  4. Anyone else go to the sand show this weekend? It was alright. I expected it to be a bit bigger than it was. I took a few pics. Ill try and post a couple. There were some nice looking banshees there, as well as some kick ass sand rails.
  5. yea there were some fast bikes out there. I was at the hill sat. with some friends from Super Finishers 2 racing. they were out to race some bike from D&M. I left before they raced. Supposedly they were gonna race thier fastest bike against D&M's fastest....wonder who won
  6. who all went to glamis this weekend? I did and let me tell ya. it sure is changing out there. I kind of like the changes. no trucks or carts at the hills at night. only bikes and rails. sure was ALOT less congested. felt like I could run the hill and not have to worry about getting creamed by some drunk ass in a truck. if you were there...how was your trip?

  8. sounds like you are running lean...bump yourself up about three jet sizes. if its fat back off one size and check it...but it sounds like you are lean to me. maybe running out of gas at wide open throttle.
  9. my gold retainers are gone off of my bike also...but but caps stay tight...how tight do you make them? hand tight? if so make em tighter than that..not too tight as they may strip but snug em down with some channel locks or something.
  10. heh..if you want to go on long dune rides with a ported and polished motor better invest in a desert tank lol. I ported and polished mine and she is a gas guzzler....but damn that feeling when you crack it WOT...nothin like it.
  11. wow...everyone ive seen post main jet size on here have always been running under a 300...crazy. Ive got a race port and polish on my bike w/ a few other engine mods and im running a 360 main. anything under that and damn my bike is popping from how lean she is. runs outta gas at WOT
  12. what mixture are you running? 32:1? 20:1? sounds like you may be running fat...too much fuel not enough air...what are your main jets ? modified bike?
  13. first things first, check for spark the old fashioned way. take the plug out of your motor and either hold it and ground yourself or ground the spark plug against some metal or your frame. have a friend kick the bike over for you while you watch/ or feel for spark. if you have no spark read on...if you have spark save your eyes the pain....... check the coil..to test it take the wires going to it and take off the spark plug boots from the plugs and get an ohm meter and make sure to set it to read R X 1 check the resistance between the two main wire terminals(where the black and orange wires were) resistance should be anywhere between 0.28-0.38 ohms if its any higher or lower you may have a bad ignition coil solving your spark problem. another thing to check arethe secondary hookups. set th meter to read R X 1000 and measure the resistance between the plug wire and the terminal that goes with that plug wire. if the meter reads an open circuit take the plug cap off and check it again. if you have continuity then the trouble was in the plug cap. but if it still reads open circuit then you might have a problem with your plug wires.
  14. in my opinion just polishing the ports will not gain you any noticeable power. if you look at your stock intake ports they are very restrictive...only way to get more performance is to get more fuel in there and to do that you have to port. I would just port it if i were you. if you have an air dremel and a hoan you are all set.
  15. you could just relocate it to the front of the bike under the nose plastics...ive seen this done on alot of bikes. it supposedly eliminates the overflow of coolant onto your pipes. dunno...just seen alot of guys doin it and seen a how to somewhere but i dont remember where. Lotta help huh? lol
  16. u also could lighten the flywheel...when heavilly modding your engine you dont want to put too much stress on the crank, lightening the flywheel will let your shee spool up alot faster as well as taking some stress off of the crank. also the more modding you do to the motor you may want to think about having your crank welded.
  17. 96 shee....you can shave your stock head down and reshape your domes....alot cheaper and I could give you the name of a great performance shop that does this. also they make total seal rings...supposed to bump the compression up like 20psi
  18. whatever you do DONT POWDERCOAT your stock a-arms. the heat warps the hell outta em.
  19. I have t-5's on my bike with some mild portwork and im turnin out 68hp to the wheels. My buddy has got a 10mm stroker with the cpi's and hes turnin out 72 on the dyno.....you need to look at the dyno charts like the other guy said before you run out and buy pipes. not only are they a ton of cash but you want the right pipe for the right application. fmf fattys and toomeys are awesome pipes for duning. but if you do desert riding or trail riding you may want a pipe with a bit less of a powerband. just my .02
  20. Ive got white brothers dual rate shocks front and rear....they make all the difference in the world. I also have +2+1 a-arms and a 4" extended axle. Such an improvement over stock. just seems alot more stable when jumping.
