  1. Will my small bore CPI inframes be ok with the 421? Think the 33PWK's will be enough carb?
  2. Whoa there big fella... I started out asking about stoc k cylinder and next youre gonna have me on alcohol and shit...
  3. Now thats what Im talking about!!!
  4. OK, Im really leaning toward selling shit and buying cubs. With Cubs, sell the stroker crank or use it? Can I use my Trinity cool head and CPI pipes and shit?
  5. So do you think that for what Im doing with it that I should go with the stock stroke or the stroker?
  6. OK, Im finally at the end of my rope as to what to do with my motor. Im a former pro TT rider who now only rides local TT stuff, wide open fire roads, an occasional trip through sissy trails, and am now starting to like dragging. My dilemna is this... I am getting ready to send my motor out for freshening, porting, etc. I have a stock crank still in it. On my shelf, I still have a brand new Wiseco +4mm stroker crank with +5mm long Hot Rods. I'll be using stock cylinders as a starting point as I cant afford Cubs right now. Im running 33mm PWK's, Cool head with 18cc domes, CPI inframes, Fireball intake, VForce 3's, etc. For what Im looking to do, would you guys go ahead and use the stroker crank or just sell it and use the money for something else? Knowledgeable replies are appreciated.
  7. Nice pics. Ive always had good luck heating the hub around the bearing with a torch, but not heating the bearing and then using a slide hammer to get them out. In my humble opinion, I would not beat the bearings through the hub, its a good way to trash an otherwise perfectly good hub. When reinstalling, put the new bearings in the freezer for a few hours, heat the hub, and the bearings will drop right in. Just my $.02 worth. Your mileage may vary.
  8. If you plan on having that axle out more than once, or if you race and have the chance of a bent axle, I have a good tip. If you have a buddy that works in or owns a machine shop, have him/her machine you a solid block of steel about 1 and 1/2 inches square by about 4 inches long. Have them machine in female threads the same size as the axle threads into the center of one of the small ends. With this, you can screw it onto the axle before you start beating on it. This way will not screw up your old or new axle if you need to remove it. And yes, replace the seals and make sure you clean your tube and sleeve well. Just my $.02 worth. Your mileage may vary.
  9. There are differences, yes. The early calipers do not use banjo bolts for the brake lines, thus keeping you from using nice braided steel lines. Also, old school calipers will not fit newer spindles, nor will the newer calipers fit old school spindles. Its a bitch, I know, but you really are better off swapping out your calipers and spindles for newer model stuff. The use of Banjo bolts alone on the calipers alone were enough to convince me. Did the old system work? Sure, just fine. But... I went to +2 +1 arms and the old lines were too short. Braided steel extended lines wont work, so what do you do? Change out the calipers and spindles. Just my $.02 worth. Your mileage may vary.

  13. Depends on what you want. Ive had much better luck with Douglas Beadlocks than ITP's. If youre just looking for a good, plain wheel, flip a coin. The Douglas Ultimates are good wheels too, but get pricey.
