  1. Congratulations. Are you just now DEP'ing in or what. Which MOS did you choose? Have fun Devil
  2. Well I just traded my 03 banshee for a 05 yfz450 and I must say I like the 450 much better. You can tell the difference between a 17 year old quad and a brand new one. I'm glad I got the 450. It feels pretty fast now I can't wait to do the cam mod and a slip on and a few things. The seat doesn't bother me too much but it is definately hard. My ass isn't sore yet from two days of riding but maybe I'm just a hardass Shocks still feel stiff but you can adjust those as well. Overall it's a VERY good bike.
  3. Well the reasoning behind it is I would like a nice reliable quad with reverse. I'm not sure about the shee yet because I may be selling it soon. I don't want to buy her a new one for two reasons. One, who's to say she's going to like it that much and want to ride a lot. Two I'll probably be buying a yfz450 in the near future. Can anyone elaborate on the blaster any? I know they aren't real big and I was wondering how hard the powerband hits and stuff. My wife has ridden the shee once but that's about it. She liked my old raptor I used to have more I think because she likes to just putt and cruise around sometimes. Thanks guys.
  4. Why? I've heard they're pretty good starting quads. I'd like to buy a Z400 but that's a little too expensive right now. What other quads would you suggest? I can't find any warriors around here either.
  5. I know how it is man. Back when I was young (23 now) I dated some girl in high school and after for awhile. We talked about gettin married and all that shit. We eventually broke up and it hurt pretty bad for a long time. Fast forward to now and I met a GREAT girl. She's into everything I am and she's just cool as shit. We got married (almost 11 months now) and I haven't looked back yet. It might take time but you'll find the right one and you'll know it. Good luck
  6. Haha. I think I'll go just make a low offer and pick it up for the wife. She doesn't need much more than that to start out on anyways. What does anyone elses wife ride in here?
  7. After pulling my head out of my ass I think I'll just go make him an offer and keep the shee for now. Wife doesn't need anything more than that I don't think and I can't find anything else around here. Thanks for helping me realize I'm a dumbass.
  8. I'm going to try to get at least an even trade for my '03 banshee few missing nuts and either toomey t-5s or put the stock ones back on. I'm trading for a 01 300ex for the wife which has worn razrs or something which I'll get new ones on and some nerf bars which I don't know the brand of. He was asking 2800 for it I'm not sure what 300ex's are supposed to go for either. I'll be buying a yfz450 soon so should I trade the shee on the ex or the 450.

    T5's/ROCKETS

I have some T-5's just put them on less than 10 hours on them probably. They are unpainted.
  10. I'm getting roughly $1300 back from taxes and I'm toying around with a few options to buy. First my quad is a '03 with t-5's and that's it. Everything else is completely stock including tires. What would be good mods for the shee to buy to make this thing run good without having to send off for any porting and whatnot. My second choice is a nice RRA or Bushmaster AR-15. They are out of stock right now and sort of hard to find but I REALLY want one of these with all the post AWB goodies. Third choice is to sell banshee, put all that money into a yfz450. I know this is talked about a lot on here but I don't drag in the dunes and likely will never go dune riding. I ride trails, mx, and I like hillclimbing in the woods. Also wifey can ride it (some) I'm trying to justify keeping the shee but it's getting harder and harder. Please be open and be honest You guys rule!
  11. Mine was stock up until about a month ago when I finally got around to buying pipes. I've been toying around with the idea of selling it ever since I joined the military but after riding it piped it fucking rules. I'm actually still on stock tires and wheels as well. That part still sucks though.
  12. Well today where I'm at (Cherry Point) was around 70 past days have been in the sixties or high fifties. Pretty mild winters here. I like it.
  13. All Marines I know of in the avionics field goes to Pensacola, Fl. That is a NAVY base. Granted a few C schools go on to Air Force bases but the basis for everything is Navy. It's not like you guys are of superior intellect and are the only ones capable of teaching further on. btw it's not marines, it's Marines.
  14. I go about 6 or 7 miles out on the Havelock side and turn left. Go over one bridge and it's on the left somewhere. Supposedly they're building a small track out there. There is gravel laid and everything. Maybe we could all meet sometime and go ride.
  15. We all have to have MCI's and things also right? That's not ALL there is to promotion.
  16. Why do you say that the Airforce makes you smarter? The Airforce in my MOS was at the same base as I was (Pensacola). We have gear that goes in birds just like you do. Do you mean to say that we just bubblegum shit together and throw it back in the bird or what? Do tell.
  17. Unfortunately that is still the same. Especially with the 6432 MOS. Most after their five year contract leave as Corporals. A few make it to Sergeant but most are second term Marines. It's always possible to make a lat-move or take on another billet though later on.
  18. I'm in the Marine Corps. My MOS is 6432 which is Aviation Electrician. I've only been in for a little over a year. There is a variety of aircraft to work on but you pick the general MOS and then get stuck where the Marine Corps needs you. There is an "I" level, which I am and an "O" level. "O" level bubbas work outside in all climates on the birds themselves. Us "I" level guys stay in temp controlled "vans" (more like shipping containers) and work on the gear the "O" level guys bring us. If you go into avionics or aircraft mechanic you'll most likely be going to Pensacola, FL. It was pretty nice there until the hurrican came through. I was there when it hit and we all evacuated to Albany Geogia to stay at a logistics base. If I were you I'd choose avionics over the mechanic side. It's a little more advanced and your schooling is longer but a lot of your school will transfer to college credits down the road. You'll learn about that when you hit the fleet though. I work on gear from harriers, prowlers, and C-130s. A few of my buddies I was in school with got to work on the President's fleet HMX-1. Pretty sweet deal. Avionics can take you a LOT of different routes. Anything you choose though good luck. You're going to hate it sometimes and really love it others. Ooh-Rah.
  19. Want to sell the tires maybe? Unmounted. or what do you have?
  20. Hey USMCrider where at in Cherry Point do you work? I'm with MALS-14. Just got here a couple of months ago. Know any good quad places to ride around here? I went out catfish lake road and met some guys but that's about it. No woods riding.
  21. I am sitting right around sea level. I'm at Cherry Point, NC.
  22. I installed my toomey's and put in 280's put the stock needle on the 4th clip. T-5's and snorkel removed are my only mod. It's about 30-40 degrees out here. Should I just buy some bigger jets or not. I really wanna ride BAD.
  23. I tried to search but couldn't find anything in the limited time I had. I bought the toomey kit with the jets. Should I keep the OEM needle in the same position and just use the 280 or so I put in the needle toomey gave me as well. My mods will be t-5s lid off the airbox for now sea level 60-70 degrees outside Thanks Guys a lot.
  24. I've pretty much decided on the Toomey T-5's. What finally got my decision was being able to buy them black and not chromed. Now I'm looking at the Toomey pipe kit on rockymountainatv.com and Kit includes pipes, silencers, jet kit and high flow air filter with air box vents. Jet Kit includes 2-270 and 2-280 jets with 2 needles, 2 C clips and 2 washers. My shee is an '03 and bone stock right now. Will I need those jets or should I keep the stock Air filter and get a K&N down the road and purchase jets seperately? I'm not to educated on banshees yet so I've been lurking and searching like crazy. Any help would be great. I hope to buy them by tomorrow and have them installed this weekend. ps was also looking at the fatties but wasn't sure about them and what all i needed. thx
