  1. Recently I went to watch some quad drags... a couple of the banshees I noticed had this sweet smell... i assumed it was race gas or something... hadn't smelt it ever before really. Then my buddy bought a banshee and it made the same smell, thought it was just the way banshees smell. But I bought mine and it doesn't have that smell... could it be the silencer packing or something? We both run pump gas and use the same oil, so it isn't that... Maybe some one knows what i'm talking about...
  2. so bang for the buck... keep the stock cages and change just the reed petals and I will see a nice gain... but not quite as good as with the aftermarket cage/reeds together... but pretty close? I don't mind spending twice as much as long as the performance difference is twice as much? People who have done both... how do each affect jetting (i find this a good measure to see how much more air/fuel it's sucking in, therefore how much better it's doing it's job). Thanks, Ross
  3. these still availible? If so PM me and we'll talk.
  4. So the DG's are good for stock engines? But they don't respond well to mods? where as the PC's are designed for modded engines? I know the PC's are designed for top-end... will I loose low-end and mid range switching from DG's to PC's?
  5. well... I have a noss head on the way as well as pro-circuit silencers (will they match up with the DG's ok you think?) also K&N filter and quite possibly v-force 2 reeds... also timing has been advanced already (not sure how much though) So I won't be fully stock. So the DG's aren't "that" bad then... still a large gain compared to stock and almost as much as "good" pipes?
  6. Next mod I should do is reeds... however i'm getting confused... http://www.motoworldracing.com/carbon_tech_reedsatv.html Why are these reeds so cheap (i've heard carbotech's and boyseens are good reeds) whereas vforces are over $200 :S Will they both offer a large power upgrade... I suspect that v-forces came with their own reed cage and spacer where as the boysens and carbontech's are just the petals. What kind of gains would I see with each and what does everyone here suggest? Also they'll richen up my engine a bit correct... where all, from bottom to top? What reeds are best?
  7. DG National Pipes and Silencers... I know a few of you hate these and they have a bad rep on the forum. How much more power would I gain switching from these to another brand? They're still alot better than stock then? If I switched to pro-circuit pipes would I gain much and where (bottom-end, mid, top) compared to the DG's.
  8. lol... yeah, little off-topic... but it's cool. Thanks for all the opinions guys. So final verdict is to leave my jetting alone... i'm fine as is... can't do any airbox mods either since i'd for sure be too lean then?
  9. lol, alright so that answers my next question... So how much power can I gain by switching pipes... these are aftermarket so they must be better than stock... isn't DG a decent name brand also? Anyone else have an opinion? I read this and it really turned me off them also.. http://www.bansheehq.com/forums/index.php?...topic=26633&hl= I just bought pro-circuit silencers and was planning on keeping the pipes (i like the sound of the pro-circuits and my current DG silencers look like arse at this point). What pipes do you suggest... i'd like to gain through-out the power band with top-end being the most important (but not the only importance). Why are these so bad? Thanks for the help guys... you really know your stuff and I get so many replies on this board.
  10. I think you guys are right... doesn't say anywhere on them... but the silencers look like the newer FMF ones just with no badge. here is a pic of them... would I gain much by upgrading my pipes? I want to change my silencers to pro-circuit for the sound and looks (these look like crap and old too, lol) Thanks for the quick response guys... just wanted to know if there was any possible way they were stock that were chromed or something for jetting purposes.
  11. Here is the right side plug... seems to run richer... is this normal?
  12. Plugs are BR8ES used for about an hour of hard riding... Base ring looks light... could it be because they haven't been used long enough or am I too lean?
  13. Anyone know what brand of pipes these are... I just got the bike and can't find any names on them or anything... it's registered as a 1999 but the frame has j-arms. :S Is there anyway these could be stock pipes?
  14. are they still availible... if so PM me with a price and pics if they're availible. If they're on ebay let me know the item number.
