  1. Reply to #4 Realistically, Those jugs are worth $150-300 bones. Allthough last year I got an entire running rz engine for $630. Just got lucky I guess.
  2. I was not aware Raptors were "good". Just kiddin There ok, just not my cup -o- tea.
  3. Good question, I want to know too.
  4. What all is needed to perform this mod? I want to get one, Do I need to buy a gasket and/or another gear? Or does it come with the kit? I also want to get that quick drain system. That just looks like it would be nice and I'm a stickler on coolant changes at least once a year.
  5. http://www.esr250.com/banshee.htm#powervalve I was wondering how these stacked up to cheetah cub or rz jugs? They look kinda expensive. My brother wants to get the ES. 250r pv head for his 3wheeler. I think he should just get a shee. Anybody run these? Any opinions on these pv jugs?
  6. I like 32:1 but then again I love to kill skeeters. A 2stroke that does not smoke at least a bit is not long for the world.
  7. I have a warrior that I'm gona sell because it's so loud and slow. I don't think putting the pipe on it helped it at all, it just made it annoying. I also bent the frame just by doing small jumps. It's a good general purpose quad but keep the pipe off of it and keep it out of the air and it's OK.
  8. As far as I know to ride a 2stroke legaly on the road, You have to have a vintage machine or some how go through the right channels and get one imported. But in IL they won't let you ride a quad or three wheeler on the road at all. (not without a ticket or fine or a lil jail time)
  9. I'm glad you got it back, I had some vintage dirtbikes stolen from me years ago. They were neighbors that moved away and thought they would come back for my bikes. They fucked them both up, broke the fenders off the honda xl 175 and ran non mixed gas in the kx 80. (dickheads) I wonder how many times when a bike is ripped off, it's a neighbor or some on you know.
  10. Thanks guys, I Will keep what I got and I'm ready for the dirt.
  11. I've been hearing conflicting stories on which is better. I currently have a k&n and I was told by my buddy to scrap it and go w/ a uni. I don't want to buy a uni and then find out that the k&n is better. Can someone set the reccord stright for me? I ride in alot of dust sometimes and I don't want to cash out my engine from not having the right filter. On a side note: My Shee is running like a raped ape thanks to the tips, facts and people on this forum. This place is great and I got to say LONG LIVE THE BANSHEE!!!! 4 strokes are for sellouts and the meek, Banshee riders are neither. (no offence to 4-strokers, After all I have one. I just don't like it.)
  12. Well, I got an assortment of jets on the way ranging from 340-290 I will start high and work downward. I also heard the k&n filters are not ideal for dusty conditions. So I think I will just remove the entire airbox and just put on uni foam pods, seein how I will be removing these carbs alot to establish proper jetting. A buddy of mine said that I should replace the stock impeller ASAP w/ a billet one, Do any of you guy agree or dissagree w/ this coarse of action? Damn it, are those jets in yet?
  13. Thanks for the reply, I'm gona try it w/out the snorkel and if that don't do it I will drill out the lid. If that don't do it, I'm stumped. It has to be a lack of air to the engine. At least I sure hope it is. If I drill out the airbox lid or add foam pods, Should I be increasing my mains to about 300 or so? 270 seems like it might be a bit meek. Im about 700' above sea level.
  14. Ok, I think that I may have found the problem. I read a jetting faq by a Mr Ben Boal very helpful http://www.dfn.com/benkaren/jetfaq.html ( I'm sure most of you know this and/or have read it ) if not I recommend it. I think that with my pipes and af, running the snorkel and/or the stock airbox lid is a downright bad idea, The motor has to breath. No wonder she cuts out when it's gunned. At least I sure hope this is the prob. I just dropped $3500 on a shee that dose not run that great Do people drill out thier airbox lids or is it better to just remove it? If I remove it I don't know how to secure the af from bouncing out. Suggestions?
  15. Hello, I'm a new banshee owner, it's an 02 w/Dmc Aliens and K&N filter. I'm not at all happy with the way this unit is running. It seems to start easy and has an OK low and mid range. But it cuts out when I give it everything on the high end. It was so bad that my brother somked me on a 350x 3 wheeler.( what an Embarrassment) I just got the unit yesterday and right away I knew she was not running right. So today I cleaned the carbs and changed the plugs still no good. I did find out that the main jets are 270 and it has a K&N d035a6 filter that looks like it needs to be oiled I did not have any filter oil so I did not do anything to it. Does this sound right for jetting? I think that they may have jet the pipes for the stock filter and then the DPO added the filter later I don't know. Can someone help me? This thing is supposed to whip ass. I will not rest till she does!
