Can a decent aftermarket suspension for the banshee be comparable to a new yfz450 or trx450r suspension?

Help me out guys. I am thinking about getting rid of the banshee and getting a YFZ. I know a few people on this site have both and was wondering which one you guys liked better. I love my banshee but want to start trying some jumps and don't feel confident with the suspension on my 02 banshee. I rode a buddies trx450r and wow the suspension feels nice. I am sure the yfz suspension is similar if not better. Anyway...let me know what you guys think.

Will new handlebars make a huge difference in how much vibration gets through? I hear ProTapers are pretty good. Are they pretty much one of the best or what? sorry...don't know why it posted twice.

Hey Banshee_Le......How much did you pay for the pipes if you don't mind me asking? I paid 469 and after i recieved them i checked out the website and they changed them to 569. I guess i got them just in time. I am talking about the whole kit:pipes, silencers, jet kit, proflow adapter, and k&n. Thats what you got right?

I'm not doubting you "never satisfied", but can anyone confirm this.

Yeah...like i said i don't know much about these things. I'm going off of what my dirtbike buddy says. He is the one helping me out with this. I guess you're saying it isn't supposed to touch the bottom?

When we pulled the carb out earlier the slides still had that gap.

I would say there is almost a quarter inch gap on both carbs.

Just so i don't look like an ass.... .....the aft carb slides are supposed to be all the way down at zero throttle right? I'm no mechanic and my buddy who has a dirtbike is the one helping me on this and he says it is. Not that i don't trust a dirtbike rider... .....but i figured i'd make sure anyway.

I doubt thats the problem because i rode it last summer and it ran fine. This was the first time opening the carbs to jet it because of the pipes and filter i just put on it. So I dunno...Maybe the previous owner put them in reverse...but would it still run right like that. I know when we rejetted and tried to run it it would just bog no matter where the throttle position was put past idle position.

I take off my k&n and look through the intake hole. I do have the TORS installed still.

I did a search and couldn't find anything on this. Me and a buddy were jetting my Shee and noticed that both carb slides won't come all the way down at idle. What could be causing this. The needles are brand new and im sure they aren't tweaked. Help me out here guys...this crap is driving me insane.

I think the backfiring is because it was 30 degrees f here in Anchorage when i started the Shee up. Im not gonna ride till the spring so i think i'll just check the jetting when it warms up a little. Im not riding till the springtime any way with all this snow on the ground.

By any chance would anyone have a downloadable service manual they can send me via email? I downloaded one but it wont let me print it out because i didn't buy it. Any help would be appreciated. I just put some fattys and powercore's on and trying to get the jetting and the carbs right. I am having some backfiring and my quad is at a buddy house so i need to print the pages that talk about carb synching and idle adjustment. Thanx guys.

Wow...i really feel like a dumbass. The parts in question were inside the k&n box. Sorry about that Alba...haha. Anyway i got everthing i ordered...so you can disregard my negativity towards Alba in my last reply.

Okay, so i got my fmp fatty pipe kit order today and guess what....there was shit missing from the order. No outerware, jet kit, or filter adaptor. This pisses me off. So i call them up and they say that they are really busy and asked me if they can take a message. I ask them if they will be able to contact me back today and they say they will try. By this point i am ... . So i guess all i can do is wait. I usually don't have problems ordering stuff online...but this is gonna make me think twice about doing it again.

Just wondering if we have any Alaska riders in here? Come on, there has to be at least a couple.

I just bought some dg nerf bars for my shee. I got a really good deal because it didnt have any bolts. Does anyone have any pics of their nerfs so that i can see what kind of bolts or brackets i'm supposed to have?

Yeah they charged me for shipping. I guess what i was trying to say is that i got the best price through them even with the shipping charge. With the kit im getting the pipes, silencers, jets, k&n, and outerware 550 shipped. It might sound like alot but its the best price i can get it for shipped here.
