups and some run race gas an some don't. So I picked up some C12 just incase. My question is can I mix it 50/50 with 91pump or do I run it straight? I'm sure someone here can point me in the right direction.

    Thanks

  7. Ok sorry i guess i worded that wrong. I wanted to know what i should be looking for when i measure it. I know how to do it, just looking to for a number to compare to when i do meausre it. I have a few different size base gaskets cause I want to make sure its all good.

So 0.035'' - 0.045'' is what i should be looking for, correct?

  8. Sorry to hear that. I hope you get yours. I got mine in 4 working days. I think Teamrealtree got one off him to. Anyway never herd of CFM before but it seems to be good quality swingarm.

I have already got a stock style +2 from him about 2 years ago and the deal went fine, but this one was a roundhouse, anyways he finally got back to me today and told me that it was shipped 3 weeks ago, But I only purchased it 2 weeks ago. He said he was goin to track it down, but who knows.

  9. I ordered a +2 roundhouse from him over 2 weeks ago on ebay. The guy asnwered all my questions until i paid him and now he will not even answer my emails to see if it has been shipped. I was pumped that i got a swinger so cheap but now i think i might have got screwed?

  10. Yah you make a good point. I'll just pick up some race gas and leave my timing where it is now.

I have never used any higher octane gas before so what would be the right stuff to buy. I think i can only get VP around here but I looked on their website and theres a bunch of different kinds, I want to make sure i get the right stuff. Do you need certain oil too? I currently use Lucas semi synthetic, can i continue to use this?

Sorry for so many questions, but I appreciate the help

  11. So should i be safe to run premium pump gas or should i have to switch to race gas, asuming that i will have around 160lbs. I think that it will probably be borderline? what do you think?

I dont mind running race gas for a while, but i will probaly just get some 21cc after a while cause all i can get around here is VP and its pretty expensive.

  12. you will see around 16lbs to 20lbs going down to sizes in domes. Quick question though that compression seems kinda low for your altitude. Do you have pretty aggresive porting done?

No I have just a clean up port, but the motor is getting a bit tired so its probably lower than it should be. Its getting a new top end and welded crank at the same time as the new domes.

So i should expect to see a 32-40lbs increase when goin down 2 sizes right?

  13. I just ordered a set of 20s for my coolhead, I know I will find out whether or not I need to run higher octane once i check my compression, but I was just curious as to what you guys think.

my elevation is around 0-500 ft

I have about 130lbs with 22cc domes, so what should i expect with 20cc domes?

I also have an adjustable timing plate set at +4
