  1. yea dude there is one in windsor ct mototown usa i think they are starting to run big quads next weekend, they have been running bikes there but quads are running there too call to make sure.
  2. Ive been racing flattrack and tt for a few years and let me tell you u need to get banshees low, wide, and the axle underneath your ass. One thing all banshee owners know is how well a banhsee can burn out, well on the track not good. So first of all yes a lowering kit is a must or shorter shocks, cheap way that works old harley shocks off a dyna glide work great for the front, if u are serious use AFCO they are designed for flattrack and TT. For lowering the rear u can do a couple of things, use the stock rear shock with a longer link for the swingarm or get rid of the whole link altogether by welding a top shock mount on the top of the sub frame so the shock has a slight angle to the swing arm and bolt the bottom of the shock directly to the swingarm without the linkage works amazing trust me. Like i said if u want to get serious find an afco shock for the rear too they are fully adjustable and work great incombination with afco front shocks. Now to get it wider, one cheap way is wheel spacers that are available for the front and rear, but for more stability use wider axle and a-arms trust me great investments along with a swaybar a must!! now to get that axle underneath you, the stock swingarm can be shorten 2 inches safely and if u are confident with a torch and welder u can do this on your own. Just so u know this may seem like alot but if u wanna beat those 450s this is the only way. Oh yea i forgot u might think that banshee is fast now but next to a hooked up 450 you have nothing. If Anyone is truly serious about racing i have two banshees completely set up with the best of everything on them. Don't worry they are't bored out to like a 420 kit or anything my motors are true 350s with porting bigger carbs, cpi exhaust, slightly higher compression 85 hp on C12 but also can be set up to run on alcohol and you get 95 hp. I have won big races with these banshees and all the motors are fresh im in to flattracking motorcycles now and need to get rid off the quads.
  3. yeah the quad turn out kinda sucked. the last time i was there there was 5 of us. If you are in the northeast a sweet track to go to is square deal right outside of bighamton ny. its a big 1/4 mile cushion track, lots of bite and tons of speed.
  4. yo dude short track is getting pretty big in the northeast mainly ny and pa, most of the places are bike/ quad shows in one night and depending where you go sometimes the motorcycles treat you like track dryers and nothing else. unless u go to a track called lembo lake speedway. its in modena ny. 1/4 mile d shape and bikes and quads put on a great show. www.lembolakespeedway.com
  5. Turns out that the atva feels bad for us true short track racers that werent completely happy with just tt at nationals this year so they gave us one short track national on saturday august 6th, gates open at 11, practice at 2. It is in Sikeston, Missouri. go to atva website for more info. Whos coming with me?
  6. monday im running a 5/8 mile track and im not sure what to run for gearing. I have 80hp at the wheels with 15/41 sprockets right now. I bought a 17 tooth for the front and I am not sure what to do for the back sprocket. I was racing yesterday and someone told to run a smaller sprocket hub and 36 on the back. I need input from all half mile guys out there.
  7. i race flat track running tt this year too.
  8. ya those quicksand a-arms are nice and i like the price, but they dont say anything about adjustable camber, thats what i need for flat track, thanks for your help guys.
  9. i know wider is better for flat track i already have a widen axle. i get around the track pretty fast with the stock a-arms. Will aftermarket a-arms really help me get around turns even faster? if so which is the best brand/style to go with, without it being too expensive?
  10. the swingarm has a link in it where the bottom of the shock bolts to, take out that link and bolt the shock directly to the swingarm. then fab up a bracket to weld on the to top frame rails.
  11. just take out the link in the bottom and bolt the shock to the swingarm directly then weld a top bracket for the shock on the top two rails of the frame so that the shock is laid down alittle more im tellin i believe it was proquad101 that had the picks on this forum before in the spring thats where i got the idea and it works like crazy. my banshee never hooked up like this before even after motor work. Put it this way after i did this on my banshee, first holeshot the thing threw right on my back.
  12. dude talk to proquad101 about rear shock setup, my uncle relocated the top shock mount early this season like proquad101 showed us in the forum, now my banshee hooks up so well coming out of the corners it wants to wheelie. that mod is a must if u wanna win.
