  1. the noise is coming from the LH side and i'm not running high octane.just higher compression,there is movement in the flywheel ,but not sure if its excessive ??
  2. i,ve just discovered the same noise, but on the left side, my fly wheel crank bearing seems to be worn out, not sure on the limits of free play there. also removed the plugs and turned flywheel by hand and got a tock tock sound coming out plug hole (LH) .so i put a plastic tube down onto the piston and turned it over TDC ,it went quieter with the pressure on piston,could some one help me with some sort of answer to this ,as i've just put new pistons and rings in 6mths ago and dont ride it much,dont want it to go on me again adjustable timing plate,shaved head, rest standard ??? burnt hole in left piston last time,replaced seal then, replaced bearing 12 mths ago ??
  3. sorry guys i'm talking about the exhaust port were the exhaust fits the cylinder
  4. the heads are standard , i,m not sure when you say JB weld ??? please explain
  5. yes have tried new o rings , went up to the next size in cross section,still had oil leaking outta the exhausts
  6. is there any way i can repair the worn area where the o- rings sit. i'm getting lots of leakage from around this area ?
  7. i'm just replacing the one piston , this will be ok yer ?with a little hone,not much damage to cylinder
  8. how long can you keep pre -mixed fuel before it becomes non useable ?
  9. my apologys to those that thought i was a bit agressive in my behavior,i had a pisser of a day and am now over it, i am replacing the crank seal ,maybe it was due to extreme advance on my timing (new timing plate ,stator,from ricky!!! yer go ricky)did not change jetting from standard.also got stock pipes ( not letting heat escape maybe ?)also the top of my LH carby i've being having trouble with.(getting TORS removal kit) not sure if i should go single carby ? also the exhaust ports are worn around the o-ring seating area,so i need to fix that also!. i'd like to thank you guys for your input and ideas from what i read. it seems to have been a combination of things.lean fuel maybe, detonation due to the damage done to the top off piston (advanced timing ?) cold seizure maybe due to exhaust leaks ? any way putting it back to gether as best i can and hope it runs again
  10. hey guys where the exhaust o- rings seat on the exhaust ports the area is worn and my o-rings are not sealing.are there any quick fixes for this problem. i thought speedy sleeve, but not sure if it will do the job considering the heat and the diffrence in materials ?? could i putty it up ??
  11. after now getting the top off (rebelbanshee2 ) we can see better, any clues? have a shaved head and advance timing plate,thought it might be detonation seizure before because i'm running standard pipes and it might have got hot ? but why only one side ??changed main bearings 6mnths ago, thought seal would last longer !stator side.left hand carbie top still tight ! now cannot up load pic like the last one because it cannot up load this type of file ERROR<ERROR WAS FOUND
  12. thanks rebelbanshee2 i was about to go on a two day trip when i decided to change the O rings on the exhaust because of a little leak ,just happen to look up the port and f*ck me,look at that !.on my back with torch and camera trying to get pic so i can get some sort of help and all i get is bullshit answers like yours

  15. havent stripped it right out at the moment ,trying to find a puller for the wheel,also doing some repairs on my z400 also ,cracks in the swing arm expensive toys,but its worth the ride thanks guys for all your help
  16. ok, i've got 110 w/r > w/g, but have nothing at all g > r sounds to me it may be stuffed (short circuit) in the windings ???. looking for some confirmation on this

  18. hey guys ,rode my bike on the weekend and it DIED instantly, have cheaked all wiring , found continuity(unlimited) red/white > green/white ,but none from red to green (zilch) .do i have a stuffed charging coil
  19. how longcan you keep your pre mixed fuel in a jerry can before it goes off ?
  20. hey guys ,i,ve had the clutch apart once since mods to measure plates and fibre's and all measure good.springs alittle light on ,but still with in limits,can i put heavier springs in or go the full clutch kit ???

  22. i seem to get sore lower back after riding for short periods i'm not sure if this is my riding style or maybe my bikes not set up for my hight or something,i'm 5'11" average build,also fairly fit ?? could do with some help on bike comfort or riding tips ....
  23. never missed it . cleaned up the old lever body as well, would'nt even know it had one
  24. have shaved the head on my shee, now i'm getting clutch slippage, is this indicating worn clutch or need of adjustment??also maybe the fluid , not sure . love to feel the fullness without the slippage though !
  25. since i've shaved the head on my Shee ,i've been getting oil leaking from the exhaust ports, the rest of the bike is standard, do i need to change my jetting ??
