  1. check the petcock for a clog. my shee was apart for a month or two and after rebuild it would not fire then i put it on reserve nothing I checked the petcock and sure enough it was all gunked up. I cleaned it changed plugs and it fired on the first kick.
  2. I live in Massachusetts. I ride at the hopkington everett reservoir usually but sometime goe to freemont. There is not much legal riding here so I still do the covert ops in Wilmington, MA at a local sand pit. Just watch out for john law thats all. I'm 31 years old and can't afford to be caught again on the streets/ ril road tracks etc.
  3. I currently ru no lid on the airbox. I was wondering if leaving the lid on w/ 12 vents in it and cutting off the back three inches of the lid will affect jetting. something tells me no. I think this will add a small amount of protection as i am paranoid about sucking in water from a two foot deep mud hole i might need to go through to keep up w/ my buddies on there two wheelers?? how about that outerwear cover for the air bow?? is it water repellant??? call me paranoid but I'm jetted for no lid and the shee pulls like a freight train and i don't want to jet down and put the lid back on entirely because i feel like i lose 1000 rpm's and 5 horsepower at least. the plus side is more bottom end grunt w/ the lid on. any suggestions???????????

  5. My shee dies when i get one of the conections from the cdi wet i have limited this to one set of wires. I had siliconed them and it made it worse. I wrapped them all in baloons and zip tied the end tight to seal them but they weather and fall apart after a couple of months, and it looks ghetto. I always could get a new harness from my dealer but there must be a tricker looking more functional trend out there???? help as i just got the bitch running again and it is very wet up in new hampshire where i abuse........i mean ride it. thanks
  6. Go with the Tdr carbon reeds w/ ported cages. $80.00 Can't beat it.
  7. Hi, I live in Massachusetts, and need to know if anyone here has had a good experience w a machine shop that does re-sleeving of cylinders. I took mine to the dealer and he told me that I would have to go all the way from .040 to .080. I don't think he has any clue what he is talking about. He looked at them, had a 15 year old kid mic them. and used words like probably, maybe, might have to...... I would like to get them re measured by a shop that can tell me honestly if it can go to .060 or not. If it has to go bigger i will have them re-sleeved. any help would be greatly appreciated. My only other thought is to send back to TDR to have done but this involves shipping and I would like to try to do this locally. Thanks, Jimmy K.
  8. I melted the top of the right side piston. I am going to check to see of the bore is still o.k. It looks o.k. If not and I bore it can I bore one sied .060 over and leave the otyher side alone or will it f up my bike. The top end has 10 hours on it
  9. un splice the wires.. Good to go after that.
  10. of get a used 89-04 hub???? not too expensive and greater availability of sprockets!!
  11. hi, .040 over vito's Super stocks 4 degree key hemi head w/ 22 cc domes TDR carbon reeds w/ cage mod Stock carbs (jetted) K&N filter w/ outerwear NO AIR BOX LID Toomey T-5's (jet hot coated) Hush kit I called Vito's and got a jet kit for use w/ no air box lid came w/ 300 mains melted the right side piston on the exhaust side. the last time the bitch blew it was the same side, same look What is the best way to check for an air leak?? 300's too small????
  12. My bike did the same thing. I removed the lid and it almost threw me off the back the first time i wacked it. I never got the jetting tuned perfectly and it melted a piston. lol
  13. I need some advice on jetting. Last year I melted a top end with this combo: Stock cylinders .040 forged Vito's super stock pistons Vito's 4 degree timing key Vito's hemi head w/ 22 cc. domes TDR reed cage mod w/ carbon fiber reeds Toomey T-5's (jet hot sterling coated) Pro-Design Adapter w/ K&N w/ outer wear Stock carbs w/: 27.5 or 30 piots?? I forget:) Vito's red needles on the fourth groove from the blunt end 330 mains w/ a bog on top......Was instructed to go to 300 mains and melted I think the bog was a rich bog but should I try 350's just for security??? I'm ready to go back to the wiseco's w/ the airbox lid on w/ (12) 1" vents and 280's it ripped down low but w/o the lid it pulls 1000-1500 rpm higher.????? Help I just put my firecat away and need to ride w/o blowing up
  14. Send your cages to TDR and have them cut and the carbon fiber reeds installed.....80.00 timing key......25.00 + install or 200+ for just the v force??? I wanted the v-force too, but i have the TDR reeds and cage mod it rips w/ the 4 degree key. ran great until I melted a plug and piston.......too lean!! Your call, ask aroud about the tdr mod and reeds you will get good feedback.
  15. My motor was rebuilt and put back in my bike w/ the same carb/exhaust set up as before the rebuild. It was running too rich w/ the lid on the air box, too lean w/o it. It revved much more freely w/o it. So I got info from you guys and was told to go to 320 - 360 mains. I went to 330's still too lean in the midrange. I called Vito's because my motor has alot of their parts in it. The guy told me that the needle was too lean and sold me a jet kit w/ new needles, and pilots, and mains 290 - 300's they claim this will flow plenty of fuel for a non ported motor. I put the 300's in and the needle on the 3rd groove. O.K. Then I moved the needle to the 4th groove,.... better. It felt rich in the 3/4 to w/o throttle and I was going to lean it out to the 290 but I didn'nt. Fifth gear it pulled harder at 1/2 to 3/4 than it did at w/o. sixth mostly bog.....sound rich right???????????? While motoring in fifth I felt a sudden power drop off, pulled over and the bike quit. Pulled the plugs.................... the right side had 1/2 an electrode, and 1/2 a ceramic but no metal on the plug associated w/ a melt down. the left one just looked too lean..grey. Needless to say I'm fucking pissed. Now I have to tear down a motor I paid alot of money for and do myself what I paid "profressionals" to do already. When done I will DEFINATELY need jetting help!
  16. I have had my shee for 6 years, two of which it has been completely disassembled. I have gone through two top ends, and I'm on my third set of tires, but my toomey clutch which was in the bike when I bought it, (2 months old) is still cooking. Still not slipping.
