Gas Gas 300HP - supposed to compete with the Honda 250R and others. They're more of an enduro-type quad and similar to the C-dales back in the day due to the fact they came from the factory souped up with stuff like Ohlins shocks, wider a-arms, aftermarket style exhaust, etc. They carried a pretty hefty price tag like the C-dales too - like $7,500 for the 2-stroke and $8,500 for the 4-stroker. They make a 300cc 2-stroke and a 450cc 4-stroke.

I have a set of a-arms and tie rods off an 04 YFZ450. Bottoms of the lowers have the painted rubbed off - trail quad. Boots are in good shape with no apparent cracks. $75 shipped and I accept paypal.

Another bump for this sucky Michigan economy.
-
Gotta love Michigan's economy! My neighbor has a nice 416ex for $2000 and he can't give it away. Same holds true with my Banshee. I finally resorted to ebay for my Banshee...we'll see what happens. Your 'shee is definitely worth $2,500. If I wasn't trying to sell one right now, I'd be talking with you about it.

If someone is interested in this quad, I have a complete PV motor out of a 87 that need rebuild - motor is locked up. Haven't tore it down yet. I will include all elecrtrical and carb. May also have a stock pipe and silencer.

Dan, Give me a call about my YFZ450 shocks. Tom has my number. Also, what brand are the 285's? My brother needs new tires (and wheels) for his Z71. Also, want to take to you about this T-rex setup. If I can't get $2800 out of my shee, I may end up sinking some cash into it to make it a full duner / drag quad.

I have a set of T5's, bare finish pipes, Toomey silencers and bolt-on spark arrestors. $285 shipped.

I have 1 pound of black high temp powder that I can throw in for free if you're looking to have the pipes and stingers powdercoated.

Ok, I've recently moved into a new, bigger shop and have finally come to the realization that I don't have any free time in the spring, summer and fall anymore, so I'm listing my Banshee up for sale. Yes, this is the one that Dave (dajogejr) had posted a couple months back for his friend. It's a 1998 Banshee. It has the following mods: Brand new 4mm stroker crank (371cc), 110mm stock rod length (uses stock pistons) - less than 2hrs on break-in 2mm spacer plate installed for now, was going to ditch the plate when I ordered up a PD head and cut domes Wiseco pro-lite pistons (stock bore) - less than 2 hours on break-in Fresh gasket kit - less than 2 hours on break-in Boyessen reeds TORS removal & idle kit Stock carbs rejetted with 27.5 pilots and 360 mains (also have 340's) K&N pod filters with outerwear Toomey T5 bare finish pipes with Toomey silencers and bolt-on spark arrestors & billet clamps Heavy duty clutch with 3 stock springs and 3 HD springs Easy pull clutch lever New DG V-Pro front bumper DG rear grab bar Like new Maxxis Razr II 20x11x9 rears and Maxxis Razr 21x7x10 front tires mounted on stock Banshee wheels New adjustable timing plate (not installed) good for another 2hp increase Stock plastic is uncut and it has almost all the stock graphics kit still intact. Cylinders are still on the stock bore and look great (extremely low hours, especially for a 98). Not in a hurry to sell it so no low ballers please. Just spent $800+ on engine rebuild with less than 2 hours on break-in and have receipts to prove it. I'm asking for $3,000 OR BEST OFFER. I'll post more pictures later.

Complete setup including pipes, silencers and bolt-on spark arrestors, and new billet clamps ($45). One spark arrestor is loose and it spins but it won't come off. Pipes are bare finish. Could use a little cleaning, especially around the cylinders. Asking for $325 shipped. May do a trade plus cash on my end for CPI, Shearers, FTZ's, or similar. Best pic I have right now is this one. I will post more later.

It's a little bit of a trip for you but I use Gladwin Metal Processing - 989-426-9038 They did the old wheels on my YFZ in black chrome, a couple sets of a-arms, a couple frames and some other small items. Great price and pretty quick turn around. Expect to wait a little longer on custom colors.

Ok, anyone know make/model on these? He does want an arm & a leg for shipping. Ebay Link

Had FMF's on my last 'shee. They're more of a low-mid range pipe. Good for trail riding and stuff like that.

What size? Rims included? I don't need blaster rims, willing to split up?

450 engine rebuild how much $
yfz450 replied to Hollister_Hitman's topic in General Banshee Discussion
Just a freshen up can be done for under $300. If you go with a cheaper piston, you can get away under $200. I would STRONGLY suggest paying a little more for a good piston. CP pistons have some extra webbing built into the design for additional strength. I'm rebuilding the top end of my 04 YFZ450 right now. I still had the stock piston in there - changed it as preventative maintenance so I wouldn't end up paying for a complete rebuild. I'd recommend changing it every 100 - 150 hrs of ride time. CP Piston 12.5:1 - $223.95, head gasket - $35.99, chain tensioner gasket - $1.99 and base gasket - $5.99 - total of $267.92. Of course, I'm adding some port work and cams but that isn't included in the normal top end rebuild so I didn't include it here. All I can say is change your oil religiously and don't wait for the motor to blow because it will cost you another $2K if your motor lets loose. You'd be amazed at what a little preventative maintenance can save you in the long run! All my motor work and parts were done/ordered from DFR DFR Link I'm curious to see what runs better now - my 4mm stroker Banshee with t-5's, adj timing plate, reeds, K&N pods and stock bore, unported cylinders or my YFZ450 with all the basic bolt-on mods, cams and head porting. -
Steel or aluminum ITP rear wheels?

I love my GROOVED turf tamers. I actually have a couple sets of them. You have to groove them though to get them to perform. Grooving doesn't take long. You basically get yourself a nice pair of cutters from the local hardware store and cut off about 30% of the lugs. If you decide to go this route, do a search on exriders for "grooved turf tamers" and you'll find a couple pics of some different patterns that people run. If you're looking for a nice trail tire to run w/o any mods, then I'd recommend Kenda Klaws for ~$45 a tire from RMATV. I've also had very good luck with these and they wear like iron so you won't burn through them like a set of holeshots. Another option are Fast Trekkers.

I'm looking to build a duner for the summer and ice racer for the winter. I already have a YFZ450 for trails and all the other stuff I get into. I'm a little lost when it comes to stroker kits and porting / cylinders for each kit. Things I've heard from different shops are: 1.) If you port for a stock stroke and then decide to upgrade to a stroker, your stock cylinders are worthless because all the porting done for stock stroke will no longer match up. 2.) Cub cylinders are better out of the box than most ported stock cylinders. 3.) You purchase cub cylinder based upon your stock - ie there's a set for stock stroke, 4-mil, 7-mil, 10-mil, etc. 4.) 7-mil is more "dependable" and "reliable" than a 4-mil. 5.) 4-mil requires no case mods, but 7-mil does. 6.) If you purchase cub cylinders for stock stroke, you will need new ones if you go 4-mil, 7-mil, etc. So of my 6 questions, which ones are fact and which ones are myth?
