  1. Yeah me too i wanted 22's but i said i'll try them and get a set of 22's also this way im not doing tire swaps on whichever quad i want to hammer that day...lol 22's are so much nicer if the trails are rocky. my buddy swears by the 18" tires i think he bumped his head. i had a set of 18" holeshots and 5 gear wheelies on the rr tracks the skid plate would scoop rocks like a shovel . but they did leave nice posi slabs on the train platforms from just throttle in 3rd gear lol and smoking drifts in 5th gear at a parking lot I used to go through. I was going off of a lawn in an industrial area business park tonight and ripped 2nd , 3rd, 4th, and looked back and oooops call the landscaper im an idiot. chinks of grass and 2 strips for 80 yards. and that grass is tough. ive been ripping on it for over 20 years and have never torn it up before. so they dig pretty good. i was gonna try the kenda 21's kutters i think any thoughts??
  2. I Love it and have never seen another like it http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/805/bansheehood.jpg/
  3. I have a blue ims tank for sale took it off the banshee today. just tank. no petcock as you can use the stock one. make me an offer$$
  4. hey guys my banshee is puking coolant at times. i might be a tad lean and i am running br8es plugs i think they are also too hot as the color is even brown from tip to threads so i may try br9es plugs and have the radiator cap checked for pressure tolerances anyone know how many psi should it be 7 or 14?? i know it is prob printed right on the cap but im not near it rt now??
  5. Well i bought a set of artrax mx tires 20 x 11 x 9 for my banshee. I ran them yesterday on my 04' yfz 450 le yesterday and they are pretty good. When I got back to house they still had the " tits" on them. so im happy. They hook up pretty good in the wet sand track we ride on. They flat out pull great on hard pack etc. Today i went out and beat them up on the banshee. They throw some serious roost. 3rd gear launch in wet sand it held the front tires 18 inches in the air until i shifted into 4th. 2nd gear start on hardpack almost flipped over lol. man the banshee is alot of fun now. CHEAP TOO 47.00 EACH AND FREE SHIPPING
  6. well, how do i post a pic in a thread??
  7. i thought i covered every parameter. ooooops, duh, pipes .....! toomey t-5's and the domes are 21 cc . not 19cc

  9. Hey guys. just got my quad back up and driving. bought an 04' yfz in 2004 and left my freshly redone banshee with a blown clutch until today. WOW!! I Miss This. NOW, I think I'm lean on top?? Tell me what you think. Mods: stock stroke .020 over wiseco pro-lites Vito's Hemi Head w/ 19cc domes 158 psi mild porting 4 degree timing advance Stock air box w/ NO LID Carbon fiber reeds with t.d.r. ported cages 50 / 50 with 110 / 93 at 40:1 with Klotz Benol stock carbs w/ pro-design / K&N toomey needles on 3rd .5 clip and 300 mains 880 feet elevation Are the manin jets too small??
  10. o.k. i get the whole detonation thing but am i gonna actually hear it over the pipes etc. it is easy to hear in a nice quiet car but figured i'd never hear it on the banshee??. so 93 octane should be good? but i'm gonna do 50/50 for the first tank back out. and adjust from there. the 110 does smell excellent though, i have a semi just thinking about it:)
  11. Hey guys. here is my mods and set-up. tell me if you think i need race fuel or not? and if jetted lean?? .020 over bore stock cylinder wiseco pro-lites stock stroke stock carbs w/ toomey needles and 300 mains ( forget piots?) vitos head w/ 19 cc domes mild port in reed cage area and red cages cut and flowed by t.d.r. 4 degree tiing key advance 155 psi compression each side runs strong on 50/50 cam II and 93 pro-design w/ k&n and outerwear No lidon stock airbox.

  13. Hey guys. I have yo start by admitting to buying an 04' yfz back in 04' and have pretty much shelfed the shee. I had some clutch issues and noticed some play in the stock basket and am looking to get a new basket. any positive or negative reviews about the magnum billet basket from F.A.S.T. bike is .020 over w/ pro-lites. vitos head w/ 19cc domes ported, and cut reed cages by t.d.r w/ carbon fiber reeds. toomey t-5's 4 degree tiiming key. k&n w/ outer wear, 300 mains with lid off. bike absolutely rips
  14. my shee has a four bolt hub. It is an 88'. Is this the same size as the yfz?? I'll have to look when I get home and measure my yfz against the shee?? anyone know to save the trouble??
  15. Hey, My buddies banshee started pissing oil out the crankcase vent tube when the bike is warmed up and normal temp.. The oil level is normal. Could it be a crank seal????? what could cause this????
  16. 1(800)-321-6354 Tony Doukas Racing "TDR" Let me tell you 100.00 includes the reeds and it works well. I paid 80.00 4 years ago and the bike is nothing short of menacing. It is a stock stroke .060 over on wisecos with 19 cc. hemi head and t-5's w/ hush kit. 4 degree timing advance and pro flow w/ k&N. The bike is a ripper leaves posi rubber on pavement w/out slipping the clutch in second and third. also will wheelie over backwards on throttle alone in fourth on pavement. I have a yfz 450 too but nothing rides like my shee. Braaaaaaaap..........braaap...braap. braaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaap!!!!!!!!!!!!
  17. Recreation unlimited is in dirt wheels mag and they have Wiseco top end kits for 139.00 with needle bearings. This is by far the cheapest I've found. I ve ordered a few sets with them over the last couple of years and shippind is fast and I live in Mass. I'll check for the number in a while if I have a minute. Magic racing is great as well I've spent alot of cash with them but for top ends recreations unlimited is cheapest.
  18. T-5's a little pipey????????? (it's a shee dude anything you do to it will allow it to remain a little pipey.) That being said T-5's are what I run and they are a little pipey:) more so with the lid off and jetted up more. If you leave the lid on and do their jetting specs w/ the vents andm stuff you'll be pleased. This is the way I bought mine and since have done alot to the motor only to still think about jetting down and putting the lid back on!! Toomeys rock and their customer support is very good.
  19. Hey guys, I hit a rock and broke a stock yamaha end and it almost put me into a tree at about 65 mph. I purchased the chromoly rods and honda end packege from quad central in vegas. 150.00 came with four honda ends and four tie rods. I didn't expect to get four tie rods but I did. They are beefy compared to the yamaha shit ones that cost 37.50 and are never in stock anyway. I have had no issues with these just keeping it out of the pucker brush helps alittle too:) Thanks, my two cents, Jimmy K.
  20. Hey, I have a black Hemi head. It looks great and has no problems. Yes I had to change the studs but whats the big deal there?? I love the head. Not too many out there but they work just as well as the others and they have some cooling fins on the side. That thin got a hemi???????????? Rip it up!!!!! Jimmy K.
  21. Hi, I just filled my crankcase and it is pissing oil out the breather line. I think I filled it o.k. and the head gasket is o.k. maybe I'll just get new o-rings and change them to be sure. What does everyon think will cause this?? My coolant is also a little low at times but I never see it going out the overflow tube.?? Help!!
  22. My she had a melt down after a total rebuild, crank, seals, top end etc. melted a right side piston and burned the hook off the plug. I had the top end done w/ wiseco prolites and reassembles w/ 3 bond and let it sit for week prior to starting it. I started it and it ran o.k. I test rode it and it did'nt pull too hard after third gear. I ulled a plug and it is burned off at the hook again. It has new manifolds, carb boots, gasket sealer every where. I don't think it has an air leak. I need a good reliable shop in Mass or N.H. to do a leak down test as well as a dyno run while adjusting jets. I have a L/E yfz 450 that I ride now but can't sell the shee. I need it to run right, I can't just burn down another set of f$ing pistons again, I need it fixed right and don't trust any dealerships. HELP PLEASE Jimmy K.

  24. Hey guys, I need to know what people are running for gearing with similar set-ups. Mods go as follows: Mildly ported cylinders 20 cc domed vito's black hemi head .060 wiseco proloites TDR carbon fiber reeds w/ ported cages Toomey T-5's (jet hot coated w/ hush 2.5 kit) 4 degree timing key welded and trued hot rods crank ( stock size) 22" kenda Klaw XC's and 23 holeshot xct rear, front jetted w/ 300 mains, 30 pilots, fourth or fifth groove vito's needles, air screw 1 turn out (stock carbs) no lid, K&N w/ outerwear mixed at 40:1 or so (12 oz. oil to four gallons premium or ultra 94 if possible) I am wondering what sizes of sprockets and brands/ types people are using, and speeds expected. Mostly trails but w/ occaisional sixth gear logging roads and rail beds so keeping up w/ buddies on the two wheelers is not a problem, I want to be able to stay in front of them on the long straights. thanks much everyone
  25. I got a year sentence for riding on the road and getting caught back in 1998. The cops lied and said they saw me running into my house. The truth is I was there 10 minutes before they got there. I needed a better lawyer. a year in jail for a banshee is fucking rediculous. I served six months and when i got out i went riding down the powerlines and got popped again, I did'nt run because i didn't know the trails. STAY OFF THE STREETS DUMB ASSES.
