  1. if the slides are in right it is the switch in the throttle lever housing. just remove it and plug the hole with silicone. try this first because it is much easier to get to and I had the same problem.
  2. your suspension travel is supposed to be limited by the shock and with a shock that is too long the travel is limited by the ball joint and over time the repeated banging of metal on metal will break the ball joint and it has happened to me on a blaster which ended up ruining my riding season this year due to 2 broked ribs and a broken elbow. it doesnt only happen when you go big off the jumps but even when you are just taking turns at a fast pace.I know they are too long because you said you had to muscle them in, they should have just slid right in with the weight off the wheels.
  3. ok I just bought a 2000 banshee knowing that it was overheating and since i am a mechanic with a blaster,predator,warrior,lt250 and yamaha xt 550 i figured how hard can this be and boy was I wrong. I think everything is related so I will describe it all. I am at 1200ft above sea level. It smokes more from the left pipe than the right all the time, the idle is high and it overheats within 10 minutes of riding (temp is 80). the water pump impeller is fine and it turns when i push the kickstarter,it has coolant,I know the rad cap is good because I left it on when i opened the water pump and only some coolant came out then I took the lid off and the rest came out,and I think its running alittle rich. MODS gnarly pipes, boost bottle,k&n with the airbox lid on. It has 260 main jets. If the jetting is off what is a good starting point?
