  1. Thanks for the knowledge and advice fellas, I am going to stay away from used electrical (gut feel, past experience) Appreciate the input and keep it coming,This site kicks A$
  2. Thanks SAVAGE, I've been I-balling this 1, but needed some input as I purchased some new NGK caps and tested before install (good to go) Now both sides dropping out and with below spec OHM's on the coil, I've decided that the stocker is puking after it gets warm.
  3. No thanks on used electrical.
  4. Ok fellas, Which 1 do I buy that will work the best?
  5. Here is a carb kit for each stocker with no Tors. Use the select option for yamaha! http://www.procycled...TS?item=1915234
  6. Thanks dude, I already purchased these earlier today! http://cgi.ebay.com/...=item2c53c8f6d4
  7. 6$ apiece, for stock caps? Give me the name of the place!
  8. Ok, Here is what I found out. Found an online service manual, But not for my "04" Anyway, The source and pickup coil test within spec. The primary and secondary coil show no reading within the spec#'s at all. The right plug wire cap showed 23k ohm and the left showed no reading. screwed the caps back on the wires as I took them off and test rode. Still dropping the left from 1/4 to 1/2 throttle but came back in from 1/2 to full throttle. Switched the left cap to the right side and the right cylinder was dropping from 1/4 to 1/2 throttle. Right came back from 1/2 to full. So, Should I buy just the caps for 21$ apiece and stay stock and try first before a new stock coil, Or go with whichever best aftermarket coil you all suggest!
  9. Thanks dude I'll check it.
  10. No, But I will. Do you know what spec is?
  11. Checked the boots before the wire swap,Looked great! Thanks for the help
  12. Been running the toomey pipes and kit since "04" with the same clip position and I have never had an issue till now! I just think i'm cursed
  13. If you've been using the 927 then! My old saying is, (IF IT AIN'T BROKE, DON'T FIX IT) I guess I'm just old school!
  14. New plugs, carbs cleaned,Carbs were not even dirty (complete rebuild kit) and synch'd, plug wires switched (no diff)) and Source and Pickup coils test within speck from manual. This SOB! is kick'n my Arse trying to figure out! Friggin 2 strokes!
  15. Where is the resistor?
  16. Reeds are fine, Not cracked or broken, Can they become weak? They are 5 yrs. old with about 140 hrs on stockers.
  17. Would this make 1 side run fine and the other not,or would it affect both sides? I was having a prob with the right(now fixed, new pilot) and now the left is dropping out just like the right did.I also have a new pilot in the left.:angry:After I put the new needle and seats in both carbs, the left ran fine.
  18. Already tried that,no diff. but thanks for the input.
  19. No, I have not and I guess I will have to buy a manual to do this as I don't have 1. I did discover that the carbs were not totaly in sync and we have them to a knats azz(eyeball), I know I probably need the carb sync tool from Fast. 1st I'm gonna run it tomorrow and see what happens since we got the carbs more precise. If no worky, Then I will look into the stator! Thanks for the info dude!
  20. Anyone have some Ideas.
  21. thanks man,I'm right there at 120-125. Got a minor problem. starts an idles fine and runs strong but will sometimes die after returning from wide open to idle in the upper gears. sometimes the right cylinder wants to drop off at 1/4 to 1/2 throttle but will come on and run fine from 1/2 to wide open. I don't think its a fuel delivery or fuel issue in itself. Carbs have been inspected and cleaned(no dirt or issues internally) Float height is good.Pulled and inspected the reeds(none broke or missing) Pulled left cover to see if there might be a crank seal issue,(did not see any residue or smell any fuel or oil. The bike is 5 yrs old and I have freshend the topend which has maybe 40 to 50 hrs on it.I am religous about a clean air filter and I run yamalube 2r at 36:1. I kinda scrath'n my arse here trying to figure this out!
  22. Did a search to no avail, anybody know the #'s
  23. You need to make sure that the cutaway on the slides are facing away from the cylinders, there is a left and right slide. You can put the left slide in the right carb and visa versa but it won't run worth a damn!
  24. Thanks for the pic,I will save for future reference.
  25. Thanks for the help! I read your sig and it's no wonder that your wallet has been taken hostage.
