  1. Who did the porting and what was it set up for? The shop that ported it should be able to recommend proper jet sizes for your carbs. 165-170 is a good place to start with most mild ports. As for the overheating, I suggest you first correct the jetting and ride it. If it's still overheating, the head may not have been milled perfectly flat. If it was done on a Vertical Mill (Bridgeport) there are at least a half a dozen things that could have gone wrong to produce a leak. If it was cut on a lathe, there are more than a half a dozen things that could have happened! Try re-torqueing the head nuts just to make sure everything is seated properly. If she still gets hot under the collar, let me know and I'll run you through the next steps to figure out what is going on. Gunner Performance Technician Jackson Performance Lab
  2. Vito's 4mm Stroker crank is NOT made by Wiseco, and Wiseco cranks are NOT made by Vito. I would go with the Wiseco H129 stroker crank. Why? Because it's better. It comes from the factory Trued and Welded. It has the +5mm long rods which lessen the rod angle and extend engine life. It's macked by a multi-million dollar, multi national company with a great reputation. Rebuild parts are available through virtually every Cycle dealer in the USA. Depending on your porting specs, you would require either a spacer under the cylinders, or on top. If you'd like to know which to use, PM me or e-mail me at [email protected] and I'll help you figure it out. Oh, and, No, the Wiseco doesn't come with the spacer plate, because Wiseeco gives you a CHOICE. Cheers! Gunner Performance Technician Jackson Performance Laboratory
  3. Once again, another post in the PERFORMANCE SHOP section, with no useful info added to the thread. Yeah, for about $12 to $15 you could buy jets. Oh, and add about $10 each for the needles. Now, instead of dissing me, why don't you offer your HELP to this guy??? In case you forgot, he's looking for the PROPER setup for a pair of Mikuni Round Slide VM28's. Gunner...
  4. Dear superchicken, I suggest you reconsider your statement. The forum you are reading this in is "Questions for Banshee Performance Shops". As such, I offered a solution when noone else has stepped up to the plate. Maybe you'd like to take responsibility for the engine of the thread originator and offer him your wise jetting advice? Remember, if he follows it and it blows up, it's your fault. As I stated, the solution is available. There are members of this forum that do have my solution in their carbs under the brand name of one shop or another. Maybe they will post their knowledge (That they paid for, mind you) to help a fellow Banshee owner out. Then again, maybe they will keep their knowledge to themselves so guys like you don't benefit from it. Gunner Performance Technician with an attitude Jackson Performance Laboratory
  5. Yes, they are WAY off. Do Not run your Banshee with these as you're ri$king $eriou$ damage, catch my drift? $$$ We do have a jet kit available for these carbs - Pilots, Needles and Mains. Cost is $39.95 and it includes tuneing instructions. e-mail me at [email protected] if you'd like to order them. P.S. Please don't ask me to post the sizes online. I make my living from knowing the answers to questions like these and offering the solutions at a fair price. Thanks for understanding! Gunner Performance Technician Jackson Performance Laboratory
  6. At this stage in the game, porting will yield the biggest bang for the buck. Prices range anywhere from $200 for a clean up, $375 for a Dune Port (Recommended for recreational duneing) to $850 for an all out drag port. In conjunction with porting, cutting your stock head, or adding a Noss head is highly recommended. Noss' heads are Sweet! However, if you are on a budget, we could cut your stock head and keep you running pump gas (91 octane). Gunner Performance Tech. Jackson Performance Laboratory
  7. Rest assured, it's not your CDI or coil. Why? The coil fires both plugs at the same time, so your dead cylinder (And your good cylinder for that matter) is getting a spark at BDC and at TDC. (bottom dead center and top dead center) So, if 1 cylinder has spark, both the coil and cdi are still good. That does not rule out a wire problem to the dead cylinder, but if the wire were bad, there would be no spark at all to that side. Sounds like you have something else going on. Possibly you developed a base gasket leak or a leak around the carbs. Backfires can happen. When they do, you usually lose your reeds on that side. Sounds like you need to tear down the top end to try to identify and rectify the cause. At the least, pull the head off and check out the tops of the pistons. Let me know what you find. 8. We also do flywheel lightening. You'll love how quick your engine picks up RPM's when you shave weight off the flywheel. In some cases, you engine will even run smoother! Gunner Performance Tech. Jackson Performance Laboratory
