  1. Well I did it! Went to my local dealer and did the deed, picked-up a 2004 Blue Banshee. It's everything that I Hoped and Dreamed for - LOL Now I just need to let the wifie in on our new bundle of joy Thanks to all for the advice... Rick
  2. Bignut I'm over here in Hueytown / Bessemer... If you don't mind, where are you purchasing your shee from & how much??? The local dealer has given me a price of $ 5,560.00 O-T-D and that's for a 2004 - new & Blue. I would think, some one has it for a few $$$ cheaper or not?
  3. Hey Banshee How about low end stuff - are there mods to boost low end power?
  4. Wassup I am leaning toward a sport machine, plus I would like to keep-up with my buds. I'm not really into eating their trail dust. Rat Bastards...
  5. I'm finally ready for my New Machine, but need some advice from all of the resident HQ pro's. What would you recommend for my type of riding in Alabama? Typically we will be doing lot's of woods and trail riding - power & Gas lines. The terrain is mainly hard pack, rocky, with some sand. No dunes at all and not a lot of long open stretches - some, but not like desert open. Looking for a machine capalbe of low speed cruzen, trail busten and med. to low maintenance. Is there such a beast? Lastly, my buds are running 660 - Raptors. Thanks Rick
  6. Oh Crap !!!
  7. Account Manager of One - me. I work for DuPont Automotive Finishes painting cars - current assignment, Mercedes-Benz, Alabama - Painting M-Class SUV's. I have spent time in MI, Painting Grand AMs, Ohio Painting Vans, IL Painting Ford cars, Ky painting Corvetts. We manufacture our paints for Mercedes in Mexico and in Germany, so I have to go with my customer back and forth from Mexico & Germany for PPAP Audits - all expense paid road trips. Daily responsibilities - problem solve, paint orders, meetings, kiss ass - I kinda of have to, surf the net, schedule new paint trials, oh yea more meetings. It's a pretty cool job, every so many years Uncle Dupie, will move us to a new state and the famaily and I have to make a new home-stead. Not a bad thing, meeting new people and seeing new places. All paid for too. What sucks, leaving good friends behind...
  8. Ya know the more I look at that picture the more it reminds me of Donald Duck - Just F**ken Ducky! That new look would really give the Craptor Guys something to talk about
  9. Other than being " Fugly "!!! Are then up-grades / mods. Is that all just a face-lift?
  10. Has anyone seen the latest ATV Rider Mag - September? On the cover it shows a new model Banshee - blue. I'm going out today and try to get my copy. You can visit the web site - www.atvrideronline.com
  11. Does any one know what the top speed of these machines are - stock, no mods. And what is there respective Hp's. My buddy's & I are having this debate - The Raptor side of the house seems to think that the Banshee is old school - and that there is no comparison. I think different - Banshee all the way.
  12. Noob, Was the frame sent out solo - no parts attached? If solo they should have been able to fully coat the frame. When painting with powder or " Wet Paint " edges, mainly corners, are very difficult to fully cover, it can be done, but a little skill is required. Now if the frame was built-up, I can see where they would have some issues, but, they should not have sent you your frame back with bare metal showing - not cool.
  13. dEcon The emissions after market up grade issues for 2 strokes / 4 strokes sounds like the same for a car - clean air and noise. The strap-on part was Joke, I thought?!? LOL...
  14. Hey dEcon, Is this red tag law for all states, or just a few select states? I was reading an EPA post and if this reduced EPA law gets passed, two-stroke machine will have to purchase bolt-on's to help reduce emissions. Some four strokes will need a "strap-on" as well. My local dealers really don't have any in-put on this EPA thing - they just want to sell, sell, sell.
  15. That's it - I'm going to stick with my first choice - The Banshee. Now, what color??? Thanks everyone for the in-put
  16. By putting on these modes / silencers, does it take away from the power out-put?
  17. I'm not motor head but I can handle a wrench. And as for the smoken thing, all my buds are running the 660 Yamaha's - they keep saying that the Banshee will not keep up - low end stuff.
  18. Currently I live in - Alabama, but maybe moving to Michigan in the next 6 months. Another thing I have heard - is that if this EPA thing gets passed, all two and four stokers will have to do some emissions mods at a cost to owners from $50 to the sky is the limit.
  19. I'm finally in the market for a new machine - Banshee 04 / 05, but everyone is trying to talk me out of the purchase. I have owned a Warrior and Wolverine - both had zero problems. I have heard all kinds of arguments: Yamaha will stop making the Banshee after '06 due to EPA regulations Some trails are not allowing 2-strokes to run Noise, noise, noise High maintenance cost, fowling of plugs, re-building of carbs, etc... There are better alternatives, like what? Please Help Rick
