  1. I really dont ride my bike here much cause there is too much damn loose dirt. But when i do ride it's pretty much fast trail riding racing my buddies on thier 450's. But what i look foward to is dune riding. Some drags up comp hill and some fast beach riding in Mexico stuff like that. Some times a bunch of people get together and drag race on dirt. So i would say pretty much fast riding/drag(moderate) racing.
  2. Aight fellas. I finally saved cash for the shee. But i am still debating on what to do with the motor. I know i am getting Lightened flywheel = $60 Advanced timing with the plate = $50 Noss Head w\20cc domes(or 18's) = $300 New Rear Tires = $200 That leaves me with about $900 for the motor. Locogato suggested Eric Gorr's trail port like $250 more or less. and some carbs like $300. But A&S and other builders charge $400 to 600 for port jobs and i'm thinking thats better work(more power) thats part of my dilemma. But....... I started looking at jims(passion) site and the 12port 4mm stroker kit is like $1300 I dont know how much installation and all that stuff is but, will the stroker make more or less power than the other setup, how much power (if any1 knows) I just want some educated suggestions about the two setups and the power that they will make. Please help so that i can send mymotor out so i can get the power most of every1 here has. Also, what about a CUB setup how much power more or less and comparison with the other two setups. Thanx for the help guys.
  3. What i did was just drew it in usind a template I made and a sharpi. Then i took one of my moms ginsu2000 knifes and heated the tip w/ a torch and it went thru it like butter. Also no jagged and rough edges like a saw would leave. At least mine did'nt
  4. Check that park brake rev limiter. push the park brake button in pull the handle all the way back and let go hard. If not disconnect that TORS plug on the left side of the nike under the gas tank area it should be a white colored plug.

  6. Thanx! Phuck it. I'll tear into it, I actually know how to werk on cars, but i guess i'm just a little intimidated by the fact of the banshee being a 2 stroke! But what the Phuck the book tells you everything.If not i have all of you guys. But what about the true and welded crank thing, will i really need it if i get some porting done? Also I have read alot of Eric Gorrs port jobs I think i am gonna try him out. And if i do get the porting am i gonna need bigger carbs if so , where do i get them and more or less how much $$$. One more thing I decided to take my air box lid off my bike. And with the 260 jets that were in the carbs it bogged down like in 5th and 6th gear. So i went and bought some jets at my local yamaha dealer.($3.95 a piece) I got some 270's and some 280's. Of course i put the bigger ones in but i'm not sure if i need to do anything else to the carbs. I think it's running good but it kinda smelt like antifreeze and then it started dripping the shit from the radiator, could this be from the jetting( maybe running hot) My filter is the factory foam filter. Will a k&N werk alot better. Thanx for the help guys.
  7. My bike has LRD top end pipes and i removed the airlid w a foam filter the jetting w/ lid was 260 when i took lid off it bogs sometimes. i went and bought some jets 270's and 280's i am thinking the 280's are going in first what do you guys think?
  8. Noss Head w/18cc domes - $250 Billet timing plate - $100 Lighten flywheel - $60 4 hrs. x $50/hr - $200 for install of Head,Timing plate,flywheel, and rejet. Does this sound reasonable?What do you think of the mods?The builder saids about 7 or 8 hp with the mods. Does it sound right? Also for a port job saids $450, but with that port job I will have to weld crank for becaus eof the power.Also saids carbs will have to be changed. Saids power will be around 65 to 68 hp with this. He also told me that a CUB cylinder will run me $900, but with that my power will be up to around 71 to 75 hp. Any input or recomendation wil be greatly appreciated !!

  12. My banshee is an 05 w LRD pipes and k&N filter. I went to a local shop here and i asked the guy for a littl;e more low end power. This is what he said he can do for around 650 bucks. I take my bike in he tears it down and does: Trued and welded crank,lightned flywheel, +4

  15. I just wanted to let you guys know how much i like my LRD pipes i just got installed. I went from stock pipes to these LRD's and damn wut a difference. They sound pretty damn wicked (only my opinion). They are suppose to be a mid to top end pipe, but i think the low end still kicks ass. I would recomend them to people thats for sure. They fit pretty damn good too. My little brother in law got a set of Fattys on his 01 at the same time i did and my pipes seem to give ALOT more top end , the shop that installed them jetted mine with 280 mains i believe , and his got a 220 or 230 or something like that. So i would say mine flow alot better. Well anyways you guys are right pipes is pretty much a day and night difference from stockers. Thanx for all the info on pipes from the forums.
  16. Hey i'm still trying to diagnos a noise my 01 makes from like a month ago.I just was wondering if bad reeds make noise. Shee makes a little noise kinda like a rattling noise not too much like a ticking. Also on the left carb when i open up the fuel valve fuel just starts pouring out the little hose that comes off the carb (long one that goes to bottom side of bike) Can some one plz help me! THANX
  17. I have been wanting to pipe my 05 shee for some time now. i finally saved up around 800 bucks to buy the pipes, I also wanna get the reeds and boost bottle and K & N filter for it. I think i might go with the shearers, but the LRD pipes are also cathing my eye. Any opionions will help. ALso I am wondering what the difference will be as far as top speed? I think a stock shee tops out like at 60 or something will the mods "wake up" my top speed? Any opionions and answers will be greatly appriciated. Thanx

  19. I have a 2001 Banshee all stock, last nite i started it up and noticed a little ticking sound. I kinda looked around the engine a nothing is hitting the pipes or anything so i ruled that out.It seems to be a little louder on the right side so i think it might be the water pump. My question is .. How do i diagnos its the water pump that is going bad or bad. Any help will be greatly appriciated.
