  1. yea so uh...found the problem. my stock jets say 200 believe that? i put in 240s!! u guys think 210 then?
  2. sounds to me like a combination of problems. Sounds like the side that isnt idling all the time has some problem with its reed or something....because when it fires it runs on. Im sure its filling up with gas when its not firing too. I think you should lok into some kind of hot ignition setup and check you're plugs/wires.
  3. for whatever reason, i bought a set of 240's at the shop and surprise...its choking to death. So im gonna get some 230's today. Is there a way to tell what size u have by looking at the jet?
  4. thanks for all the great replys. If i were to go with the realtors exactly what size would u reccomend to to with my stock wheels? Front reccomendations?
  5. They are having a jamboree by me and its gonna involve some pretty difficult woods riding. Mainly a 4x4 event. But ya see i dont have a 4x4. Im sure I can do fine, but what about the possibility of installing a winch? Has anyone done this before? Will my stock stator die? Does anyone make a bumper for me? Could i convert one from another model?
  6. why doesnt someone make a definitive list of pipes for the banshee and what they do. It seems wherever you look theres more bs info on why whatever pipe ur looking at is the most innovative amazing invention since the lightbulb. Please help me. I have a 04 banshee. All stock motor 'cept for a pro design pro flow filter. I eventually want to do all of this to it. http://www.angelfire.com/extreme2/yambansh...s/pipeinfo.html I ride in the woods a little....mostly fire roads....and it will spend winters on a huge frozen lake. So I do want something that keeps the top end zip....but some low end will be necessary, because trails are fun and local. The consensus here i think is PT mid. What about the dmc 916? Those are my prime suspects.
  7. Thanks for the great response. Yes thats what i wanted, a baseline so i could get the ballpark...buy a few jets and see what works. Main problem is I dont know where to get jets. So lets start with this: sea level. 70-80 degrees. Stock 04 banshee with pro design air filter adapter and cone. no lid. Whaddaya think i need? Im guessing the stealership is the only way to go to get jets. Which im sure when i ask for em theyll look at me blankly and say they dont stock them.
  8. I have an otherwise stock banshee and just got a pro design air filter adapter and cone filter. I am going to run with the airbox cover off. What jets should i get and where should i get them? Whats the deal with those jet kits? What do they contain? An assortment of jets? Worth getting?
  9. Yea im not gonna go nuts on bars. i see that i like the tag x5. i was looking for brand.model/bend ideas. I definitley wanna get a lower position thats not so up and back like the stocks.
  10. Whats my best bet to repair this. The mount is broken, though the resevoir and lever are fine. I cant weld it so i need to replace. I guess the best bet is to ebay a new assembly. Do any aftermarket companies make the resevoir/master cylender? Or is this a yamaha only kinda thing? Also, I bent my bar pretty bad. What kinda bar reccomendations do you all have? I saw a tag t2 setup for $200 with mounts...doesnt sound too worth it to me. I saw bars for around $60 that will fit stock mounts. Reccomendations on brand/size?
  11. so how does one install these things?
  12. i will. defeinitley eyeing the dmc 2 into 1 setup. For now tho i absolutley have noooo money. Im just thinkin i could improve the sound of this thing because its freakin quiet as hell.
  13. Yes I saw that mod somewhere on the net. Sounds a lil ghetto to me.
  14. I have stock pipes and silencers and am looking for free mods. Would cutting my silencers shorter and re attaching the ends help power at all? Improve sound id imagine. Why not right?
  15. I am going to be receiving a flange and k&n filter shortly. To run this with not airbox lit and an otherwise stock bike, im thinking all i need to change is the mains. What jet size will I be near? I guess i buy one of those jet kits but they never say what jets they actually include. Where should i buy from? BTW Im running at sea level at around 40-60 degrees for now
  16. Form what ive heard the DMC 2 into 1 pipe is the way to go for low end grunt. Going uphill the worst thing that can happen if you bog....and low end is whats gonna prevent that.
  17. Thank you very much. Thats exactly what i wanted to hear!
  18. ok tors limits throttle just like when you run it when the parking brake is on. Eliminating it will bring some weight savings, along wiht clutter removal. Apparently its easier to change jets on the carb. But you have to buy an eliminator kit...as wall as i think new throttle and clutch levers. Some help on my other questions please?
  19. Whats the difference between a silencer and a spark arrester. The pro circuit exhaust sells them piece by piece. Do I need both? Im not interested in arresting sparks. In fact if im shooting flames id be pretty happy.
  20. Ok, i put the airbox cover back on and just pulled off the snorkel this time. After that and a little turn of each of the screws atop the carbs....thing runs liek a top again.
  21. Didnt rejet. Didnt touch anything, I just bought this thing last week...first quad. lol. I found a nice page here http://www.thebansheezone.com/Bansheezone/AirIntake.htm seems to tell me what i need to know. Im gonan try adjusting the screw today and if that doesnt work, then according to this website, i need to go up a size in my main jet.
  22. I am actually having the same problem. I just took the airbox cover off and i get some bog wide open on the top end. I dont think this was enough to re-jet...im guessing i just need to adjust something.......how? Im guessin i need some kinda syncronizer like they use on motorcycles.
