  1. Get rid of that stock filter setup no matter what. I learned the hard way. That foam broke away from the cage and I sucked sand at PISMO. I bought the prodesign with the foam UNI filter. Best investment to date. I even bought one for my wifes Z400 too!
  2. Going to venture into my first top end job. Want to know what everyone thinks about a kit from Vitos Racing. Also whats the difference between a forged and Cast piston? One more question..... Why would Vitos Superstock kit add 8 more ponies. IS the top of the cylinder different from stock or what? Does anyone know of a better place to get them. Vitos is 219.00 for superstock and 149.00 for pwer pistons that add 6ponies
  3. Ive got t4s and I called toomey they recommended the 280 mains and needle clip on the 4th groove. They sell a kit called the perfect jet kit for those pipes. thats what i ordered. they'll send you a filter and airbox vents aswell as the jets and needles.
  4. trying to fid out whats the best set up. Dont ever want to worry about sucking sand
  5. Hey Im a banshee man what about the Z400 though
  6. Used to ride dirtbikes when I was a teen. Bought a z400 brand new. It rocked love that bike still have it. Met a dude at the river where i ride. He wanted to test out the z 400 and He said check my banshee out. I took off testing the gears and what have you. Opend that baby up and was holding on for life. Hit this little hill and was airborne for 30 feet I bet. That was it I fell in love bought one a couple days later. My old lady rides the Z , but needs a fix everyonce in a while. Were looking for myself another banshee. She want my old one.
  7. Im a cheapo I run the Sand devils and I like them. Straight liners thats for sure. Tried to do a rooster at the top of a hill instead popped it up going straight down. My wife has sandsharks there a little more forgiving in slides and roosters. Paid under 150 for each set. The devils were like 130 on douglas .160
  8. Im gonna pull it apart. Heads anyways and see if theres any signs of sand in there. Wanting to know what would be the best way to clean the case. Flushing it with something, solvent, air, etc. Also this will be my first venture working on a bike. Have some mechanical knowledge. Can anyone steer me to a site that has the procedure of taking off the head and etc. My buddy says its cake but I like to have my ducks in order so to speak.
  9. Went riding at pismo on Wednesday and sucked sand. Didnt notice it until friday when I was out playing and had a loss of power. shut her down and came to conclusion that right side aint hitting at all. I checked stock filter and foam around the seal was broken away and sand was in there. Pretty devasted Where should I start. I'll be doing most of the work myself the stuff I can any way
  10. I used it since new no problems. I like that it doesnt smoke like hell win you first start it cold. smells gooooood too.
  11. whats the story on pacing in the toomey pipes. are they absolutely necessary. I had one in there and pulled it out, will it hurt
  12. I installed some toomey t4s and a "perfect jet kit" from toomey. I vented the airbox with the provided vents they sent me. The main jet is a 290 pilot jet the standard 25 and the needles on the 4th groove. It runs real good. Doesnt seem to be lean or to rich for that matter. Any suggestion to point me in the right direction. Looked for air leaks, adjusted air screws and synched carbs to the best of my ability. its a 03. whats the sign of an impellar going out. Overheated one time been watching and worrying
