Bump. II have the same question and nobody is really talking. I get my jugs back today and new weisco's. How the hell do you break this beeatch in? I need a few people to answer before I do anything.

So my pistons are worn out, the engine seized because they cocked sideways in the cylinder and my friend had to beat on them to get em loose, so that probably worn them even more. No big deal, Im getting it bored out and putting in weisco pro lites. What kind of boost (power wise) can I look forward to (besides a running Shee, CUZ THAT BEEATCH AINT RUNNIN' NOW!) with the new pistons, bored, and re-jetted? Also getting the frame powder coated red and getting full bore plastics. Ahhhh, sweetness.

The choke knob thingy actually does leak abit of fuel, though a very small amount.

Oh yeah, oil leaks out the back of the pipes a bit, I use 100% syth. motul 50:1. High octane gas (I think 91, not sure.) Anything else you need to know to help me?

OK, I bought my shee used (2001) and it has been running fine. Then one day (last weekend) I go out to start the shee and it wont start. Ok, no big deal, next day I go take a look and I left the air intake covered with platic wrap (I was cleaning and forgot to remove it) Ok, stupid me! I remove the plastic, and the thing still wont start. Ok, needs new plugs then. Put in new plugs and shee starts up. She backfires constantly, and loud too. Ok, no big deal, just need to ride her a bit to clean her out. I go ride for about 30 minutes and come back to shut her off. All right, heres the trouble. I go to start her back up and the engine siezes up! I didnt leave the feul on either. So I get the engine unstuck. She runs ok, but now when I pull in the clutch or put it in neutral, the engine revvs up like a bitch. The plugs foul like mad. Theres a loss of power. WTF! I read the peice about jetting and I dont understand it, but I think the jetting may be off. Heres a list of mods if it will help. Mikuni carbs fmf fatty gold series pipes pro design intake v force reeds boost bottle ....I also have shock covers.....could that be the culprit? j/k Please, if you can help, please do. Thank you.

Im looking for some good street tread tires for my banshee, to race on asphalt. Im using Douglas rims. Also, do I have to change gearing? Its just something I heard you have to do. Thanks.

I started my shee up and let her idle for about 5 minutes as usual, and when I felt my pipes to see if they were warm enough, the left side was a lot hotter than the right side. And theres more confusion, because I dont think it's the actual exhaust pipe, but the part that comes RIGHT off the engine. I think its the manifold or header, thats what someone told me. So thats what I'm talking about, the left header (or whatever) is too hot to keep my hand on for more than 1 second, and the right side I can touch for about 3 seconds. I run FMF gold series pipes. I dont know if this is even a problem, just thought it was odd. What do you think? PS- DAMN I SOUND LIKE SUCH A N00B IDIOT!

I think there is a misunderstanding, I know what the power band is, and I feel it all the time, I was asking how do you stay in it, and some one replied with "shift while in the higher rpm's" so thanks for that. As for overheating, I dont think shee has been, the bike feels crisp through my whole ride. I bought her used (2001) and the only problem I ever had was when I ran low on feul. Just switched to reserve and headed back for more gas, no problem. Thanks for the help guys. Oh yeah, one more thing, does anyone make a speed-o-meter? I'd like to know how fast I'm going before I hit a tree or something. Thanks.

I'm pretty new compared to you guys, and I dont really post unless I have a question because I dont know enough to try to act like a pro. (Unlike that DirtRider guy...WTF?) Anyway, I was reading some posts and I have a few questions. 1-How do you know if the Shee is overheating? 2-How do you keep the Shee in the powerband? How do you know if your NOT in the power band? Sorry if I ask n00b questions, the best way to learn is to ask. Thanks.

I NEVER carry cash or coins, only use my debit card. I keep my wallet in the front left, keys and smokes in the front right. I sit down to pee, and I have to look at the TP after I wipe my ass to make sure I got it all, and if its too messy, I take a shower to clean my ass. I always tap and drum, prolly cuz I play the drums. I always speed in my car. When I turn off the lights, I check the switch a couple of times to make sure its off. I ALWAYS smoke on my way to work. I REFUSE to carry a pen or pencil with me, ever. I bite my nails compulsively, and when they're too small to bite, I bite the skin around my thumb. I do all sorts of crazy shit, glad Im not the only one. I really hate the shitty ass thing though, I can not STAND to have any shit, no matter how small, on my ass.
