  1. what is the easyest way to get the crankcase open. i have the engine out of the bike, and i took all of the bolts out and the one on the end of the generator, but i dont know where to go from here. am i just supposed to pry it open or is there a trick? thanks
  2. does anyone know of a web site that has banshee blueprints? i know ive seen one but it got erased off of my favorites and i cant find it again. it showed the whole layout of every part....thanks
  3. thanks for the info you guys probably saved me a bunch of work and $$$$$, i think ill go with some weisco pistons. unless there is a better more durable brand?
  4. have any of you tried or heard anything about namura pistons? the guy on ebay says they are power pistons and will increase performance over a stock or Wiseco piston. the picture looks like they have a bunch of holes milled out of the side to reduce the weight or heat retention or something. any body know why they are considered "power" pistons?
  5. no there is no premix fuel you can buy. just use 91 octane pump gas and mix it 32:1 with yamalube premix oil.
  6. does anyone know of a shop that bores cylinders in san diego? and what is the price..
  7. does anyone have a steering stem they want to sell or maybe trade for a rebuildable crank?
  8. how much does a stock banshee head cost, i dont know why but i cant find a web site that tells me.....thanks
  9. i blew out my right side crankshaft bearing, and i was wondering if i am going to need a whole new crankshaft or just a new bearing. somebody was telling me that if the bearing blows then it bends the crank so is that shot too? is there a way to tell if i will need a new one through the top end without taking apart the bottom?
  10. i was wondering if boaring is needed when ever something happens in the cylinders. i blew one of my crankshaft bearings and it shot metal in the cylinders. when i took it all apart i know im going to need new pistons and a new head but the cylinders didnt get that tore up. the biggest scratch is about an inch long and has to be less than a millemeter deep. do you think it would be ok if i just got new pistions and left the cylinders as is? ohh yea i was wondering too how i can tell what size pistons are on it now, there was a number on the top of the pistion but i didnt know what it meant....(513mb6400)
  11. it wasnt the crank that broke, thats fine. it was the bearing between the rod and the crank.
  12. My shee died on me so i took apart the top end and found out that one of my crankshaft bearings exploded and shot metal in the case. there were also metal chips on the top of the piston and in the exhaust pipes. i was wondering how this is possible because the rings were still on the pistion and i thought stuff from below couldnt go ubove and vise versa. also i dont see any visible damage to the cylinders so do you think i should still have them bored since ive never done it before or just get new pistons? thanks for all your help....
